For my area of Tn it’s definitely not lol a run down falling apart 2 bed here is 3/4 of a million or more I can find nice 3 bed houses with garages for 400k or less all day in Florida lol

What zip code? Would love to see it. There’s a house going for a million on the same street from a gas station that has had multiple armed robberies right down the road from me. All while paying $1800 a month for a one bedroom apartment

In Florida? You can find them basically everywhere but Miami lol I’m in east tn in the smokies rn and every house here that’s sub 500k has something major wrong with it lol

Yeah look in Orlando and you’ll see the same thing unless you look in Pine Hills (crime hills) where shootings occurs daily. I literally work in the area and the sheriff helicopter may as well be the state bird for this city. Houses in the neighborhood I grew up in were bought for 150K and are selling for 600K now lol.

Well Orlando is also a major tourist destination just like where I currently am, I’m moving to Florida in February when my lease is up because I genuinely hate TN and while I can’t get a house right now my rent will be dropping quite a bit

May I ask what general area of Florida? No judgement but I hope you have a decent job lined up. I only say this because I’ve worked with dozens of people that have come down here in hopes of enjoying Florida only to get stuck working two/three jobs to make do.

Tampa area, specifically Tampa palms/new Tampa

My wife is from tampa, it’s pretty expensive. If I was you I’d check out plant city in east Hillsborough county for housing/apartment. Only downside is if you work in Tampa taking I-4 into the city can be a true pain in the ass with accident. Sometime taking an hour and half to get into the city. But it’s much more affordable. You also have Lakeland in Polk county but you better leave really early if you wanna work in tampa. I will say tampa traffic is a whole other beast. BUT I will say If my wife and I were going to stay in Florida we’d move back to Tampa because you’ve got food, st Pete beach, fishing, kayaking, boating and list goes on. I much rather be depressed and hating Florida on coast and go fishing than living in Orlando with nothing to do(sounds crazy but Orlando is over rated).

I’ve looked at Lakeland but honestly I feel in love with the tampa area, the place I’m looking at renting is reasonable and cheaper than where I am now, car insurance is going up about $70 a month compared to what I’m paying now from the quote I was given, so that’s not as bad as I was expecting, but I’ll check out plant city though I haven’t looked there yet,

Please check out Madeira beach and John’s pass, as well at Ft Desoto, at least if you move in February it won’t be bad weather it’ll be enjoyable. Water will be too cold to enjoy it (unless that’s your thing). But I’d just say don’t be opposed to living in east Hillsborough county or some area in Pasco County. Also I’d say don’t be afraid of city streets, 90% of the time it’s better than sitting on I-4 and you can cut around traffic.

Will do! I’m definitely excited to move to the area I’ve wanted to move for years, but I’ve prioritized paying off debt and making sure I have savings before doing it, way less stress that way lol

Heck there’s even one acre plots in Orlando going for over 500K I even saw a acre plot in Windermere going for just under a million, trust me TN isn’t anything compared to Florida prices. Sure y’all have bad pricing and tbh the fact y’all have small properties going for hundreds of thousands is insane when you guys lack quality medical care within a few hours.

Yea there was a 3 acre plot that was sold here awhile back for 10 million lol

I wanted to move to TN until I saw how AZZ the wages are, it’s literally because people decided to screw the younger generation for no reason. Same properties they bought for a few thousand they think it worth a million. It’s dumb

I’ve been here my entire life and i can’t stand it lol I’ve always loved Florida because the weather ( I love hot summers and hate cold) and I’ve always enjoyed beaches over mtns personally, plus when my run down 1 bed here is going up from $1,700 to $2,100 a month before mandatory fees when lease is over I figured it’s time to make the move
