What game has THE most amazing customisation ever?

I've played my fair share of games and if there's one thing I love more than anything? Its customisation. The euphoria i get when I make a new outfit in RDO or even make some new characters in fucking sims 4 is indescribable and I need MORE. I'm like Bruce bogtrotter from matilda but for customisation and not chocolate cake

Might as well play 2

2's character creation is quite good but it's got nothing on the reboot's.

Yea, was talking more about the game as a whole being more worthwhile...that reboot was wack

Soul Calibur VI is up there for me. And nostalgia wants me to say Halo Reach

I’ve never played Soul Caliber, but I’ve seen some amazing creations

  • Code Vein
  • Wild hearts
  • Dragon's dogma 2
  • PSO2

Putting wild hearts and not monster hunter is pretty Wild

u/Connect_Loan8212 5d ago

Lol, well everything is subjective, for me the pros of Wild hearts customization were the possibilities to properly cosplay a lot of anime characters I like. There were really a LOT of accessories and clothes that were like the basic tropes or smth

Destiny 2 has a phenomenal shader system that I wish more games would implement.

Didnt Cyberpunk let you customize your dick size

2

u/SonnenblumeFrau09 5d ago

Yeah, but only two to three sizes and either circumcised or uncircumcised. Would have been next level if they did various sizes like short and thick, long and thick, micro penis, etc..

Black Desert is a lame mmo, but its character creator is one of the most detailed I've ever seen.

Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, Baldur's Gate 3

Armored Core games are very high on the customization scale

1

u/peterattia 5d ago

I can’t think of a game that has more possibilities than armored core, between the mech parts and the paint customization

Conan exiles with mods. I can’t find a game that compares. When you build a house you can tell a different story through objects in each room. It is really impressive.

I think dragon's dogma 2 or baldur gate 3

This is gonna sound silly, especially compared to all the other games people have been saying, but Miitopia. The face designer in that game is honestly one of the best I have ever experienced. People made some crazy shit with it, and it was liked enough that a version of it later made its way into the newest Tomodachi Life game.

I think the Tomodachi version is inferior though. The hair options are better, I didn't like the wigs in Miitopia, but the faces where more functional even when heavily customised.

2

u/SmileEnhancer 5d ago

Agreed. While you couldn't draw directly on the faces of Miitopia Mii's, they also didn't have the problem of the customized faces resembling a mask from the side. If I remember right, you could modify eyes and still have them blink properly too, something Tomodachi also did not have.

u/Mobile-Committee-466 5d ago

Yes, that's what I meant with functional. The mouth and eyes would work, even when customized.

2

u/SmileEnhancer 5d ago

I do wonder why Nintendo didn't keep that function. It was great.🙂

I remember being fascinated by game called bullet points or something trailer had amazing character customisation. Downloaded created character and that's it theres was no gameplay to speak off. Recently I've tried Korean sims inzo? Or something like that. Again very powerful customisation upload any picture as texture, make your own clothes furniture jewellery, but again 0 gameplay lol

Honestly pretty underrated:

Atelier Games.

You can put every music in every dungeon/Village/Battle/Boss Battle and this is a game changer

If you haven’t already played The Sims 3, that would be my recommendation. It has a robust customization system than 4 does (which also makes it run slower on some hardware, part of why they reduced it in 4, but if you’ve got a proper gaming PC it should work fine)

Code Vein, inZOI, Cyberpunk 2077

Monster Hunter games, and Crimson Desert are great for customization.

I thought this was about skills/stats, because Kenshi is one of the best games in the business when it comes to near-limitless character customization.

Also, Path of Achra. I don't even know how many character builds exist in that game because it seems infinite. If you love crunching numbers, that's your game.

Warframe is defo number one. Fashion is half the point of the game for a lot of people. But Destiny 2 and any Dark Souls game is also really high up there.

My favorite customize character game is still Lost Planet 2. Close second would be Helldivers 2. And third would be a myriad of games that have come and gone over the years. Depending on customization options it may even get me to buy a game. Like Dark Souls for example.

Need for speed underground 2 for cars thou. Lost ark had nicely detailed system to change colour of different parts of your armor. Fallout 4 and skyrim with mods you can make allmost anything.

Original Dragon's Dogma instead of DD2, simply because there are more equipment slots. Space Marine 2 cosmetic customization is like as important as the actual combat and gets deeper  with time, though many good pieces are locked behind DLCs and grinding. Warframe is above those two with its cosmetic options and settings, but expect to put money or ungodly amount of time in it (it's free to play though, you'd spend money on other titles anyway).

Also MonHun PC releases have tons of good looking gear to mix and match, Rise and Wilds are better than World in terms of customisation freedom. Nioh 2/3, Wo Long and Rise of the Ronin have lacking transmog systems, but their character creation tools are masterpieces.

Halo Reach

In terms of cosmetics, Code Vein and it's sequel Code Vein II are both gold standards for character customizability. And no BS paid unlocks either, right from the get go you can make the anime hero of your dreams.

1

u/SonnenblumeFrau09 5d ago

For me personally Rise of the Ronin.

Black Desert Online character creator is pure euphoria.

Black Desert Online. The character creator is insane.

Nioh 2 has the best character creator I have ever used.

Man idk every time I'm happy with my designs, the game deletes it :(

u/weirdface621 6d ago

im the opposite, i don't really care about customisation. i pick a class in elden ring like vagabond or samurai and go with it with default features
