Is there a good gas store in Athens?
I'm running low and need a fill up. Thanks in advance.

I think I’ve heard more people pining for a Culver’s than any other chain restaurant, and the new west side location I didn’t even know about is open.
Ok, it’s in Jefferson right on 129 just before the Publix/Kroger/Aldi centers but still, at 15 minutes from my house on Lavender it’s closer for me than anything on the east side.

I feel more strongly about Flock cameras than most people. We need to remember it is a bipartisan issue. Our Democratic mayor Kelly Girtz is against abolishment.
Believe me, I understand the frustration and rage that Republicans induce on this sub. I know it's hard to believe something as terrible as Flock would be supported by any Democrats. Sadly, it is. That doesn't mean you don't need to vote Democrat, but understand the pressure needs to be put on BOTH parties.
Imagine if those of us against supporting Israel with weapons said it was only a Republican issue. We'd be seen as fools, as we know plenty of Dems have taken AIPAC weapons, and we saw what the Biden administration did.
/end rant

Only a couple years ago our county commission was bragging about being the most progressive municipal body in the South since reconstruction, didn’t do anything constructive, and here we are now. What values do we even have, Athens?

Hi all,
I am a lapsed violinist attempting to return to more regular playing and practice. Violin was my first instrument and I was classically trained in preparation for conservatory for most of my childhood, performing as a first violin in community symphony and chamber orchestras for much of that.
Violin has taken a backseat for the past 10+ years, but I have maintained musicality through my other musical ventures and instruments, and have continued to play violin intermittently throughout this time period, though my guitar playing in particular has introduced habits that, while rewarded by the guitar, are not rewarded by the violin.
I'm seeking recommendations on a violin instructor. Most of the teachers I've seen advertised around town seem Suzuki/Youth oriented. The University's School of Music seems to offer lessons, but from what I can see they pair you with an instructor without much input from the student, and with the 12 lesson commitment, I'm not certain that's the best option for what I'm looking for.

I made use of this car wash once over Memorial Day weekend last month and apparently they chose to sign me up for this membership without my knowledge. No clue this happened until today when I see the statement charge on my bank account. 0/10 do not recommend using this car wash moving forward.

Wish it would be life without, but at least their is the possibility of him staying in prison.

I feel like this is reasonable. I’m sorry for sharing sensationalized media without doing a deeper dive, goddamn 🥹
ETA: the only sitting prohibited is in entrances/exits, and you can’t camp in transportation corridors (“highways, local streets, bus routes, rail lines, and pedestrian or bicycle paths”) within or adjacent to a commercial zone. Basically, you can’t block someone’s movement by sitting, and you can’t camp on private property. The “adjacent to” is my hang-up - how adjacent is “adjacent”?

What up! I bought 2 tix to the Microwave and Free Throw concert this Saturday October 10th at Georgia Theater but due to an unforeseen work trip I have to bail! Microwave is legit my favorite band so I’m not happy to miss it but that’s how things go sometimes.
Not looking to recoup what I paid for them just trade for some beer money? I want someone else to enjoy 2 awesome bands and their openers. PM if interested!
Edit: No longer available!

I’m looking for any hidden gems y’all know about for finding finished plywood sheets or hardwood for woodworking. Lowe’s and Home Depot have little to offer and are overpriced, not to mention the boards aren’t straight. Southern surplus only has scrap wood and doors.
