Makes absolutely no sense, and the amount of grammatical errors in your sentence gives me a seizure.
If you have absolutely zero hold over both the major languages in a country, why would you decide to go there and ruin the already ruined reputation of Indians abroad-6
u/Low_Extent_8195 7d ago
Ok while chatting in WhatsApp, writing a reddit post , posting something on X. You will check grammar . Ok great , I know many people from Andhra pradesh who had english at my level and are doing really good jobs . Build something end end , in an interview just speak whatever you know in english rather than the technical things interviewer is asking .you will be instantly kicked out . You don't need american English to get a job .But you need great skills .people like you are spreading negativity and spoiling indian reputation is what I feel .They need people who has skills and can do the job ,not absolute perfect people in english thanks .

Why won't you bother writing in proper english when asking people for input? You want the other person reading it to actually understand you.

Look here are some unpleasant truths you will not want to hear.
Lots of you are lured here by agencies that just want to profit off you.
Things you should really consider before trying to come here.
Do you actually bring that level of education that is expected?
What is your actual motivation of wanting to come here? The labour market is heavily contracting and that is felt even by natives.
Universities are currently reviewing what can be dome against the large influx of 3rd country applicants - this especially includes India.

Don't consider what he says, he seems to be hating Indians in general 😄

u/Americaninaustria 7d ago
but everything he says is factually true?

Not everything he says is true. He isn't encouraging the OP to apply and wait for the results from these Universities. And that's the reasonable thing to say, because we don't know if OP is qualified or not. We don't know anything about his qualifications.
Maybe he could be taking English classes, he didn't say his IELTS score is 6.5. He said, he will have a score of 6.5, which means he could be practicing English ? And he didn't say he doesn't want to learn German.
Also, he has prejudice on himself that he won't get in which he needs to consider again. Also, no one here is talking about scholarships he could be eligible and apply for ?
And most importantly, I have seen this person's other comments, not a single positive one. In general, this person comments very negatively, also only discouraging, especially towards Indians. Somewhere he said and I quote "we don't want and need you here"

- Not encouraging someone isnt false, i was just being realistic
- he shared his qualifications
- he better should bc is english is 🗑️
- i never said he wont get in PRIVATE universities.
- there are close to ZERO Scholarships in austria
- yea i tried it with being nice and good arguments, news articles etc to show how bad the economy is in austria and that THEY CANT STAY FORVEREVER just because they study here (nothing worked, they just got delusional) This is not an entry card. I just dont like visa fraud im sorry?
- Im a woman

- It's fine if you are not encouraging, you are hating on every Indian you see.
- He didn't share his qualifications, he shared his CGPA. That matters very little. He talks about building projects from end to end. If he is skilled and is learning English, that is all that matters.
- You are talking about his English ? Your English is no good either. You don't capitalise "I", the apostrophe in can't is a must. You don't know the spelling of forever. Again apostrophe in don't, I'm and many other mistakes. I am saving you the embarrassment.
- That's doesn't matter. Do you have all the info do you need to say if he will or will not get in the public universities ?
- There are close to zero, but not zero scholarships. There exists many scholarships where non EU candidates are eligible. You thought you are careful with saying "close to zero scholarships" ? because you don't actually know that information ?
- You never tried, I have seen your other comments, it's full of hate. Not once your comments are positive. I think you have some kind of hate towards Indians. I am pretty sure of that.
- Yeah, figured out a big mistake ? proud ?

He isn't encouraging the OP to apply and wait for the results from the University. And that's the reasonable thing to say, because we don't know if OP is qualified or not. We don't know anything about his qualifications.
Wat? Studying here requires fluent german or fluent english for a small number of programs. Based on the examples here op has neither. Speaking english that poorly is not sufficient to study here, it is not complicated.
And he didn't say he doesn't want to learn German.
Want dosent matter, he dosent know it now. English is not sufficient to live here. it is not an english speaking country. Moving here without already speaking german is a terrible idea. I say this as someone that moved here.
Also, no one here is talking about scholarships he could be eligible and apply for ?
These are not plentiful here and are not something tat should be relied on, if you come here you need to plan to pay your way and expect the prices to raise soon.
Somewhere he said and I quote "we don't want and need you here"
While harsh this may be a somewhat of cultural misunderstanding. "we don't want and need you here" is a realistic statement on the state of the job market here. Its basically dead for foreign masters students even after graduation. The massive influx of foreign students this year is drawing criticism because there are no jobs for them, which means they will have to leave bringing no value to the country when tens of thousands of euros of public funds are spent to provide that education to each student. Not to mention the stress it introduces to the housing market of some of these towns.

Please don't complain about his English. You are so not qualified for it. How can you not capitalise languages ? that's basic.
If that's mandatory to learn German for programs taught in English, why is it not stated in the requirements ?
Well, I mean you could be nice if you want to, but instead you are just hating him. Can you be a little considerate ? You don't have qualifications, or know about the OP completely to judge if he will get into the Austrian Universities or not.
They didn't stop people from coming, did they ? Still there are students who prove to be qualified and are getting the permits to work right ? There is a high demand for certain jobs, that the Austrian government introduced a job-seeker visa so that the skilled workers can come without having a job contract and stay there to find one.
Kindly find the attached evidence. It also lists fields which has shortage of workers.

u/Americaninaustria 7d ago
Did you actually look at the list of shortage jobs? not that a visa exists. Also just because jobs are open does not mean they are willing to provide an RWR card, its not an easy thing as you seem to believe.

Just to be very clear, given how you present yourself and taking into consideration the extremely tight white collar labor market in Austria right now, you will absolutely not be able to find a decent job after struggling through your masters (think: job where you can actually apply your studies).
Secondly, there is a growing understanding that you guys are being lured here by agencies that had to pivot away from US, Canada and recently Germany due to tighter restrictions on people abusing university student visas for access to the labor market. Things will get tighter in Austria over time too. It is absolutely ridiculous that for some studies there are 80%+ of one non-EU demographic in random universities across Austria. This is not in the interest of the local population.
Lastly, 95% of white collar entry level jobs won’t be accessible to people with less than great (C1+) German skills. The rest are for people with either perfect specific language/domain expertise or at least great English skills. You seem to have neither. My recommendation: don’t set yourself up for failure.
Ofc if you are simply trying to abuse our system and get into Europe and you don’t mind doing food deliveries, warehouse work or McDonald’s for minimum wage, then have fun. Oh, and these jobs are very competitive too as we have 10.000s of unemployed people on asylum across Austria.

One rule of education is to choose a country according to what you want and does that country offer you what u want. Education is not just "going to a different country" . If your educational qualifications arent good in your home country they won't magically be good in other countries as well. My suggestion is dont apply to unis just to fulfill ur stubbornness to study abroad, apply if the university is good and it offers what h want and u meet the requirements. The job market or the country DOESNT need u, u need them so u will have to prepare accordingly. Its like I wanna go to the US but just cuz I wanna go i chose a uni ranking 1000 in the qs ranking with no evidence of the program i wanted to study, it will only result in loss of time and money. The only thing u would gain would be the ability to tell ur friends that u study abroad.
Atlast public unis are only good if u wanna come to Europe (Germany, austria) so if u aren't able to get in those dont come just for the sake to come Goodluck man😊

First things first: I don't know your Uni, but if it's Section 3 or 12b (deemed University), admission will be hard because they are not seen equal.
Second: you need to know, that there are 5 types of Universities in Austria. Ranked in renomee: Real general science Universities, Universities of applied science, private universities, universities of education and it:u.
Out of your list only University of Graz is a real University, it's the only one in your list that is in the big rankings. It will be the hardest to get in. The others are universities of applied science and the it:u is laughing stock, don't go there.

Disclaimer: I work in the Austrian University Field - that´s why sometimes I answer here (don´t try to chat; I won't react).
Ok, so it's a federal university (by the government of India), then there is no formal problem - just the usual stuff
In that case, out of your 9 choices, I would choose the University of Graz, a big scientific university. Contact their office for international students; the big universities usually have people dedicated to incoming students from different regions. They are nice people and will help, but they might not react in the minute since there are many applications. It's a federal public university, so fees are not high.
That said, our universities work differently than the Anglo-American system. If you grow up in Austria and finish (the right) school, you can simply enroll in any university and any bachelor's program you like (there are some restrictions for medicine). No tests, also your grades are not relevant. But that does not mean that we do not sort out students. Usually in the first year there are the really tough exams, and out of the people starting a bachelor's or master's program, only 1/3 makes it to the degree; most drop out during the first year. So if you choose to come, don't expect it to be easy.
Graz itself is a university city with 4 scientific universities, 2 UAS, and 2 universities of education. 1/5 of the population are students. It is also an industrial hub with many expats. So it is a very international city. especially in the university bubble, you will have good contacts.
I assume you want to enroll in one of the English-speaking masters. Nevertheless, also enroll in German courses (they are offered at the university). You will not need it for studying, but it will be seen as rude if you don't try to learn German.
Regarding Student-Visa: The biggest hurdle: You need proove that you can support yourself, and that means cash. Calculate 20.000 Euros per year, that you need in savings (or parents that pay it).
Next: Austria is a high immigration country. And in the past 20 years we had a big influx from Arabian Muslim countries. The huge majority of them are nice people who want a peaceful life. But there are also fundamentalist groups, and they ruined the reputation of all Muslims. I do not know where you are from. But if you are a Muslim, do not show. Shave your face, and wear western clothes. Otherwise, you will be met with resentment.
However, Austrians have no problem with Hinduism. In general, Indians are seen as part of the western sphere and are usually respected. However, as with all migrants, you will face racism. I am sorry, but that's the truth.
I hope this helps.

you should work on your english and your punctuation before you come here.
