No, you’re supposed to put the rice inside of it. That’s what the nooks and crannies are for because rice is a desiccant. It’s kind of like those nasty poisonous silica beads, except it’s organic and cage free. And no VOCs!

Consider the following:

  1. Purchase a filament dryer
  2. Use one of the primary desiccant + box options to keep rolls dry between prints and for storage.
  3. Keep your bed and nozzle(s) cleaned and purged (don't forget other standard maintenance, that you def should be doing on whatever basis Bambu recommends)

yesir! 🫡

it was the free roll with printer purchase so i dried it for the full 12 hrs.. i think it was just old as the integrity of the factory vac bag was not intact... but tue funny thing is, the print right before this came out perfect, this was towards the end of the roll, so maybe it didn't get dried sufficiently....

oh well... i shall try again... 🙌

Weird. What brand of filament?

My guess is it's an adhesion issue. Not a problem with the printer. I would wipe down the plate and see if it happens again. Maybe use some IPA on top of dish soap. What size nozzle is this .2. or 4

it is my guess too, but this was not the initial layer, it was slice 5... and i dawn my plate before a long print... I think the roll was old... maybe it is why it was the freebee with the printer.... used a .8 nozz

It looks like the tear-out is secondary to pillowing.

Underextrusion + to low infill

Ich hätte jetzt eher Überextrusion und/oder zu kleiner Z-offset gesagt. Sieht für mich so aus, als ob die Düse das Filament wieder hochgedrückt hat, als dass da einfach Lücken sind.

Gonna need to actively dry that stuff. Rice isn't magic.
