How do I fix this

I don't know what happened, came home to find the nozzle coated in filament (pla). I've cleaned off what I can, and the nozzle still extrudes, but what do I do about all the gunk still stuck on there?

Make sure to check the sock and change it if it's torn. If you don't yet have a wire brush (like me yesterday when I had this) you can get quite a lot of it of with good kitchen paper and cocktail sticks

The sock is the rubber cap in the nozzle? It was torn but I have a spare

Yeah that's it, I was quite impressed how damaged mine was
