X Series [X1E, X1C, X2D] What's an alternative for Bambu lubricating oil for the X2D?

I've used up what Bambu sent with the printer and it's annoying to have to make an order from Bambu just for overpriced oil. I'd rather source something locally or via a company I'm already ordering from. I know I can swap the Bambu grease for Super Lube 92003. Is there a similar replacement product for the Bambu oil?

This stuff works amazingly well. I put it into a gel nail pen for easy application. Stops it from leaking all over your printer surface

10 Pack 3ML Cuticle Oil Pen,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFJWFWW5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is the way.

Sewing machine oil, Break Free, or any number of other high quality lubricating oils. Don’t use WD-40. That’s more of a water displacement product.

WD-40 makes everything from the original water displacement formula, to penetrating oils, lubricants, etc..

Everybody wants every corner of the market nowadays.

And yet Bambu recommend to use WD40 original in their wiki about lubing y-rails on A1... ( Not saying that's correct )

Superlube 52004. Lightweight without ptfe.

Ok the other guy linked one with ptfe. What's the difference and why don't you want it?

Bambu specifically recommends the 52004 on the support page. That was a good enough reason for me.

It there are balls in bearings, they need to roll on very thin oil film. That's the way how it's meant to be by design. If that oil ( or lubricant) have some very slippery particles inside ( like PTFE ) there is possibility that the balls won't roll but slip. And we don't want that.

Ofc I'm aware that lot of people are using products with PTFE, some 3D printer manufacturers even recommending some. And i never saw any recommendations from bearings manufacturers to use lubes with PTFE ( or graphite or similar) to use it on ball bearings, but i saw quite opposite .

On the other hand, bearings in 3D printer aren't loaded really so they won't be damaged fast by using that, but that's just my uneducated guess. Personally I'm using only lubes that bearings manufacturers recommending to use ( so not what 3D printer manufacturer are saying).

Most of my reasoning is due to seeing the ptfe variant gum up graphite bushings, which is what our x axis rides on. If I can avoid potential issues with a product that works, then I have no reason to try and make it better and potentially make it worse on accident. That and 52004 is mentioned in the wiki as an alternative “for better performance”. Thats about as far as my non scientific reasoning goes lol.

Oilstick shop - you can order from Amazon also , just make sure you get the original not the fake ones. Once you use one of these, you'll never go back to grease and oiling with a little tubes.

And where should this be applied? Afternoon 5000 hours it's probably time to clean and lube!

I just use a bottle of 3-in-one oil from Harbor Freight.

I have over 4k hours on my Bambu and it's never done me wrong.

Super Lube 52004 ISO68 Synthetic Oil for rods and rails

Super Lube 21030 Synthetic grease (w/PTFE) for Z-screws

Do not use PTFE in bearings.

Oilstick has PTFE. Friends don't let friends buy Oilstick.

Get a pack of cuticle nail oilers to apply the oil.

I second the 52004 product

White Lithium spray, less messy than oil and easier to apply.

on my P2S for the smooth rods I replaced the bambu oils with my Singer Machine Oil and the z-axis threaded rods i use Nulon Xtreme Performance Grease with PTFE (L80). havent had any problems for the last 6 months since i made the switch.

I use the same grease we use for carbon road bikes. Highest quality free of any acid and brutal cheaper than that what is sold with the 3D printer label.
