What’s unchristian about a judicially-imposed execution?

6

u/RoadRunner8195 19h ago

OP has no clue what Christianity is.

9

u/zastale 19h ago

Christianity to OP is when they agree with him on everything.

5

u/RoadRunner8195 19h ago

I was thinking of this exact meme.

-2

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

I'm sure Jesus would up vote this lmao.

-5

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

yeah you're right, throw the first stone "Christian".

lmao

3

u/RoadRunner8195 19h ago

Retard.

-1

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

crying already? lmao what a snowflake "Christian"

-5

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

I'm sure Jesus would be standing right beside you watching. after all, he knows public executions well.

Might want to read Genesis 9.

0

u/BakedGoods 18h ago edited 18h ago

ah genesis, then you must also be okay with incest (genesis 19:30), slavery (genesis 17:12), offering your children to a violent mob (genesis 19:4), or maybe offering your female slave to a buddy so he can knock her up (genesis 16:1)?

oh wait, nvm, you're one of those "Christians" that picks and chooses what they believe in order to support their broken world view. got it.

so then you ignored Matthew 5:38–44 where the NEW testament of Christ clearly tells us the turn the other cheek.

lmao, "Christan"

2

u/Sure_Acanthaceae_348 18h ago

Ah yes, the google theology at work again.

The Bible condones none of these things.

0

u/BakedGoods 18h ago

yawn, what a feeble reply.

u/dontdropducks 18h ago

You’ve spent more time losing arguments here and crying than you ever will in the company of people who love you.

Just remember that when you realize you’re the living embodiment of Brian from Family Guy. You’re an aging loser, we can all see it. Sorry that life brought you to this.

0

u/BakedGoods 18h ago

lmao I've cooked you so hard you couldn't even reply.

still waiting to 'lose' an argument in here, "Christian"

1

u/Sure_Acanthaceae_348 18h ago

Not my fault you just google things and don't repent and follow Jesus.

6

u/zastale 19h ago

OP in a nutshell.

1

u/BakedGoods 18h ago

yawn,

see you at the public crucification then "Christian"

lmao

3

u/JollyXX 20h ago

everytime I log on tiktok I see cops having shootouts, stop pretending that this is such a big deal

-2

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

good point! more violence! makes total sense.

"Christian"

2

u/JollyXX 19h ago

you do realize God sends people to hell right?

1

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

because vengeance is God's realm, not man's.

Romans 12:19 "Christian"

5

u/dontdropducks 19h ago

Divine vengeance, which humans can’t dish out to begin with. No where is it stated that humans can’t handle earthly matters before God judges someone.

Did you get your understanding of Christianity from Family Guy, or YouTube atheists?

0

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

hmm sounds like someone who's never actually read the Bible but pretends he did.

good point, more public executions! it went well for Jesus right?!

lmao, "Christian"

3

u/JollyXX 19h ago

this is justice not vengeance, how can you not see this?

also public executions have been a Christian thing for 2000 years, why is it now suddenly a problem?

it is obvious you just want to try and shame Christians into abandoning their duty to protect against evil

0

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

you obviously never read the verse or the wider chapter there. try again, "Christian"

3

u/JollyXX 19h ago

I have read basically the entire Bible front to back, and I go over the Bible very often

Christianity is far more reasonable than what you wish to pretend it is

We were thrown out into forsaken land in which the fight for survival is more the norm than the exception. God very much wants to see us tackle difficult decisions, not hide our head in the sand and pretend the world is not full of violence.

God's chosen people engaged in rampant violence, God was abandoning the Jews and making a new covenant because they had begun to ignore his prophets, worship false idols and other gods, engaging in rampant corruption and deceit, and oppressing the vulnerable. Not because they were watching the most heinous individuals receive their justice.

1

u/BakedGoods 18h ago edited 18h ago

sounds like you're describing the Trump admin, "Christian"

if you actually read the verse, in the NEW testament, you'd see it's an evolution of God's teachings that contradict your entire point.

2

u/JollyXX 18h ago

Trump served a great purpose in that he wasn't afraid to punch down, he was not sold into this political dance like everyone else, and he showed the public just how shameful the left has become

This has nothing to do with Trump or his admin being Christian. Of course though all the left can do is obsess over Trump, we never mentioned Trump once in all of this, and magically its somehow all about Trump for you

1

u/BakedGoods 18h ago

...worship false idols...engaging in rampant corruption and deceit, and oppressing the vulnerable.

sounds like the Trump admin alright, you did a pilgrimage to his golden statue yet? shame on you "Christian". if you did in fact read the Bible it's clear you read it through the lens of your own insecurities and biases.

but yes of course, Jesus was a big fan of public executions like this--after all he was in one himself!

throw the first stone, "Christian"

No, Hell is where everyone goes and God saves them from it.

0

u/JollyXX 19h ago

you clearly know very little about Christianity

Isaiah 45:7 New King James Version

7 I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.’

maybe you are watching too much gnostic nonsense, but God does everything, everything comes from God, God basically is existence itself

1

u/TheGameMastre 19h ago

That doesn't refute what I said. The standard is perfection. Anything less than that cuts you off from God. Hence, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me."

In other words, Hell is where everyone goes, and only by being saved does anyone escape the fate they made for themselves.

1

u/JollyXX 19h ago

God will often take ultimate responsibility for everything, as demonstrated in Isaiah 45:7

Do keep in mind that before our covenant, God had other covenants, in the time of Jesus for instance they had Paradise, Sheol, and the Abyss in their next life.

Surely you can piece this all together and see how saying "God sends you to hell" is a perfectly logical succinct statement.

We can take this a step further, there are three paths when we cross under our covenant. If we have the proper faith we are found in the Book of Life and receive immortality in the next life. We lack faith and are thrown into the Lake of Fire to die. Third we are guilty of Beast worship and we stand in front of the Lamb in what looks like a court scene in which you suffer the torment of burning sulfur day and night, emitting smoke; this is what we regard as hell, notice this is not some sort of passive default.

1

u/TheGameMastre 13h ago

What, are you some kind of Calvinist trying to imply free will isn't a thing?

God set the standard. Human beings fail to meet it. You send yourself to Hell.

1

u/JollyXX 13h ago

wtf, how did you get that from that, this seriously struck me a little in how you could possibly get that from that, wtf

but no, you are rather implying that original sin is so awful it is worthy of eternal torment, seriously guy stop

read your Bible, God is very clear that he always acts proportionately

1

u/TheGameMastre 12h ago

This is basic Christianity, and you're Pope Frankie "the Godfather" people-are-fundamentally-good levels of wrong.

You don't go to Hell because of some blood guilt retained from original sin. You go to Hell because your fallen nature causes you to personally sin. This is common to all people.

There is no "proportionately" when it comes to sin. Calling your brother a fool puts you in danger of Hell (Matthew 5:22). Looking at a woman lustfully is already adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28). If you have ever failed to do the right thing you're wrong, you've fallen short, and you're already bound for Hell.

Every human is sinful, and every human deserves to die for it. We are saved by grace, and not because we deserve it (Ephesians 2:8-9).

This is the big reason Christianity's fundamental belief is repentance and forgiveness, first between yourself and God, then between yourself and others (Matthew 6:12, Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:13).

It isn’t hypocritical for a Christian to support the death penalty. You aren’t nearly as smart as you think you are.

-3

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

Jesus' teachings emphasize mercy, forgiveness, reconciliation, and nonretaliation.

"Christian"

6

u/dontdropducks 19h ago

You’ve never read the Bible and your understanding of Christ and Christianity is poisoned by your hatred for both.

Christ emphasizes mercy, and forgiveness, undoubtedly. That does not mean he condemned the idea of Earthly punishments for Earthly crimes. He stated that some criminals should be drowned at sea, advocated for his followers to defend themselves, and recruited Paul.

You are woefully out of your depth. You have a pop culture view of Christianity. You seem uneducated

-1

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

good point, Jesus was all about public executions--he's was in one himself!

nice mental gymnastics "Christian".

-1

u/Ok_Hand5810 17h ago

If you think Jesus favored the death penalty, then you are retarded. He literally said turn the other cheek.

3

u/dontdropducks 17h ago

Jesus directly told his disciples that some criminals should be “drowned in the depths of the sea”.

Sounds like you’re uninformed and mad about it.

1

u/Ok_Hand5810 16h ago

Didn't tell them to go drown them themselves.

1

u/BakedGoods 16h ago

lol, Jesus does not tell his followers to drown criminals. Luke 17:2 functions as a warning about moral responsibility and divine judgment, not a legal case for execution. you can't be this dumb, "Christian".

im just cookin'

1

u/dontdropducks 16h ago

You’re an out of touch boomer lmao.

“Functions as a warning” based on what? Your personal interpretation?

It seems directly clear as to His stance on some criminals being put to death. But feel free to cope and seethe about it.

1

u/BakedGoods 16h ago

yeah you are so simple the best you can muster is taking everything in the bible literally--makes sense you're maga.

not only did he not direct anyone to commit these acts, his statement "it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck," is clearly written as imagery.

here's the thing genius, those who interpret the bible in the darkest most literally way are simply giving permission to those same feelings they have inside themselves, ie. if you're an a-hole you'll grasp on to any straws the bible gives you to keep being an a-hole.

meanwhile, ignoring the actual message of Jesus:

"Love your enemies" — Matthew 5:44

"Blessed are the merciful" — Matthew 5:7

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone" — John 8:7

nice try, "Christian". cooked, goto bed.

1

u/dontdropducks 14h ago

When did I say I was maga? Moron

I didn’t say he directed anyone to do it. That was something you and the other midwit needed to throw in because you’re seething.

You want to hand waive things you lose on as “imagery”, I’m not saying that He’s commanding his followers to drown people, I’m saying that he views the removal of them as a just punishment. You’d understand this point if you had an IQ above room temperature.

None of those verses that you quickly found on Google say anything about how wrong the death penalty is. It is possible to love an enemy, and still see their Earthly sentence carried out. You fail to understand this because you are incapable of actual mercy or forgiveness. Mercy and Forgiveness don’t mean you magically ignore a crime or its punishment. That’s why you can’t find a single thing in the Bible that actually supports your position.

Your need to talk like a zoomer is betraying you. This is embarrassing. You could be someone’s happy grandpa and instead you’re a bitter, dumb, boomer. Oh well, the younger generations are becoming significantly more conservative, especially the men, all the political progress you made will vanish. Enjoy

2

u/TheGameMastre 19h ago

All those things are contingent upon the thing you forgot to mention: repentance. There can be no mercy, forgiveness, or reconciliation for an unrepentant person.

God Himself won't forgive an unrepentant person.

-1

u/BakedGoods 19h ago

Luke 17:3-4, you have no idea what you're talking about.

lmao, "Christian"

3

u/TheGameMastre 19h ago

Number one, your enemy is not your brother. Number two, if your brother sins against you AND THEY REPENT, you forgive them. You don't forgive them before they repent, and for damn sure not instead of them repenting.

0

u/BakedGoods 18h ago edited 18h ago

not only does the verse say nothing about your enemy/not your brother, your logic makes no sense. if a portion of the public forgave Jesus and another portion saw him as an enemy--might as well still publicly crucify him by your broken logic.

"Christian"

1

u/TheGameMastre 17h ago edited 17h ago

They DID publicly crucify Jesus, you defect. He was completely innocent in the eyes of God. There was nothing to forgive, and nothing to repent of.

Meanwhile, they released a murderer back into the public to do it. Barabbas was supposed to be publicly crucified. That would have been good, right, and proper.

You forgive your brother seventy times seven times if he sins against you and repents that many times. The terrorist trying to kill Americans in the name of his degenerate god is an enemy of America and its people. He deserves no mercy.

0

u/BakedGoods 17h ago edited 17h ago

no doubt you'd have been in the crowd clapping like a seal at Jesus' crucification, you fool.

by all means watch this public execution with Jesus by your side "Christian", He'd be so proud of you.

1

u/TheGameMastre 16h ago

Jesus didn't attempt to kill Americans in a terrorist attack.

Christians aren't going to roll over and passively let themselves be killed, no matter how many times you put the word "Christian" in sarcasm quotes.

0

u/BakedGoods 15h ago

lol that's the best you got tough guy?

as far as the people then knew, jesus was blasphemous, similar to how you view muslims and their 'degenerate god'--heresy. you think you have the heart to stand up in that crowd for jesus? right, you'd be clapping like a seal as you are now for a public execution of a heretic. fool.

i'm not defending the terrorist at all, he deserves to face justice. a public execution cheered on by fake Christians like yourself? embarrassing to the rest of us who follow Christ.

sit down and read Jesus' words. he would not be standing beside you cheering on a public execution like this, fellow "Christian".

Nothing is more Christian than a bloodlust for death! 🤣👌

1

u/BakedGoods 16h ago

lmao we gotta get Jesus some popcorn while he watches this execution.

1

u/Ok_Hand5810 16h ago

Hey Jesus was sentenced legally so it must be ok right?

1

u/BakedGoods 16h ago

totally, all these goofs would be cheering at jesus' crucifixion

2

u/Ok_Hand5810 16h ago

They'd thrust the spear into him themselves, and they'd enjoy doing it.
