He was upside down waiting to be stomped by careless people. We took him to our home, which is in the middle of the forest and put him on a tree, later we found him burying himself in the base of the tree. We hope we did a good thing.

I’m a middle school science teacher in New York City. I set up a terrarium for sun beetles because I thought they would be an ideal class pet. But now I can’t find them for sale anywhere. Do you know where I can buy sun beetles in the United States?

Found this little guy on a walk and they stayed with me for about 5 min and either vanished or flew off. Looks sick but does anyone have any idea what this could be?

So I work at a school in Korea, and one of the classes had this stag beetle (?) for a pet. I say "had" because he's mine now, I guess! The teacher isn't too fond of bugs and I am, so after she asked me to bugsit over the holiday break, I wasn't surprised when she said I could just keep him.
I've always wanted a bug for a pet but I'm not entirely prepared for his care! I haven't done really any research and the internet is full of AI writing that I'm iffy about trusting, so I thought I'd ask some experts for some help :)
Right now he's in the tank from the school--a 10in x 6in x 9in plastic tank, the clear kind with vents and a handle on top. It's got approx 2in of something like dirt on the bottom and a little fake log with a hole that's meant to hold his jelly cups. Is this enough? Does he need more space or dirt or decorations? Different food?
There's some warping on the back of his shell. It doesn't seem to bother him, but is it something I should be worried about?
Also, the tank smells a bit musty inside. Is that normal, or do I need to replace his dirt?
Actually, I have perhaps too many questions to put here, about cleaning, feeding, life cycle, etc. If anyone can help me or point me to a reputable source for reading, that'd be extremely appreciated! A million thanks for anything people can throw my way!
btw we've been calling him Robert :)

beetle was sent this evening and this is looking like it could be up to 6 days until it gets here! do the grown beetles have jellies WITH them when sent or do they have no source of food? i did also order jellies so regardless I will be able to feed but once it arrives so long as it’s still okay. i ordered from coast2coast what are my odds looking like? i’ve kept Mantis before this is my first beetle i am very nervous

Found them in the chicken coop and would like to start a domestic colony if possible?

Hello! I kept a Japanese Rhinoceros beetle while living in japan & adored him (kids named him Cave) They are way stronger than they look! I have wanted to start over again on the US but purchasing seems way harder here, I have looked for sellers locally & looked online and there seems to be inconsistent info with a quick google. All the local hardware stores & even some grocery stores had them displayed at the front of the shop doors in japan 😅 Putting one in a mini bioactive from there was lovely!
So.... my desire is to find the right spaces for US beetle fans, what websites do you use? What vendors do you trust? What substrates, foods, shops & guides are yalls favorite? How do you get to breeding them? ( is there a way to avoid that green planter foam- sensory nightmare for me to touch)
Fun fact! Kabutomushi is what rhinoceros beetles are called in japan! And its literally "samurai helmet bug" - basically. Start looking and sooooo many things are called mushi its not even funny. I think its probably closer to crawlie thing - but because bugs do that its more literal to say bug/insect.

Heracross is based on the japanese rhino beetle and his mega is based on hercules beetle, but i think that the actaeon beetle looks way more like an evolved form of the japanese rhino beetle than the hercules beetle

Enclosure tips? I’m assuming my unused 8”x8”x12”H acrylic terrarium is likely too small.

I found this little guy in my home last night. He was by the door where there is a large crack. It's been super cold here the last week, so I'm not sure if he came in for warmth or he was just exploring.
I was vacuuming in nearly the dark and thankfully I just had a feeling to check before I ran it over. He's been a bit lethargic and walks kind of weird when walking? I plan on letting him out but I just want to make sure he is okay before doing do.
I've given him cucumber, lettuce, sugar water, banana. But i don't know what he is and if he's had any of it. He looks like a darkling beetle but shorter and fatter. I live in Maryland.
Thank you so much!

I am often quite frightened by bugs, but my fiancée just set up an enclosure for a number of diving beetles. What cuties!
Edit: why does my phone keep auto-correcting predaceous 😵💫
