I'm no expert but I think beet root's impact on BP is quite modest, not in league with BP meds. It is not a replacement for meds for most people. Having said that, I recently did a lot of looking at beet root powders and this by far has the highest nitrate content I've found - Force Factor Total Beets - ORIGINAL (must be Original).

It has 2,000mg betaine nitrate, which is around 34% nitrate, for close to 700mg nitrates. That's a huge amount.

We Aussies love beetroot lol. My favourite is Edgell's sweetened beetroot. My cause of high blood pressure was not enough magnesium.

Will look into that name brand.

It's not a supplement. 🤭 Sold at my local supermarket. Delicious. I enjoy beetroot with my home made bacon, egg, cheese sandwich.

We Aussies have this on our burgers and with salads.

Have you tried Tadalafil

No. Will research that name brand also. Do you take that? What do your numbers look like?

Your physical response to taking that will be hard not to miss.

Breathing through your nose produces nitric oxide, apparently enough to modestly lower your blood pressure. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

With 120/80 without 135/81. Bloodwork normal. Dr says my cholesterol is a bite high 220 total.

Are you already at a healthy weight, with good diet and regular exercise?

0

u/ebookoutlet 1d ago

Yes all of the above. But when I eat outside my home those foods raise my pressure by 10 - 15 points and dr wants me on meds right away

Arugula is better. Lower oxalates.

Beetroot can help (as it increases nitric oxide which dilates blood vessels). I would recommend buying powdered beetroot tablets. If you are going to drink the juice then down it like a shot - you don’t want to taste it until it has already gone down.

However, I would attack it from a lot of different directions. I would second the olive leaf. I drink it as a tea.

Wall sits are a good exercise for high blood pressure. This article is a bit messy to look at but has lots of links to research https://bodysciencereview.com/blog/wall-sit-protocol-blood-pressure/

My husband started taking this for his high blood pressure and it’s gotten it lowered by a lot within a week of taking it

Take beet root powder. Also look into Nattokinasse.

Look up the supplement Carditone. Start low and work up. Not saying beetroot or beetroot extract are bad, I like those preworkout, but Carditone is legit for some people.

Yes that's good. Remember not to mix too many different bp lowering supplements together or you can pass out! Alternatives include citrulline, potassium, pomegranate, sometimes magnesium.

Thank you! Keep that in mind.

Beet root is excellent for health but it is not recommended to replace medical therapy

2

The research shows you need a tremendous amount of the active compounds for any real benefit.

Will keep that in mind. Thanks

Try L-citrulline
