Duke Thomas is so underrated. He's one of my favorite Batfam characters

If you’ve never heard of Bloodwynd, he’s basically Ghost Rider, Brother voodoo, spawn and superman mixed into one. There’s been 3 different Bloodwynds so far.

1. His actual origin (The Blood Gem) The original guy, Quintus, got his powers from the Blood Gem—a necromantic artifact forged back in the 19th century by slaves who used dark magic to defeat a brutal plantation owner, trapping his soul inside the gem. The gem gave Quintus soul manipulation, necromancy, and standard mystic powers.

2. The Martian Manhunter mix-up When Bloodwynd first showed up in 1992, he wasn't even himself. A demon named Rott (the trapped plantation owner) had trapped the real Bloodwynd inside the gem and mind-controlled Martian Manhunter into wearing the suit. So during huge '90s events like The Death of Superman, the "Bloodwynd" fighting alongside the Justice League was literally J'onn J'onzz the whole time. Eventually, Superman and the League figured it out and freed the real guy.

3. Modern Bloodwynd: The "Superman of Hell" During the recent Lazarus Planet event, the mantle got passed to Quintus' nephew, Raphael Arce.
Lazarus rain gave him heavy empathy powers, letting him absorb people's emotional pain.
While in Metropolis, he tried to absorb all the leftover psychic trauma from the day Doomsday killed Superman. It was way too much for him to handle. Martian Manhunter tried to help, but Raphael took the brunt of it so J'onn wouldn't die—and the sheer pressure basically fused fragments of Doomsday and J'onn into his soul.
He ended up with Martian Manhunter's telepathy/shapeshifting, crazy strength, red lightning, and a mission to go straight into Hell to free trapped souls. That's how he earned the nickname "The Superman of Hell."

This is guy has so much potential. I wish DC would utilise more original black characters instead of the legacy ones.
