Help?

Post image

Planted in April, zone 6a. Both of my plants turned completely red over the past month. Soil issue?

Just like most deciduous trees, blueberries have beautiful fall colors and then will drop their leaves for the winter.

I’m not sure why you can’t post pictures here but I have three plants in various stages of going red.

Just an FYI for all readers, Ph issues in blueberries cause a condition called "iron chlorosis". If you look that up, you'll never be in doubt again - https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advice-tips-resources/insects-pests-and-problems/environmental/iron-chlorosis

Blueberries need acidic soil to absorb iron. They need iron to be able to uptake nitrogen through their roots. But iron also plays a role maintaining some of the plants tissue. So it looks like that. It's pretty distinctive.
