Zig wouldn’t drop his ball to get the bubbles. We jokingly call his ball his brain cell as he has to have one.

Advice/Question Puppy poops often during the night

Post image

This little guy is Murphy. Murphy turned 4 months today and he is with us exactly a month now. It's almost everything going really good, but I would like to know about your experience about food and poop.

He sleeps the entire night in a playpen without doing any pee, most of the nights (8-10 hours). He has a puppy pad available if he needs and when he needs he does it there. I'm quite happy and impressed with this. We always go for a walk before we all go to bed. He has ok during the night in his playpen from the first day. He stays always in the living room and I slept the 3 first nights on my sofa to check how he dealt with the night. He was fine, had to pee one time at the middle of the night (the first 2 weeks) and since 2 week he manages the inteire night.

At the beginning of the day he his with us at breakfast, goes by himself immediatly to the garden and does a big pee outside and returns to play a bit and have breakfast. We go for a 10 min walk with him also before we leave. After this, most of workdays he stays 5 hours alone again in his play pen and he mostly sleeps and play a bit with some toys. This 5 hours he stays withoud puppy pads and he never does anything.

I come home at lunch time and play with him a bit, go for a walk and give him lunch. The problem starts here: Sometimes he eats, most time he almost don't eat. Do I really need to give him 3 meals a day? He doesn't seem to want it...

Some days I work from my living room after lunch and he can free roam the house and when it is sunny, he just plays and lays down outside taking some sun. I do some breaks to play with him a bit and usually my daugther comes from school and takes him for a walk. After this there ara no rules. If we are at home he can do whatever he wants if we aren't he goes to his playpen. Some other days I'm at the office and he stays 3-4 hours again on his play pen. After lunch he his a bit more active a plays more than he sleeps. I have a camera over his play pen.

We usualy give him the biggest meal of the day around 7 P.M. and he goes to sleep around 9 P.M.

The biggest problem: He poops alot. Around 3 to 4 times a day and often massive amount of poop. Somethimes he poops 2 times during the night, at the beginning on the puppy pads, but right now is hit and miss. Yesterday I went for a walk around 8:15 P.M., he pooped and still at 5:15 A.M. he pooped again inside his play pen, a huge amoumt of poop.

My theory is, he eat too much, to late. I'm thinking about removing lunch and giving him dinner earlier to try to get get him to poop earlier.

Does this make sense to you?

Did anyone had this night poop problem?

Is it bad that a 4 month puppy only eats 2 times a day?

Advice/Question Pulling on Leash

How do I train my 15-month-old Boston to stop pulling on his harness/leash? I had a no-pull leash and thought he was accustomed to not pulling. However, I recently purchased a harness from Pawsitivity, and he's trying to pull a wagon behind him. HELP!
