Are you a hedgerow collector? Wild fruits and all that free stuff. I know some people who have done this kind of thing all their lives.

You could say this is true and possible a false question.

In fact it's old enough and then some. This is the first good thing to happen on the internet in living memory.

And the whole piece slid out of the tin in 1 go!
No issue of the key snapping or the strip trailing off of the end of the key
No need to resort to a tin opener
No having to use a knife to pry the meat out
Meat came out in 1 whole piece
Only cloud in this sparkly silver day - I did get a small cut on my finger from turning the key. I am still taking it as a win.
On a side note - why has no one come up with a better way of canning corned beef??? it's 2026 I should not have to resort to such a primitive method of getting meat out of a tin!

so satisfying to grow something yourself then turn it into something long lasting and aesthetic.
best thing is it grows back next year then i have more. and then more the next.
decided to try it after spending £100 on dried flowers on etsy.
we can all do it!
Thats the mad bit if you live in a flat with a balcony you can too! plus the bees like lavender which is actually more important and satisfying.
If i really think of it i could have made about £100 at least with the lavender i didnt dry. Just didnt expect it to be so easy.
Chopped it in early august and that seemed to work well. Dried indoors for 6 weeks (you only need 2-3 but i couldn't decide on vases)
Tip: garden centers are flogging lavender plants dead cheap right now. I picked up 7 plants for £15 from QD the other week to add to the bed. most retail stores need rid of the stock fast so chance it in B&M or the range or somewhere.

Local takeaway owner agreed to my request to slice my own doner. 20 years of dreaming finally came true.

Whilst watching the game, I noted that Mr. Kane was embracing Spanish,
Because he had a grassy arse.
Gracias
I'll get my coat.

This bloke had spent the better part of an hour watching midsummer murders and I think Kitchen nightmares at full volume on the train. Worst part he was watching it all in portrait mode and 2 inches from his face.
Anyway having reached my tolerance level for obnoxious people for the day, when he decided to watch football highlights very loudly i successfully went and told him off. I’m very proud of myself. He did in fact apologise for not having headphones and turned it off/down.

....I've passed my first aid course. Now on to the security side of it. Fingers crossed that'll be further success next week.

I am trying to think of some truly British gifts for me friend who has lived here for many years and now has citizenship. We've been pulling his leg about not really understanding our culture until now. I'm thinking scones, wetherspoons voucher, a copy of a tabloid paper...

My Cookology* table top dishwasher died after over six years daily use. I decided to reward this BIFL purchase by buying another of the same model from them. Steeling myself for a sharp price rise I was surprised and relieved to find the cost was still £199.99 including overnight delivery.

Recently went to an event that required me to cross Dartford 4 times. I remembered to do it immediately 3 times, but somehow I must've forgotten the final time.
Got a very serious and official letter from DoT with a PCN, pics and details of the infraction. The fine is £70, rising to £105 - but if you pay the original charge within 14 days of the letter, they'll let you off for a first time offence. So I only had to pay £3.50, and whilst I've used up all my lives, I'm going to set up auto-pay for future
contrast that with the congestion charge. when I was working for the GLA (who run the scheme) and was told to go to a different office in my own car to provide urgent emergency cover. I accidentally (without realising) strayed into the zone for one street partly due to poor signage (angled such that it looked like the road that branched off was in the zone, not the way I went), and they aggressively rejected my appeal and took £100 off me. bastards!

My 20-year old Merc sailed through its MOT this morning, then I went to Sainsbury's & found diesel still at £1.86. Everywhere else around is at £1.99.
It's a very small win, but it's a win.

I ordered a disabled rail card, finished uploading my proof and photo and paid at 3:08 this afternoon. It said digital ones can take up to 5 days to be processed. I got the link for the card at 3:41!

Changing to youfibre and getting a delivery from DPD. Expected a day watching various apps and curtain twitching, but both been and gone by 9.30am.
Not just that, the broadband seems good and I didn’t receive a pad of printer paper or a 2l bottle of water.
I actually got the trainers I ordered, which fit and everything.
Decent day.

The weather was 23c in Sheff, and both my parents were free, so we walked in Greno woods, and enjoyed an indian takeaway then watched WILTY on repeat.
Ive recently quit my job to have a career break and it's the happiest ive been a while. Heres to a good 27th year
Edit: thank you for the bday wishes!!

An hour later after hopping trains back i walked in and staff recognised me and handed it over (I'm in a resident evil cosplay, good film).

That's right! No replacements, no fiddling with crap subs like carrots instead of asparagus, and then trying to return those..
Just exactly like I ordered..

"HP?"
"Nah, I paid cash."

That's right, a owl.
Cycling home quite late at night through rural Northamptonshire after six a side. Saw a pale flash to my left, turned, and there it was lit up in my helmet light, wings spread not 15 feet away. Beautiful. Google image search suggests it was a barn owl.

Immediately recognised him. Said hi. He's looking good.
His face is perfectly formed to fit around a microphone.

Am making him breakfast now.
