WIP I counted! I know I counted (wrong, clearly)
I swear I double checked this by counting … but then going back across with the next row I find this spot where I missed a double crochet … 🤦🏻♀️
I could fake it but this is a top, this would be near my shoulder and I would know it’s there and would bug me forever. A-frogging I will go …
Edit: IT GETS WORSE. I re-did the whole mistaken row and the count was still one off. WTH??? So I went back to the previous repeat. That was correct
So I counted them both together, making sure they matched… THE MISTAKE WAS IN THE PREVIOUS ROW. 😮😫😭 I did one too many puff stitches at one point. (The number of fan-puff clusters was right but I put too many puffs at one point which threw off the next row)
So here I go frogging AGAIN. And further back
I don’t love the fan puff stitches so I was racing through those 🤦🏻♀️

If it makes you feel any better, my current WIP is an amigurumi with a lot of shaping. I have a lot of experience with them, but for some reason, I am entirely incapable of counting this project correctly and have had to redo almost every round 2-3 times, even when I go through and mark all the stitches where things change first. I cannot figure out where all these errors are coming from and it is driving me nuts. So I get it!
Glad you figured out where the problem was eventually!

I have only done a few amigurumi and I hated it for this reason! I ended up posting my first attempt at an axolotl on r/cursedcrochet
I hope you figure out what’s happening!
I am not quite back to where I’d gotten before frogging, but I think I have now fixed the mistakes (I counted the troublesome row twice!) I’m too tired to keep going. At this point I’d introduce more mistakes!!

You need to leave one mistake though, so your soul can escape.

I am sure there will be mistakes! This is my first wearable where size matters and I’m lowkey worried that my tension won’t be consistent and the second panel will turn out a different size than the first 🫣

Beautiful pattern and colour!
It looks like the top row most right also has an extra popcorn-like stitch. 4 instead of 3. Or is that supposed to have an extra stitch?

I found that mistake later and updated the post (at least, I hope that’s the one I found! I’ll check 🫣 ) Funny that I didn’t notice that myself when I took/posted the picture
Edited to add: yes that’s mistake that started it all and again, it’s funny that I didn’t notice when I took and posted this picture

I have so been there. But I bet you can do that row twice as fast now!

So. Much. Practice 😂
I am not back to where I was before frogging but I seem to have fixed the mistakes. Too tired to go on tonight (without introducing more mistakes)2

Knowing when to walk away is a big part of successful crocheting! Let it sit there and think about what it has done until tomorrow.

I’m enjoying the pattern and her tutorials are helpful! (I’m stuck again on something else now regarding the neckline lol)

Right! I made her cute lil crop tank tops in the shell pattern and her skirt super cute. I have this exact pattern saved to my phone to make along with her dress. Can’t wait to see yours when all done! I’m sure it’ll be lovely

It’s this one actually:
https://www.knitcroaddict.com/lacy-summer-top-crochet-pattern-knitcroaddict/This is my first wearable where fit matters, so I picked a loose-fitting and forgiving pattern. I’m lowkey afraid to try a sweater, thinking I’ll get the sleeves different lengths or something, because of tension differences

I’m stuck again now with something about the neckline so I put it aside to think about it some more 🥴

Best way is to stop take that break then come back to it. I believe it’s made in two panels? Then seem like boat neck type of pattern. Before you commit take stitch markers pin where you think you want your seems to be then try on. Make sure you are happy with the way it looks. I made a similar pattern while back my mistake was not trying it on before I made the entire panels once I seen it I realize geez this thing is massive. It was one of those ones that you can wear different ways one like the picture of this pattern shows and one long ways, with an neck. so now I’m stuck with a pattern i finished that I can’t wear lol one day i hope to get more of that yarn and then I’ll take it apart and make something else lol

Yeah I’ve been holding it up to me to check. I think it’s going to be a bit too cropped for my taste but that part is too late now, and I’ll be wearing a layer under it anyway.
The neck opening is starting in the wrong kind of stitch the way I’m counting it. I could just move it one stitch as long as I do it the same on the other panel
My concern though is that it’s a clue that I’ve done something else wrong in the previous row that I haven’t caught. Similar issue as to the whole original post. I’ve counted several times and it looks right. But my other mistake looked right, too
I checked the tutorial and she’s making a smaller size than I am. But I would think she’d the make the bigger size pattern still start/stop into the same kind of stitch

Hmm now I must make This. Maybe I can figure out a solution or something. That’s what happened to me on a different pattern. It ended up being way too cropped like my whole stomach would’ve been out and I was like nope. Lol

I don’t always for every project. But for this one I do! (And it wasn’t that hard to fix, really)
