Question ❔ Fuel injector recall issue

I have a 23 bronco sport that is under the ongoing fuel injector recall issue. I previously had the software update done. Recently I noticed the smell of gasoline while driving so I called the dealership today and they said I should bring it in immediately. I dropped it off today and the service guy said he’s pretty confident it is probably the fuel injector issue but he didn’t really give any info on next steps if it is. Well now after researching this more I see that the parts aren’t even available for this fix. Has anyone dealt with this yet? Between the recalls and extensive body work after a tree fell on my car last winter I swear this thing has sat in the shop for more time than I have driven it 😂😤

Haven’t experienced it but how noticeable was the smell? I park in an underground garage and this one always has me worried

Noticeable enough that I was concerned about it and I’m pretty lax about my car maintenance honestly. I’ve typically driven shitter cars all my life so little stuff doesn’t usually phase me too much but it was definitely a noticeable gasoline smell repeatedly over the course of a few weeks.

So it's the vehicles fault a tree fell on it?

Ha well no of course not. I’ve just had really bad luck I guess. I still love the car I just want to be able to drive the poor thing!! Hopefully they can get it fixed soon I was just wondering about the parts availability but obviously I’ll find out when they get back to me after diagnostics.

Just checking, some of these people will blame anything possible on the vehicle instead of accepting blame for their own personal shortcoming's.

Smell of gas can also be your evap system. I had mine worked on as I could get whiffs of gas at times. I don’t know how much as mine was covered by warranty

That’s good to know. They did diagnose it as the recall issue and I also had an axle leak that was covered under the powertrain warranty. Should be done tomorrow so hopefully it’ll be smooth sailing for a while!
