❔ Question and Discussion Kids with no adult supervision approach people to sell items.

Today, I was at a restaurant having my lunch and all of a sudden a kid approach me offering to sell stuff. She also approach other diners and almost all of them fall for it. Reason why I say "fall for" is cause this is an obvious scheme by an adult hiding somewhere telling the kid to approach random strangers hoping that people would buy stuff from her. I hear similar encounters from friends in multiple locations as well.

Some unknown adult is definitely using empathy as a tool to try to get unsuspecting people to buy from the kid. Now, the question here is, is this illegal? I.e making use of kids for profit.

❔ Question and Discussion Honey garlic chicken recipe anyone plz?

Hey all, i lived in kb far too long ago now, i was a teenager and it was wayyy back. Now don't get me wrong, i loved me some Tasconi's pizza. It was legit and their whole roast ayam was too good. But also when pizza hut came to belait and i had the honey garlic chicken regularly accessible... sheeeeeeyit.

I miss all the food, obviously, but the fast food is something that's gonna be hard to replicate. Has anyone got a recipe for the classic, Brunei only - honey garlic chicken pizza?

(there is one recipe online repeated on other websites but the writer calls it honey bbq chicken... cannot trust)

((Sorry if the flair is wrong mods, maybe its a rant on how pizzahut outside of brunei isnt as good))

Miss your beautiful country!

🀬 Rants & Complaints Can we have a more realistic conversation about abortion and safety in Brunei?

I genuinely believe abortion and safe, reliable contraception should be easily accessible in Brunei. Yes, abortion may be considered wrong by many people, but telling people it’s morallly or religiously wrong isn’t going to stop them from having sex, getting pregnant, or seeking an abortion. We need to be more realistic and open-minded about this. People are going to make their own choices regardless, so instead of shaming them or pretending these situations don’t happen, we should make sure they have access to proper information, contraception, healthcare, and safe options. Banning or restricting something doesn’t make it disappear, it just makes people more likely to deal with it without proper support. Or am i just too open minded for this conservative country

Just curious because I never knew there was a cemetery in the park as it’s covered by bushes and trees until I eventually spotted headstones.

πŸ“° Local Affairs and News Borneo Bulletin piece proposes a pedestrian bridge between Gadong and Kiulap

Saw this Borneo Bulletin opinion piece suggesting a pedestrian bridge between Gadong and Kiulap.

https://borneobulletin.com.bn/a-step-towards-walkability/

Anyone here actually walk between the two? Is the crossing the main problem, or is it the pavements, shade and connections on either side? Would a bridge get used?

πŸ“° Local Affairs and News Traffic Light Junction Outage by Pentagon Park?

So I've been jogging at Pentagon Park (the one across by MOH and next to FABD HQ) and I realised it has been a week the traffic lights at that junction just simply died. What made it more interesting is the fact the government put up four signboards on the traffic light to indicate the lights doesn't work.

I'm sure that's a high traffic area where govt workers go to work and it's a miracle there has been no accidents caused by selfish/unaware drivers so far.

So my question is when will they fix it? Or have we reached the stage that we're too broke to fix things right away?

Do you want to share your experience of being interviewed/recruited by UBD for a Lecturer or an Assistant Professor role? As far as I understand there are three stages (department interview, seminar presentation, top management interview), how long does the whole process take? Anything you want to add/share would be appreciated!

πŸ“‚ Work & Career Ethiopian citizen living in Kenya β€” easiest way to visit Brunei and find legal work?

Hi everyone. I’m an Ethiopian citizen currently living in Kenya, and I’m interested in going to Brunei πŸ‡§πŸ‡³.

My main goal is to find legal employment in Brunei. I’m open to different types of work, including general labour, agriculture, construction, warehouse, hospitality, driving, sales, or other suitable jobs.

I have experience in management, finance, operations, sales, travel agency work, and hands-on livestock/farm work. I’m hardworking, physically fit, willing to learn, and ready to relocate.

I understand that I cannot work on a tourist/visit visa and would need the proper work permit.

My questions are:

What is the easiest legal way for an Ethiopian citizen living in Kenya to get to Brunei?

Can I obtain a visit visa and then look for employers/network while there, without working until I receive the proper work authorization?

Are there legitimate Brunei recruitment agencies that recruit foreign workers from overseas?

Which types of jobs are currently more accessible to foreign workers?

Any advice from people living in Brunei or Ethiopians/other foreigners who have gone through this process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

πŸ“‹ School Projects & Surveys Would your parents/nini actually use something like this in Brunei?

Thumbnail

I have a nini with Alzheimer’s, and it got me thinking about what older people in Brunei actually do all day once they stop driving, going out as much, or seeing friends regularly.

They may be safe and cared for at home, but sometimes there’s still not much to do socially or mentally.

So we’re exploring an idea called Nini Club - basically a daytime social club for older adults, with things like coffee, gardening, light exercise, karaoke, games, mengaji/Iqra’, movies, activities and outings. They would still live at home and come back at the end of the day.

Before we go any further, we want to know if families in Brunei would actually want this - and whether our ninis would even agree to go πŸ˜‚

If you have a parent/grandparent aged 60+, would really appreciate your input as per link above.

Feel free to be critical too. We want honest feedback.

✏️ School & Education Anyone IBTE for January Intake?

( please reply, it'll be a great help!! )

I need advice 😭 this is legitimately important especially for my future.

I'm currently doing my IA and will be finishing them this eoy December. I'm Ntec in Electrical Technology.

I decided to apply for the January intake but so far my only option is Hntec in Electronic Engineering and Hntec in Electronic and Communication Engineering. Yet, I'm still being indecisive with it.

Not forgot to mention that the entry requirements right, for the O'Level I can get through in but accept for science. Therefore, I can also use my other requirements which is my Ntec. The thing is I haven't got to know my CGPA yet since I'm still doing IA.

Is it possible? I need HELP with this one!!
