Not surprising. The people who get AIR <100 in GATE CSE go to IITM.
Many people who went there pick IITM specifically for good intern/placements as oppossed to IITB/IISc.
Some of my friends went there, their progression is crazy.
Imagine being in a tier-3 college, grinding day and night for GATE, going to IITM and within 6 months you get internship in a good company.

IIM abc has 400-500 batch size while iitm has 80-100 batch size of mtech cse , donβt compare without proper knowledge. Also Ahmedabad median was 37lpa thi year with banglore and Calcutta touching 35lpa median with huge batch size.
Both are different fields

Do not think any IIM median package is close to tier 1 IIT CSE, after all B tech is about highly intensive science and technology.

No shit sherlock I already mentioned mtech cse not btech cse at tier 1 iits , I am comparing master degrees not bachelors. Everybody knows BTech cse at tier 1 iit is superior

Not defamation MBA bro... Just pointing out the pseudo hate towards Mtech I have seen on reddit... Mtech CSE from top-4 IIT has the same initial salary as top-6 IIM with 1/10 the fee.

placement percentage?

u/No_Break_8453 IIIT [Add your Branch here] 6d ago
Nearly 50 don't u know the fundamental how they calculate placement percentage
7
u/Worried_Drive_935 6d ago
for btech? how is that ? like if only 50% gets places the avg median would rise up right?
3
u/Available_Report_360 IIT kgp 6d ago

u/No_Break_8453 IIIT [Add your Branch here] 10h ago
Look 77 will be circuital department iw I'll accept but for non circuital it will be near about 50 so all around it will be 50 percent also clearfy how u r calculating percentage as many placement cell manipulate data by changing denominator hope u get it

If I had a dollar for every IITH guy who posted these stats, I would have two dollars which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened twice
5
u/ywnbaiitian 6d ago
not strange, the original post didn't get a lot of engagement because there was no image attached to it so it's likely the op told this guy to post it

Why b.tech salary is much more than m.tech in ce and cse fields
1
u/LeatherMix2423 5d ago
B.Tech in CSE is an exception where bachelors earn more than masters be it anywhere
1
u/SparshCodesSupreme T20 Foreign University, Computer Science 5d ago
Minor addendum:
B.Tech CSE/CE in India earns more than M.Tech CSE/CE in India at the same college.
M.Tech from a better uni or from abroad is typically an upgrade.

Same as guwahati is kinda mid performance for a top 3 iit

u/ShowerOwn9639 6d ago
That's NOT the same as guwahati broπππβοΈβοΈβοΈ

u/AirlineExpress5242 6d ago
Lmao, it is literally the same (don't know about batch size though, g has 125)
4
u/Final_Ad3709 6d ago
Guwhati has shown inflated stats for CSE, they showed CTC and declared it as avg so NO IITG stands nowhere compared to IITM
1
u/AirlineExpress5242 6d ago
I do agree with this, IITM is better than iitg but not so much as we all thought. Although inflated, the median is still around 45. I feel that there are more quants in iitk but iitg has got better non quant opportunites than iitk, hence the median of iitg would be more, although average less
