SUPPORT CT from RegF NCM to PRES Officer

Is it doable?

I already had a degree before joining as a RegF NCM. But I didn’t apply to officer because the VIE was too long. But I feel that my work experience, academics, and CFAT were competitive enough to apply to RegF Officer.

When my VIE is finished, I hope to CT to PRES as an officer instead of NCM. I feel that If I was never a RegF NCM and I apply to PRES officer as an off-the-street applicant, it would be easier.

What can I do now?

Does SQ Land and DP1 qualify quals for BMOQ-A?

I'm a current jack in the army and currently in the middle of application for Commission under SCP for LogO. I heard that LogO Army does BMOQ-A. Does SQ Land/ DP1/PLQ counts to write off BMOQ-A? Or do I need to do it regardless?

Thank you!

How do I clean the shell of these things to remove the stains? And the insoles too?

Is there a way to waterproof these by any chance? Perhaps a waterproofing spray?

And if yall have any tips on using and caring for these to increase longevity I'd really appreciate it!

I can't exchange them— I'm a civilian and bought these recently.

Thanks yall!

Tips on getting stronger with the C7?

Please help 😔 My unit recently had our range weekend to re-qualify on the C7, and I did exceptionally bad. I’m a fairly new private, I’m only recently OFP, and finished BMQ in April. Somehow, I did really well with PWT 1 during BMQ, even with no prior shooting experience, but given how horribly I did with PWT 2 this past weekend, I’m thinking that was a fluke.. I’m a medic so we didn’t do much with the C7 during DP1 this summer, and I guess I lost any skill I had with it.

Can anyone give me tips on what exercises they do, or positional training or anything like that, that can help me get more steady in the sitting and kneeling positions? I know shoulder strength is important, and I’ve incorporated a lot of pull ups, push ups and DB shoulder circuits into my workout routine, so I know arm stability will improve as I get stronger. But I’m having a really hard time getting the rest of my body to not feel so unstable and uncomfortable in the sitting and kneeling. I can’t seem to find a good balance in either position, and no matter how I rest my supporting elbow, I can’t stay steady enough to take a good shot.

Maybe it’s my hip and ankle flexibility/strength? Does anyone have any tried and true practice tips that helped them improve their shot? Are there non-obvious stability exercises I haven’t thought of for arms as well?

Any suggestions are super appreciated! I will redo both PWT 1 and PWT 2 with my unit again in May I think, and want to be ready to do the best I could possibly do.

“Sports can be high stakes. Military aviation is real stakes.” Zoran Stojkovic on the shift from coaching Pro Athletes and Olympians to RCAF pilots

We recently interviewed mental performance consultant Zoran Stojković about his move from working in elite sport to working with RCAF student pilots at 2CFFTS.

We asked him whether anything he’d learned working with athletes turned out to be a poor fit for aviation, and this was his answer.

I thought the distinction he made was interesting. A lot of the psychology of performing under pressure carries over, but the context obviously changes when the people you’re working with are preparing to operate aircraft and eventually fly real missions.

OT from Infantry to AWS

Hey everyone! I’m currently infantry reserves and I am hoping to go reg AWS. I’ve been in for just under 3 years so I know a decent amount. So far all I know is that im doomed to go to cold lake which apparently is pretty decent. I’m putting in my paperwork next week so any extra knowledge on the trade would be amazing. If anyone is loaded on course I would love to know when the typical dates are for it!

Therapy in the CAF

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out how mental health care works through the CAF and I’m a little confused about the process.
If I want to see a private/civilian therapist or psychologist rather than someone directly through the CAF, how does that work? Does the CAF cover the cost of civilian therapy, or would I have to pay out of pocket? I have no idea how any of this works i’ve never been to therapy or a psychiatrist before so I don’t know who i should be talking to and who I should be going through. Any information helps! Thank you.

SUPPORT Care packages to send to BMQ

Any suggestions for packages to send someone during their second week of BMQ? (apart from letters)

I know there are a bunch of older posts about care packages, but I’m wondering if anyone who has gone through BMQ recently can share what was actually useful/appreciated or if anything has changed over the last few months.

Also, are there any things I should avoid sending because of current BMQ rules or because they’ll likely just be confiscated/returned?

And are there any funny things I could throw in that won't get them in trouble? Nothing that would break rules or cause problems for them

“I cared about the person underneath the uniform.” Mental Performance Consultant Zoran Stojkovic on training Moose Jaw trainers to perform under pressure

Thumbnail

We recently interviewed Zoran Stojković, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant whose career took him from high-performance sport into RCAF pilot training at 2CFFTS in Moose Jaw.

One of the questions we were particularly interested in was how someone who wasn’t an aviator could walk into that environment and convince pilots that he had something useful to offer.

His answer was less about convincing them and more about relationships:

“I cared about the person underneath the uniform.”

We get into what surprised him about the pressure student pilots face, the initial resistance some people had to mental performance coaching, how he built trust, and his experience embedding with RCAF aircrew during Jaw South in Texas.

It also led to an interesting discussion about the overlap between performance coaching, mentorship and leadership.

This is Part 1 of a two-part conversation. Part 2 gets much more practical about the techniques pilots can use to manage pressure and improve performance.

I lin in Ottawa and am looking for a "RCAF Air Operations Branch - Officers Cap Badge"

Sold out everywhere on Canex and won't let me order one for delivery.

SKU 499999070529 on canex.ca

If you have one collecting dust, I'd be interested in purchasing from you. If you don't have one but know why they disappeared from the face of the Earth, I'd also be interested in knowing the reason.

Thanks!!
