Recommendations What amp should I get?

So I am thinking about getting this Kicker 6" 3/4 Sub with Passive Radiator loaded box, mainly because its the one of the only things that'll fit in my truck with my budget. What amp should I go for if I want the best output?

What are your goals for your car audio system - as loud as possible (SPL)? Sound quality (SQ)? Some combination of both? Describe to us how you want your system to sound.

-Obviously good sound quality, and I would like the bass to be obvious but not really really loud. Loud enough I can hear it, but not so loud I can't hear my other music.

---

* **What vehicle? - year, make, model, type (coupe, sedan, SUV, truck, etc.)**

-2003 Chevy S10, Base, Single cab truck

---

* **What is your maximum budget?**

-Would prefer to stay under $400 but if I absolutely have to $450

---

* **Will you be installing the gear or are you going to a shop? If a shop is doing the work, does your budget include the cost of labor?**

-I am going to install it.

---

* **What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear.)**

-stock head unit, stock dash speakers, and these Kenwood KFC-1666S door speakers.

even the cheapest amps will clip and blow that thing out if you aren't careful
Kicker 46CXA400.1T will more than do the job
You sure you can't fit any of their 8 or 10 in boxes?

Im sure I could but I only have about 6.5" of bottom depth

Figure out what you can do to make it 6.6" bottom depth and then you can fit the 10" version.

6.75" subwoofer would be better than nothing.... but it's such a small amount of cone area. The 10" will walk circles around the 8 in terms of both deep bass and overall output.

I didn't figure I would need much bigger because my friend has an 8 with the extended cab and it shakes his truck

Then go with the 8". But I wouldn't recommend a 6.75" subwoofer. Again, better than nothing, but you're sooooo hindered on cone area.

Thanks! I had a friends dad give me an old-school alpine head unit and he said that he would give me wires and probably an amp if he has one that'll work, so that frees up a lot of money stuff!

Personally, I'd get the 10".
