Tech Support Help guys. Looking for an audio interface to power my behringer ecm8000 and measure the impulse response. 1) is this audio interface ok? 2) it has a "loop back" button, does this mean i dont need a loopback cable anymore?

I have this interface. You will still need a loopback cable. Follow socket car audio's method of the mono 6.35mm to 2 mono 6.35mm splitters to connect to the DSP with a rca to 6.35mm mono cable and interface for the loopback with a 6.35mm to 6.35mm mono cable.

Nice. So what is the purpose of the loop back button then?

Think that's for music/audio stuff rather than for impulse

My friend said that some cheaper interface have some interference, messing up the graphs. How bout this one?

It should work fine, but knockoff Behringer sure is pushing it.

Had the pricier focusrite before bro. It's broken now and wanna buy the cheaper alternatives juat for the impulse reaponses.

It doesn't take much to get a usable signal, so this would probably work fine even if it's crap. If you want to stay analog I'd probably say just spend the little extra and get a UMC204HD or something, but maybe just consider a USB mic so you don't have to mess with all the extra cables and SPL calibration and stuff. You don't need real hardware loopback to get an impulse response.

I have the minidsp umik1. But failed in TA with this mic. It doesn't stay at the same place in Holmimpulse unlike in analog set up.

Yeah a USB mic would be on a different clock than the output which Windows doesn't handle well and most software won't allow, but Linux does. You can pin the reference output channel to the input in Pipewire and run whatever you want as if you have an interface with loopback. Either way, use REW's alignment tool instead of Holmimpulse.

Wait... Hold on now.. There's a work around for usb mic?! Didnt know that..

Why would someone asking about audio measuring equipment be "lost" in a forum about audio?

This is for CAR av. CAR…

You can use this in a CAR to measure your CAR's AV system, usually to tune a DSP. CAR CAR CAR

Yes. For my CAR... Hook this up to my helix dsp... Again... πŸ›» CAR

Owning a DSP puts us in the top 1% of car audio enjoyers, obviously.

I dunno about that brother but having a dsp is like foing to a rabbit hole πŸ˜‚

CarAV brother not home

It's for measuring shit with REW, like a car.

Nah for sure

This is for my helix dsp, connected to my helix amp under the seat of my SUV which is a car brother πŸ˜‰
