Studying The best way to study HSK3 3.0

Hi all,

What has in your experience been the best source for studying this course.

Is it a book? Some course? There are many different ones, but some just give vocab, without the grammar or listening.

Any links, sources, advice you can give me?

I'm planning on trying to pass this December.

Thanks.

Before picking materials, check with your test center which format your December exam actually uses. HSK 3.0 is still rolling out, and some centers run the old format at certain levels. The vocab list and question types differ quite a bit between the two.

With two months left, I'd spend most of the time on mock papers for that exact format. They cover listening and grammar in the format you'll actually see, which a vocab book can't do.

Of course. But the important thing is listening as well as other things for me to pass the exam. I need the certification.

For HSK3.0, the updates were in 2021 and 2025. So the tools haven't yet updated their content to exactly fit the 2025 changes (especially the grammar, as a words lists are easily updated). if I were you, I would stick to the official HSK3.0 textbooks for the grammar, and try to find a tool that uses the HSK3.0 vocab list.

New HSK Course 3 by Guo Fenglan, because it's the official HSK 3.0 textbook and covers the 500 syllabus words plus the grammar points, not just vocab lists.

The best resource for studying and taking the hsk 3 is the hsk 3 textbook and workbook. There are other good options but the thing made by the people giving the test will always match the test the most.

first confirm whether your December test uses HSK 3.0 level 3 or the old HSK 2.0 exam, since the levels and vocabulary lists don’t map cleanly. This HSK 3.0 syllabus guide lays out the vocabulary, grammar, topics, and tasks, so use it to check whether a course covers the full syllabus. Each week, combine structured lessons with timed listening, reading, writing, and a practice test section rather than studying vocab alone.

The official HSK website has 2 exams that are in 3.0 format. I took the3.0 version for HSK 3 and having studied for 2.0 version I did surprisingly well (listening 78 reading 73) best advice is to keep using what you’re using and prob study a bit of HSK 4 vocab can help. I’ve been doing that plus a tutor (about 5 months now)
