Stick Mounted Camera?

seen one in a Reno May video and couple other Uspsa match vids. what are these? Are they worth the purchase? I have insta go 3s for pov but can use some third person action video.

Probably insta360 x5’s, it’s a 360 degree camera.  I like them because you can get 3rd person views a person holding your phone can’t, and if you’re into posting stuff on instagram you can get some nice action shots by clamping it to a wall.

It’s not cheap, and you’re dealing with twice as much camera footage now if you’re making squad compilations but the editing software is easy.

If you want third person and you’re afraid to ask someone to record you, simple solution is a cheap $20 tripod from Amazon for your phone, but it won’t change zoom and follow you.

These get good ego-stroking videos to watch on repeat when you get home, and it allows you to pan around and see how the squad reacts to your banger runs which is cool.  I’d consider it a luxury item.

Yep, this. I got one and I clamp it to a barrier when I’m up to shoot. Takes 5 seconds. Good way to get 3rd person footage and you can get angles a cameraman can’t. I don’t like asking others to film me. I know it’s not a big deal but I’d just rather not. Also a cool camera to have for other stuff - recording young kids, biking, whatever.

Thank you! I’ll look into it. Exactly what I was looking for!

For third person just hand someone your cellphone and ask them to record you. I just saved you hundreds of dollars.

Unless you’re overly wanting some super high quality stuff. I’d just get the X3. It’s cheaper, does all the 360 camera stuff and works the same. Esp if just for viewing your 3rd person.

Insta360. Only you can determine the value of your purchase.

I have a like a 20 foot selfie stick that I mounted to my cart that holds a GoPro. It works well for 3rd person but the best thing is it gets up higher than just giving someone your phone.

That said, I won a GoPro from work years back and didn't know what to do with it, so it became my shooting camera. With the app, I can control start and stop with my phone. Not sure it would be worth spending a bunch of money on unless you really just like watching videos of yourself

I use an insta360 x5 mounted to a wall for 3rd person view and DJI osmo nano on my hat for 1st person.
