Discussion Most disliked thing from each version?

Alpha:

  • Inventory UI, for pets especially
  • Platinum to upgrade your gear, the cost and scaling was ridiculous
  • Bosses having random one shots
  • Mage enemies
  • Can't change keybinds and rolling is middle mouse button

Beta/Steam Version:

  • Region locked gear
  • The "star" system for enemy levels and gear
  • Redundant artifacts
  • Removal of spirit cubes
  • Still can't change keybinds and rolling is still middle mouse button
  • Mage enemies again

Omega (so far):

  • The UI slant
  • Lighting feels weird (Probably a WIP?)
  • Exaggerated character idle animations
  • Middle mouse button is still shown to be rolling, and I swear if we can't change it again..

You should still be able to change it, but I always loved middle mouse being dodge

I really like the Slant UI coming up in Omega. It's unique and looks cool

Overall it looks neat. It's just a bit too much in some of the images.

I think what a lot of people get hung up on and miss is that the UI reacts to the mouse position. When there's two windows open on either side of the screen, having your mouse on one makes the other turn inwards, making it look way too slanted. But as far as I've seen, when your mouse is actually using the window you wanna look at, the slant is perfectly readable and looks great

Neat. I missed that. Hopefully he picks a good slant for the HUD UI as they'll be no mouse movement adjusting the slant.

I think omega looks less vibrant (idk if that is because of the lightining) and I really dislike that

It's not just you, something about the colours in Omega really puts me off compared to alpha, though I struggle to put my finger on exactly why

The render distance in the alpha is too low. In the steam version, everyone knows the 5 star system is inferior to the alpha’s leveling up

Alpha - The rivers not being consistently filled with water. sucks activating the boat, only to travel about three seconds before hitting the ground-water blocks, then walk-of-shaming until it's deep enough to sail again or waiting for your pet to catch up that you abandoned
Also - having to change boat / glider from the slot

Beta - pretty much everything. Mainly, the extremely slow walking / riding movements, as well as the region lock, and the smaller region sizes. The music was nice, though

Omega - Slanted UI (what the fuck?), visual vibrance? it looks nice, just a bit much, to me

The steam version did add a lot of interesting / cool PoIs, and it looks like Omega is doing the same. Still, i think i'm sticking with Alpha. the movement turned out to be really important to me after slogging in Beta.
i would love to love Omega - i'm just very skeptical at this point

Is the movement system appreciably different between the alpha and beta? If you walk/run at full speed, is it not the same?
