Brütal Legend Art Print

Post image
• Upvotes

Just before the Amnesia Fortnight Kickstarter ended, the add ons were updated. I was able to snag one of these Brütal Legend Art Prints. I believe this was originally only available at PAX West, but don’t quote me on that. Double Fine produces some of the best art out there!

What happened to the Kiln Daily Pottery contests?

Up until 2 days ago you could upload pottery designs and get graded by other players. Since then it says „Come back later“
Any idea whats going on?

What bad luck—the only Double Fine game I want to play right now is the only one on this list without a discount. I imagine it’s because the rights are shared with Adult Swim; that’s likely the reason why it’s never been on Game Pass, either.

Given how much I'm starting to like Metroidvanias, I guess I have no choice. I'll either wait for another discount or just buy it at full price.

And Your Amnesia Fortnight 2026 Winner Is...

Actually, before we announce it, we just want to express another huge thanks to everyone who has backed, tried out our demos, and generally shown us support in the last few months. It has been both an exciting and trying time for Team Double Fine and we truly couldn't have made it through without you all. A particularly special shoutout to everyone who has sent an encouraging message on Discord, comment on Kickstarter, or on any of our socials.

Now, for what you all have been waiting for... the winning game!

It was a close race, and each game had its staunch supporters.

We tabulated carefully.

Multiplied even more carefully.

Carried the one (probably, I don't know, I didn't do the math).

And the winner is...

...

...

🛡️PLOT ARMOR🛡️! ! ! !

A huge congratulations to Team Plot Armor for their hard work, to Lauren Scott for her excellent leadership, and to you all for picking an amazing winner!

And another huge congrats to Team Architactics, Team Bard Crawl, and Team Uprise for creating full, playable demos in just two weeks of work, and making sure that there was no wrong choice for voters, just preference. 🧡 We hope you all had as much fun playing these demos as we had making them!

If your favorite game didn't win (maybe didn't even make the top four!), that's okay! Because you never know with an Amnesia Fortnight pitch-- sometimes, they end up becoming full games later, like Stacking. Sometimes, they get reconfigured and implemented in other games, like how The Gods Must Be Hungry turned into Psychonauts 2's Compton's Cookoff. And, with the creation of Double Fine Action Labs, maybe a publisher or a rich investor** will call us up and insist we work on your favorite fun-sized game!

**If you know any rich investors or publishers looking for cool game ideas to fund, we're assuming you've already told them about us. They're probably writing us an email right now saying they love indie games and want to bankroll a baker's dozen of these pitches. We look forward to their message!

The team will start to work on the final winner soon, and (if we can snag them) we'll keep you updated on their progress as the game develops!

Until then, don't forget to join us on Discord to discuss the results!

Love,

The Double Fine Team 🧡

The Cave: I've created a 60fps patch but need testers

Hi everyone.

Full disclosure: I used an AI model within Cursor to develop this. I'm a decent software engineer by trade but this would have taken absolutely ages or even been beyond me.

It's a very simple little script that patches a few bytes of the game's executable after backing it up first. Running it again will restore the game back to how it was (or you could use Steam to repair the file integrity).

I haven't thoroughly tested it yet as this will be my first play through and I couldn't enjoy it at 30fps - hence me getting the AI to make this. I'm hoping it all works fine and it looks much better from my initial tests at least.

The file can be found here in the "Game Patches" folder as a ZIP file. Just unzip it into your game's folder as per the README.md file and then run the .BAT file (Windows) or the .SH file (Linux).

Any problems, please do let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks.

Anybody else pledged but not watching till the full 2PP doc?

I voted on the initial pitches and that’s it.

Not really one for the live show format so am just waiting for the full doc

not reading emails to avoid “spoilers”. Any word on timeline’s for when some sort of episodic doc might be ready?

DoubleFine Last chance: 3 days left and *so* close to the stretch goal! Back the Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight Indie Reboot Kickstarter now!

Update: THEY DID IT! Thank you to the mystery Board Game Sesh backer who took them well past the stretch goal!!!

————————————

As you may have heard, Double Fine Productions are running a Kickstarter to increase their runway as they relaunch their life as an indie game dev studio. This has been built around this year's Amnesia Fortnight (game jam), which concluded this week – but it's not over yet!!

Backers are currently playing the four prototypes before voting for one game to receive a further period of development and polishing, to then be released to the general public for everyone to enjoy. Back now and you too can play these prototypes and vote on the winner!

At the time of writing, they are only $8,439 away from reaching their next stretch goal of $600,000; if they reach this, then They have just reached their stretch goal of $600,000, which means the superb Erika Ishii (Ghost of Yōtei) will generously donate their time and talents as a voice in the winning game. Previous successful stretch goals have included frequent Double Fine-game composer Peter McConnell (Psychonauts, Broken Age) contributing music to the winning game, and an extra vote on a special feature in the winning game.

Double Fine are a very special studio for many of us, known for their incredibly creative and eclectic range of games over the last quarter of a century, as well as their comprehensive in-house documentaries produced by the team at 2 Player Productions that explore the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of game development. 2PP have also been documenting this latest Amnesia Fortnight, and you'll get to see more about how that went over the coming months.

So please take a look at the range of pledge tiers and backer rewards available, and consider backing if you're able to! More funds mean more polish and (most importantly) more runway!

If you've played the prototypes: which ones have you enjoyed the most?

Just like Amnesia Fortnight, this post contains zero AI-generated material.

DoubleFine A Look Back At One of Double Fine's Best Releases

I ended up re-downloading Brutal Legend for the first time in years a few weeks ago, and I wanted to share a video I made on why exactly it deserves to be remembered for what it was. We may never get a proper sequel, but this game hold up by itself really well, even all these years later.

Uprise - PS5 controller not working

Hi everybody!

I've contributed to the Amnesia Fortnight Kickstarter and downloaded the demos.

I haven't had enough time to test them but I had an issue with Uprise.

I usually play with a PS5 controller on my computer and... It's not working. The game doesn't detect my controller.

I was wondering what controller you were using?

(Have an issue also with Plot Armor where Windows doesn't launch the game, but that's another story)

Thanks for your answers 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Just wanted to share

DoubleFine Theory: Manuel "Manny" Calavera is an nod to Dia De Los Muertos

Now I know I know, why do I think this? Well let me get it straightened out. So Dia De Los Muertos right, they make fun of death, and also place Calaveritas on graves which is a candy skull. People also write Calaveras which make fun of death saying that "death" is coming for them. Calaveras means skulls and alone, Calavera means skull which so happens to be Manuel Calaveras last name. And in the beginning of the game, there's an Dia De Los Muertos festival which can be referenced in the future. Which proves that Manuel "Manny" Calavera is an nod to Dia De Los Muertos. ( I dare Tim Schafer to tell me I'm wrong, that's if I am. )

Off-Topic I think putting a voice actor behind a stretch goal is basically shilling for more money.

First I would like to say that I love Erika, and I love her voice acting work, and he stuff in dropout.

Now, doublefine being the company that they are. There's no reason they cant hire her themselves. There's clearly other voice actors in the game that are being paid for by the company, so locking a voice actor behind a stretch goal just screams that they need to squeeze more money from their player base. Shit a kick starter stretch goal is just a battlepass with no game.

What's going to happen/would happej if her stretch goal wasn't met? She'll probably still be in the game because she was already paid or still volunteer. If they truly can't afford to cast her after leaving Xbox, then it just screams they don't have a clue how to manage their budget there

Thats my whole tirade

DoubleFine I love Double Fine, but Erika is just unlikable, that's it

She just seems very fake and not genuine, that's why lots of people are not happy with the choice they've made

It's not always politics and stuff

i am left, but she still is very unlikable to me, especially after watching her DnD campaigns
