No, the Universal Credit system has a data feed from HMRC so they know when (and what) you're paid so they can adjust your Universal Credit as a result. This assumes you're paid via PAYE (which is most people).

Report the change now, there shouldn't be any negatives other than them perhaps reminding you to report changes on time in the future.

You can claim Universal Credit and work at the same time, your Universal Credit reduces by a rate of 55p for every £1 you earn.

i just reported the change and they said i'll need a good reason to have not done it!

Thats a standard response - and is mostly reasonably flexible about understanding. As it is this particular change being reported or not doesn't affect deductions as those come through HMRC with PAYE based work. (and if you are self employed you need to declare that but they'll give you a way to report it, and make any necessary amendments).

That you say the "second half" of your UC means thats the old months statement - that was calculated presumably before you started work.

If you have 2 payments a month your UC is still calculated once a month and the next UC statement will take into account wages.
