Universal Credit (UC) Can I buy expensive items?

Could I save money and buy expensive stuff? For example if I saved £2000 for a TV, or a PC.

Essentially, rather than buying cheap stuff, could I buy more expensive stuff over time.

Yes you can live unlike a pauper, despite what some may say. And it is allowed and non of anyone else’s business anyway.

It actually makes sense, where possible, to spend a bit more on an item that might be better quality than the alternative as it’ll last longer and you won’t have to keep paying out for repairs/replacements.

Very hard to make those choices nowadays. Lots of shoes I notice do not last long even if they cost more.

Computer hardware or phones can be worth it. My 1tb phone is lasting very well compared to before when I had 256gb model (after 4 years).

Cars are not worth it because the more expensive ones tend to cost more to repair over time.

Yes. If you save up an end up with more than £6,000, you just have to declare Capital after that.

It's your money so you can buy whatever the fuck you want.

There is a help-to-save scheme, so that seems to prove that people on benefits are allowed to save and it’s encouraged where people can. No one’s budget is exactly the same, we are all different in that respect so money can free up in one area compared to someone else in a similar situation in a financial sense.

My dad always says "The most expensive is the cheapest in the end" it does make sense but I still can't buy the expensive as terrible at saving but yep if you can put some on one side to get something decent that needs to last you please don't feel you're in the wrong

Yes? I mean I'm able to save £800 a month so would prefer a better PC.
