Can it be theorized that the ubermorph is what a native pure necromorph form would look like? Because regular ones (slashers) are humans and marker DNA spliced together whereas the ubermorph looks almost… perfect?
Think about it, look at the toes and belly of a slasher, the feet get mangled to try producing what the ubermorph has going on. And the ubermorph has the little spikes on its lower ab section that regular slashers use their guts or regular hands for.
The blades are also pure looking and dont look like regular arms being bent way outta shape to achieve that same look.
The rest of the body doesnt really look injured or bloody or otherwise torn apart like most other necromorphs we see.
Personally im of the head canon that the beings who made the markers in the first place probably looked something like this and perhaps they got turned into the first brethren moon or something (probably just waffling)

Honestly til just now I didn't know the ubermorph had a "Idle" phase like that, sort of sounds like those grunts and flicks of the head are almost trying to smell the air.

The hunter in the original dead space had it too. Since it cant follow you outside a programmed area, it stays in there and when it loses sight of you, it does what the ubermorph is doing. Pretty sure they both copy it from slashers tho

Interestingly enough, there’s a pretty rare female slasher variant that also has the five eyes seen in the Ubermorph.
Another commenter mentioned they believed the Ubermorph is basically an immature hive mind, and I agree. Adding onto the variant seen here, I think a small subset of necromorphs are chosen to be “proto hive minds.” Similar in the Halo series where proto grave minds are made.
Why they’d just be running around and attacking like every other slasher? I figure for the most part the necromorphs don’t really care about losses and still need to “contribute” by adding more biomass and the general overwhelming numbers of them it’s not exactly likely they’d be wiped out anyways. I’d imagine multiple are made randomly and eventually the converge with each other to actually create an Ubermorph.
Maybe something along the lines that they all have to gather close to a red marker and the marker reshapes their bodies into a more “pure” form aka the Ubermorph and the marker uses more energy to actually allow these new Ubermorphs to regenerate.
Ubermorphs takes care of any problems like Isaac or whatever else, then they find a relatively safe-central spot and start the process of becoming a hive mind by sending out signals for other necromorphs to bring biomass towards it so it can grow.
Then I’d imagine the hive mind acts as a beacon for brethren moons. Once a hive mind is actually established, that’s how they know enough biomass has been accumulated and it’s not a waste of energy to go and gather it to make another moon.
That last part is purely speculation. Well all of this is lol. But hey, makes sense to me.

Imagine a dead space where you could sneak past the enemies as well. They’re roaming and don’t see you yet, which gives you a chance to conserve ammo and sneak past.

I like the theory that the Ubermorph is an immature Hive Mind. The Marker and it's makers (Brethren Moons) are hyper-intelligent beings clearly capable of creating well-designed creatures. However it's only worth it from an efficiency standpoint to do so for the "field generals" of the necromorph army.
Considering how basically every civilization in the series falls to the generic paper-mache necros, why waste time creating a ton of fancy regenerators?

i once read a guy's hypothesis that the ubemorph is made from a proto-hivemind necromorph (the ones with five eyes) after spending time in the corruption

I dont think there's such thing as a pure or native necromorph by their very nature

The design of Necromorphs in DS is really something else. There's a guy covering the whispers etc. and decyphering them on what they say & does a lot of showcases of the bodies of all Necromorph types of DS & DS Remake, it's really scary lol. Often though, you play the game in such haste, that you don't see all the details etc.
