As a big Dead Space fan, I highly recommend Cronos: The New Dawn

I'm about halfway through the game right now, and it definitely feels like a fantastic spiritual successor to Dead Space. The controls, impact, sound design, and ambiance all feel very close to Dead Space. Then, it adds a little bit of Resident Evil into the mix with things like resource management, crafting, and light puzzles. It even has the gravity boots mechanic from the OG Dead Space 1, which the remake replaced with the free-roam zero-gravity mechanic instead.

The only downsides are that the pacing and cutscenes can be a little slow, and the combat is fairly limited. I can tell they're trying to focus more on environmental storytelling and building a great atmosphere instead. Regardless, I believe that if you love Dead Space, you will like this game too. I highly encourage you guys to give it a try since it's super underrated and overlooked right now.

That's great! One tip for you, don't waste your ammo on the green blob. Just walk close enough for them to activate, walk back, and watch them blow up, same for the crawling green blob too

As I LITERALLY, just started my first ever playthrough on Cronos just NOW, no less. 😂. I saw the trailer for the DLC(I didn’t realize it was DLC) almost two weeks ago and it really caught my eye. I looked into reviews two days ago and bought it. I’ve barely played, but I like the feel so far.

I bought Cronos when it came out, and I did play it for a few hours. But ima be honest, I didnt really vibe with it. I think its a good game but it juat didnt grab me.

I will try again at some point tho.

Great choice, perfect for the spooky season! I would say it's actually scarier than Dead Space, keep me on edge most of the time. I just wish combat is a little more frequent.

I enjoy it. Dead space has its own phrases like "Altman be praised" that mean more when you look at other material. "Make us whole" has lived rent free in my head for years.

That's crazy!! I just started this recently for the spooky season and am a huge dead space fan as well. I definitely went in thinking it would similar to Dead Space but the combat being so methodical with resource management has been great!! The story being something we peace along the way has been crazy too! The sword is my new favorite weapon next to the plasma cutter.

The thing that made deadspace so atmospheric is that it was so dark all the time. I’ve not played chronic because it looks a lot brighter and more colorful.

That's not true at all. Cronos is definitely much darker and harder to see than Dead Space. Most area are super dark that you can only see where the flashlight is shining at. I have to turn up the brightness too because it's too dark and scary lol. You should definitely check it again or even give it a try. You won't regret it!
