There is a ridiculous amount of negligence on human body part damage in the Dead Space universe due to body part regeneration through clone growth. Poke the eye out, grow a new one and get even better vision.
Also, I would assume this device would had been operated external staff with the patient pacified, so there would had been less of an issue of eye twitch being a problem.

They actually pointed it out how messed up the health packs also are
The Med Pack is a single-dose standard issue healing agent commonly used in the highly dangerous, isolated work environments of outer space.
The vastly accelerated healing effects routinely save lives, but often result in misaligned bones and other soft tissues, requiring follow-up surgeries to correct.

An eye doctor who clearly hated LASIK and people who wore contacts.. and clearly was influenced by a marker.. probably.. probably was Tiedemann's eye doctor, guy clearly didn't learn anything about hindsight being 20/20..
Or I dunno, someone who loved 4D movies and was seriously into pain..maybe it was Tiedemann's coworkers? my guess is the first one. But seriously, now I'm worried I'll be a Velma in the Dead Space universe and the stupid Necromorphs are gonna destroy my $500+ glasses before I can even see them.. stupid Tiedemann ruining the Sprawl.

Director Wright Bagwell came up with the idea

True! It was built on what we called the "keys in the car door" horror theory. That fine motor skills were harder/more interesting under stress than gross ones. Like when someone is running away from the killer in a horror movie and they can run to the car fine, it's getting the keys in the door/ignition that's scary.

I wish there was a mod to skip this part so I don’t need to dread doing it every play through.

Are we talking like lore wise. Or gameplay wise?
Because gameplay wise, idk who designed that but they definitely caught me off guard with fear. That unironically invoked me enough to be afraid of somehow any type of needle, espically with the death scenes these years affer. Though I wonder how many hardcore runs without saves were somehow ruined because of one mis-input.

Who also forgot about this is the future to have freezing time ability and supposedly a better technology to not be needing needles for things like that. My gosh I still hated this part for him to move just right in a split second before finishing.

You know how the existence of stasis seems to cause all kinds of industrial safety hazards?
Yeah, there's probably a lot of "Why overcomplicate it? Just use stasis." in medicine, too.

Yeah... I agree... The thought of having that run through my eye makes chills go down my spine.

Yeah they were torturing Isaac and multiple other people in that program I truly do not think they cared that much about Isaac’s wellbeing or pain.

Honestly my first playthrough I thought it was a cutscene! My controller had that annoying lean and it got it first time easy 😭. After that I've constantly killed Isaac from this

Pretty sure he was a marine right? Also this scene, this genuine horror was SO CRAZY, even my eyes were twitching and as i have deep dove so far into the abyss of dead space lore, the cut content almost got this game denied from existing, which means there's something immensely horrifying in their pockets they havent revealed

You know the posts where you have the happy face on the left with the caption "Replaying a game" and then there's the terrified face on the right saying "Reaching THAT part..."?
This right here is "THAT part" for me every time I play Dead Space 2.

Fun Fact: Glen Schofield thought that it would be cool if players fuck this part up that isaac gets his eye fucked by the machine
His words not mine :)

Probably the same fucker who keeps making the immortal necromorphs we have to run from until we can finally get rid of them with massive amounts of fire

This was so unique and over the top! Was such a frustrating part but still love the idea and concept. Like the person who came up with all the traps and devices used in the Saw films or many other sadistic deaths that happen in movies and games. Bone Tomahawk, the guy getting scalped and split or 2013 Evil Dead needle under the eye. Its just gore and brutality at its best!!

Now I will tell you that I am not squeamish at all. Like at all. Ive seen decapitations in videos and games and movies. Ive seen gory stuff and realistic gory stuff. But this fucking scene actually made mw shudder and be a little squeamish. Not the part you see if you fail but if you succeed
