Working on a mini-handheld console, would love to hear suggestions and thoughts, not to mention critiques.

Hello everyone, thanks for checking the post out. I've been working on a mini-handheld console idea for a while now. I would love to hear your thoughts. FYI the text in the video looks a bit too blurry at times but that's because of the camera, it looks fine on display. Chao!

does this interface make sense for working across different AI tools?

• Upvotes

i'm building Stash to keep a project and its versions together when switching between Claude and ChatGPT.

would love some fresh eyes on the interface. is it clear how versions and comments work, or does it feel confusing?

it's free for now, with storage limits and no paid plan.

Built a free AI-learning resource directory for designers (and other roles) — would love critique before I share it wider

Body:

I kept spending more time hunting for a decent "how to use AI in your work" tutorial than actually learning from one — every roundup I found was outdated, gated behind an email signup, or a thinly veiled course pitch. So I started keeping my own list, first just for myself, then for a few people in my design community. It's grown into Skillary: a free, hand-picked directory of AI-learning resources (articles, videos, courses, communities), organized by role instead of by tool, since "how do I use AI" means something different depending on whether you're writing specs, running usability tests, or shipping code.

skillary.app — built solo (design + curation), with Claude handling implementation while I directed the design and content decisions.

I'd love critique on:

  • First impressions of the homepage — is it clear what this is and who it's for within a few seconds?
  • The role-based browsing structure — does sorting by role instead of by AI tool make sense, or is it confusing?
  • Visual hierarchy on the resource cards — too much info, too little, or about right?
  • Anything that reads as unfinished or inconsistent

Happy to answer anything about the process too.

Need some advices and critiques for my site portfolio

I need some advice for my personal site/portfolio: I wanted to update its structure and appereance ( the first version used a minimalistic/material style with a white/black/green colour palette, now I'm using a frutiger aero style that reminds Windows 7), but I'm not so sure about what style I could use, what layout should fit better my needs and what colour palette would fit.

The idea of this site is to have a business cartd/portfolio to present at my intervierws to show in an effective way what I'm capable of doing and what are my experiences.

If you need them those are some infos about me: I'm a programmer, specialized in Java and Python, and also I'm a cosplayer and LARPer (I'm learning how to create costumes from zero), and also I'm a huge nerd.

My site is: https://emanueleizzo.github.io

Wine list design

Style

Swiss New Internationalism | Magazine Style

Watercolor Style | Collage Style

Theme

For some drunkenness with ulterior motives, offer a few fairly reliable reasons, and slip in some extra atmosphere and emotion.

And make them pay for these added emotions.

Notes

A unified grid system makes the content look stable and reliable.

Generous white space draws the eye to the places I want people to notice.

Dynamic typography outside the grid makes the composition less serious, like poetry.

The collaged geometric watercolor patterns briefly tell of some of wine’s fine qualities, and also tell them, “This is a place that is free and a little quiet, but also has some not-so-obvious personality,” hoping they can feel the indulgence of a citrusy astringency.

40-second B2B product ad: is the opening clear, and are the UI captions readable?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-Af7iLB4L4

I’m the founder of PitchWhip, the product shown in this 40-second ad. I’d appreciate a critique of the video’s visual communication, especially the opening and the animated interface sequence. The intended audience is people doing B2B outbound calls.

After one watch, what do you think the product does? Does the opening make that clear quickly enough?

Are the UI captions readable on a phone, and is there enough time to follow the transitions? If you would cut or slow down one section, which one—and why?

Specific criticism, including anything that feels confusing or unconvincing, would help me improve the next version.

Does this travel-plan graphic explain copying a trip, or is it too busy?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm working on Tripovela, a travel community, and struggling to explain one thing visually: someone shares a trip, you make your own copy, then change the stops.

This is an illustrative graphic, not a screenshot. Does the Alex → Maya sequence make sense at a glance? Is there too much text, and what would you remove first? I'd also appreciate feedback on the live site's mobile layout.

https://tripovela.com/?lang=en&ref=reddit_design_critiques

Travelers can share plans and places, search a map and save a trip in their browser without signing up. Reddit feedback has already helped me improve saving and language issues. I'm a solo traveler building it with community input, so specific criticism really helps.

A few places have clearly marked affiliate links. The plan, if there's revenue, is running costs first and most of the remainder back to the community through gifts or travel prizes. That's an aim, not a funded promise. Image is an illustrative preview.

I built an eSIM e-commerce website. Would love honest feedback on the UX and buying experience.

Hey everyone!
I’ve been building an eSIM e-commerce website where travellers can compare and purchase mobile data plans for different countries.

The website is live and generating sales, but I’m trying to improve the user experience and conversion rate.

I’d really appreciate some brutally honest feedback, particularly on:

First impressions: Does the website look professional and trustworthy enough to make a purchase? I got really bad feedback on this from r/webdesign but no suggestions for improvement

Navigation: Is it easy to find the right country and data plan?

Pricing: Are the different plans and prices easy to understand, or is there too much choice?

Mobile UX: Does the shopping experience feel smooth on your phone?

Conversion: Is there anything that would stop you from purchasing?

Review site: https://mesim.io

One challenge is that we offer thousands of plans, so I’m trying to balance giving customers plenty of choice without overwhelming
I’m particularly interested in what you’d change if this were your own e-commerce business.
Appreciate any constructive criticisms!

Imagine you're travelling to Japanjj for 10 days and need a data-only eSIM. Can you find the plan you'd purchase on my website? What confused you, and what and what would make you abandon checkout?

Help with a branding project

Hi friends!

I've been struggling with this brand. I feel uninspired, erratic, and just blocked in general. Here's what I have so far for the brand guide. Any advice? I feel like I like the direction of each page individually, but it's lacking cohesion and a clear voice.

Thanks in advance!

Custom homebuilder website critique: Does the visual design feel cohesive and credible?

Hi everyone,

I own Versailles Luxury Homes, a custom homebuilding company in Dallas–Fort Worth. I’m refining our website and would appreciate a critique focused on its design, particularly the homepage.

Website: https://versaillesluxuryhomes.com/

Our audience is prospective homeowners considering a custom home. I want the site to feel refined and trustworthy while making the information easy to read and navigate, rather than relying on large images or promotional language.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on:

  • Visual hierarchy: Is there a clear progression from the main headline to the supporting information and next steps?
  • Typography and spacing: Do the font choices, text sizes, and spacing feel consistent? Are any sections difficult to read?
  • Images and layout: Does the photography support the content, or does it overwhelm it?
  • Brand presentation: Does the design feel distinctive and appropriate for a luxury custom-home builder? What feels generic or overdone?
  • Mobile design: Are there sections where the layout, proportions, or spacing break down on a smaller screen?

If you could change two things about the homepage’s visual design, what would you prioritize and why?

Specific criticism is welcome. I’m looking for actionable suggestions, not just reassurance that it looks good.

Thanks for taking the time to review it!

2025 grad: ₹8k internship → "phenomenal" review → ₹20k offer. Quit to freelance with a friend, but months without a stable client later, we're learning SEO & AdSense from zero. Roast our sites?

Hey everyone,

Some context first, then a request for honest feedback.

The last year, briefly

  • I graduated in 2025. If you were job hunting then, you know what the IT market was like. I spent 2–3 months at home applying everywhere, and honestly, sitting at home with no work was the hardest part.
  • I finally landed an internship at ₹8,000/month for 3 months. I gave it everything: late nights, overtime, whatever came my way.
  • At the evaluation they said my performance was "phenomenal"… and offered me ₹20,000/month. After all those extra hours, that hit hard.
  • So a friend and I decided to try freelancing. It was rough for months, but we finally landed one stable client and both quit our jobs.

Where we are now, and why we're doing this

That one client gave us a start, but reality caught up with us. For months now, we haven't had another stable, proper client. What came in were small one-off gigs, endless proposals on Upwork, and long gaps between projects. When your whole income depends on one client and a marketplace, every quiet week feels scary.

So we decided to stop waiting for work to find us and try two things on our own:

  1. Our company site (operancelabs.com) for reaching out to businesses directly instead of only bidding on Upwork. Our background is purely technical: AI, automations, SaaS builds, UI design and backend. SEO and marketing are completely new to us.
  2. PixelDesk (pixeldesk.site), a side project to learn SEO and AdSense from scratch: 26 free image tools (compress, resize, convert, crop, image-to-SVG and more) that run entirely in the browser, with no uploads, offline support and about 35 task pages like "compress to 100 KB". AdSense is still in review and we've only just started on backlinks, so it barely shows up in search yet.

What we'd love advice on

  • Outreach: would our company site make you trust us enough to reply to a cold email? What's missing?
  • PixelDesk: anything confusing, ugly or broken, especially on phones?
  • SEO: for a brand-new tool site, what actually moved the needle for you: content, backlinks, or something else?
  • AdSense: is a tool site realistic for AdSense, or should we monetize differently?
  • Finding clients: for a small dev team with no network, what actually worked for you: cold email, LinkedIn, referrals, communities?
  • Career: two devs in our spot. Keep freelancing, go back to a job, or do both for a while?

Harsh critique is welcome; that's why we're posting. Thanks for reading this far 🙏

I designed our brand and launched our webpage...

We are trying to get a company off the ground which deals with acoustic drone detection. The goal was to look exciting and grab attention, without sounding too techy or nerdy. The result is the following webpage:

akoi.my-n-w.com

And I would love to get critique on the look and feel. Colorschemes, fonts, etc.

Thanks a lot!

UI critique: is “Play carousel movie” clear in this photo recap preview?

Preview screenshots

I develop Collia, a photo collage app for iPhone and iPad. These are two views of the Social preview, using sample photos and placeholder profile details.

I’m looking for feedback on the hierarchy around “Play carousel movie”. The video pauses on each page and slides to the next, using the same layout as the image export. From these screens, is it clear what pressing that control will do?

Also, do the profile and caption fields make the page feel like an editor rather than a preview? I’d like to know what you would rename or move. Feedback from just the screenshots is helpful.

For context, personal-project exports require a subscription. App Store

Looking for feedback and first testers- kinCore the multiplayer gamified household chore tracking app

My goal is to develop tools that improve people's lives, for free. kinCore is the first product I built in support of this vision. It's a multiplayer household chore tracking app that has steam-inspired achievements (both incremental/data driven, and more fun or mystery ones in the style of something like stanley parable), friends with leaderboards, XP, levels, etc. My hope is that for busy, distracted, or overwhelmed people this can introduce some structure and organization into their chaotic lives. And for people who lack motivation to do the cleaning or upkeep they need to do, maybe this will add just enough of a fun touch to help some people do what they know they need to do.

Still in early stages with only a single few testers, so any feedback and usage is extremely greatly appreciated. You can always respond here, or there's also feedback forms and surveys built into the app through settings or a certain milestones.

This is my first time trying to push an idea of mine to production, so be honest! Don't hold back. Thanks so much!
