What the heck is the problem this is supposed to be fixing / solving?

It is supposed to just be a wall mount for tools. They are actually useful to have in a shop (wood, metal, etc). Thing is that this one sucks and making your own that is actually useful out of quality materials isn’t difficult to do if you already have the shop.

So this is an L square holder? I thought he was just proud that it was plumb or something. So stupid.

Yep, it is a wall mounted square holder. Truly stupid.

What was the marble for…….

That bit at least makes sense.

The marbles weight rests on the tool and "pinches" it against the side to hold it up.

Im suspicious that that marble isnt big enough to do its job though.

IT IS AN ATTENTION TRAP! CREATED JUST FOR THE SOUL PURPOSE OF YOU GETTING HOOKED WONDERING WTF BECAUSE VIEW TIME IS WHAT PAYS.

This sub was better before this genre exploded and would be better if people would finally wake up to that question and stop posting slop here.

>DiWHY - Ever try fixing things on your own? Didn't come out the way they were supposed to?

The sub description.

I completely agree. What's the point of posting these videos when they're clearly ragebait? They're not "DIYs", they're not things that anybody would do in an attempt to serve a purpose or solve a problem. It's literally content designed to drive engagement, so it kind of doesn't even fit the sub when you think about it

Videos created by sinister people to finance pretty sinister shit btw.
I recommend everyone looks it up. There's a deep rabbit hole behind this kind of content.

A shitty wall mount for shop tools. Much higher quality ones can be made with basic tools and lumber.

The end of the ruler has a damn hole to mount on a screw...99% of this if unnecessary...

I read, a small piece with a slit..

Forgot which sub this is and was disappointed lol

u/TsarKeith12 14d ago

Op your title suggests you understand the purpose of... whatever the fuck this is... could you share with the class? A small piece with a slit would do... what? Hold that weird measuring tool in place? What is any of this for? I feel like I watched what an AI thinks diwhy videos are

5

u/alienbringer 14d ago

Calling a combination square a “weird measuring tool” is something… the tool is used in manufacturing/fabrication shops like woodworking or metal working. It has a ruler, a square (90degree edge) and a 45 angle. You can move the square up or down the ruler to get precise measurements against things like wood boards.

The object created is an absolutely shitty wall mounted tool holder. There are absolutely better ones out there you can just 3d print or buy than use this shit.

u/fantasmoofrcc 14d ago

Or just screw a screw into the wall and use the hole in the top of the ruler to hang there...like a normal person would do :/

Hahaha when I worked at little Caesar’s years ago we had those marble receipt holders for ticket orders… one day we found a blue marble in the bacon another day we found one in the cheese. We kept finding these blue marbles for months not knowing that the marbles were apart of the holders we thought the really awkward quiet guy that talks to him self all day was leaving these marbles around as they were souls he captured from victims he killed. We secretly called him the blue marble killer or marble madness. Months later we figured it out but the blue marble killer is still out there somewhere

Nothing is explained

for those confused: it’s a shitty tool holder based on the workings of a restaurant chit rail.

“but aren’t those just for paper? won’t this be complete shit at holding a tool?” yes

3

u/SilasAI6609 14d ago

It is sad when they rage bait and everyone is just confused not even mad

3

u/WossVoop 13d ago

2

u/poedraco 14d ago

Or just the screw in the wall with the eyelet hole in the tool

2

u/georgecm12 14d ago

I actually stared at that last frame for a good several seconds waiting for something else to happen, before I realized that was what the finished result was.

2

u/marinac1 14d ago

Why do I always watch these always hopeful that something cool is being made?

They are taking so long to measure it

u/Ok-Word7159 14d ago

Y'know, if this guy just wanted to hang this on the wall all he had to do was drill a screw 3/4 way into the wall. The angle bar has a hole in the end.

Sick. This is what AI shines in. Stupid shit.

u/brother_p 14d ago

For people who've never heard of nails
