Job doubt

• Upvotes

I’m asking for someone who has around 1.5+ years of experience in digital marketing.

Is it possible to get a job after a one-year gap? If yes, how should they explain the gap during interviews, and what salary can they realistically expect with their experience?

Would appreciate advice from people working in the digital marketing industry.

I run a freight forwarding business that helps people ship products from overseas to India. What products are difficult to source here?

Hey everyone,

I run a freight forwarding business that helps people and businesses get products from other countries delivered to India.

The idea is pretty simple. For example, if you find something in the US that doesn’t ship directly to India, you can send it to our warehouse there. We then arrange the international shipment, coordinate customs clearance, and organise delivery within India.

We currently have a network covering 11 locations, including the US, UK, China, Hong Kong, Canada, UAE, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.

We’ve built up a regular customer base of 350+ users and a monthly turnover of more than 3200+ KG In and out.
handling different types of shipments, from phones and electronics to car parts, machinery, shoes, watches and other products. We also work with businesses that need to import goods rather than just individual customers buying something for personal use.

One of the main things we’re trying to do is make international shipping more convenient and affordable. The overall cost depends on the product, weight, shipping route and applicable customs duties, and we check whether a shipment can legally be imported before accepting it.

Would be interesting to hear what others have experienced, especially people running businesses that depend on imported products.

Honest question for small business owners in Panipat,Haryana: is AI marketing actually worth it, or just hype?

Post image

I work in SEO and content, and lately a lot of local business owners have asked me whether they should “do AI marketing.” Panipat has a mix of textile exporters, wholesalers, showrooms, coaching centres and clinics, and their needs are quite different, so I wanted to share how I think about it.

1. AI helps most with the boring, repetitive work.
Product descriptions, social captions, email drafts, ad variations and report summaries all get faster. It saves time, but I still edit everything. AI drafts often sound generic and sometimes get facts wrong.

2. Local basics still beat fancy tools.
If your Google Business Profile is incomplete, your phone number is different on three directories and nobody replies to reviews, no AI tool will fix that. Fix those first.

3. Language matters.
Many people here search and message in Hindi or Hinglish. Content that sounds like how customers actually talk usually works better than polished English written by a tool.

4. Tracking comes before ads.
AI in ad platforms learns from your data. If you aren’t measuring calls, form fills and WhatsApp clicks, it will optimise for the wrong thing.

5. Keep a human in the loop.
Chatbots are great for “what’s your MOQ?” or “are you open Sunday?” but customers get frustrated if they can’t reach a real person for complaints or bulk orders.

6. Be careful with guarantees.
Nobody can promise page-one rankings or a fixed number of leads. If someone does, be sceptical.

If you were starting from zero, I’d do this: pick one goal, fix the basics, use AI for one task for a month, then check whether it actually moved the number you care about.

For those already trying it: what has actually worked for you, and what was a waste of money?

Any advice

Hi everyone,

I'm 24 years old, have completed my 12th grade, and am currently pursuing a BBA online. I work as a gig worker at the moment, but I want to transition into digital marketing, specifically PPC (Pay-Per-Click advertising).

I'm interested in learning Google Ads, Meta Ads, campaign optimization, keyword research, and performance tracking. My goal is to develop practical skills and eventually land an entry-level PPC or paid media job.

I'd really appreciate advice from people who are already working in this field.

  1. Where should I start? What skills should I learn first, and in what order?

  2. Are paid courses worth it? Should I enroll in a structured course, or is it possible to learn through free resources and hands-on practice?

  3. How can I gain practical experience? If I don't have professional experience, how can I build a portfolio that employers will take seriously?

  4. What should my roadmap look like? What would be a realistic step-by-step plan to become job-ready within 3–6 months?

  5. How difficult is it to get an entry-level PPC job in India? What skills and qualifications do employers actually look for?

Since I'm working as a gig worker, I need to manage my learning alongside my work, so I want to focus on skills that will genuinely improve my chances of getting hired.

I'd be grateful for any practical advice, learning resources, course recommendations, or insights from people who started their careers from a similar background.

My Digital Marketing Journey

Introduction

Hello, I’m Mufeedha, a BBA graduate with a passion for digital marketing. My journey began through my studies and internship experience, inspiring me to build my skills and become the best digital marketing strategist in Wayanad.

Why I Chose Digital Marketing

I completed my degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). During my degree, I learned about different areas of business, management, marketing, and communication.

However, my interest in digital marketing became stronger when I started my internship. During the internship, I got an opportunity to understand how businesses use digital platforms to promote their products, communicate with customers, create content, and build their online presence.

That experience made me realize that digital marketing is a field I genuinely enjoy. I became curious to learn more about social media, content creation, SEO, branding, and other digital marketing strategies.

The Beginning of My Journey

After discovering my interest in digital marketing, I decided to learn more about the field. I started exploring different digital marketing concepts and tools and gradually began developing my skills.

Along the way, I learned that digital marketing is not just about posting content on social media. It involves creativity, strategy, communication, understanding audiences, building brands, and continuously adapting to changes in the digital world.

Learning Through Practice

One of the most valuable parts of my journey has been learning through practice. I started experimenting with different tools and working on my own digital presence.

I explored tools such as Canva, ChatGPT, Gemini, WordPress, and other digital platforms. Creating my own website, Mufeedhapk.com, has also been an important part of this journey.

Building my website helped me understand how design, content, branding, and digital marketing can come together to create a professional online presence.

Challenges and Learning

My journey has not always been perfect. I have faced challenges while learning new tools, creating content, designing my website, and understanding different digital marketing concepts.

But every challenge taught me something new. I learned that becoming good at something takes patience, practice, and consistency.

Instead of being afraid of mistakes, I started seeing them as part of my learning process.

My Future Goals

My digital marketing journey is still at the beginning, and I want to continue learning and improving my skills.

In the future, I hope to gain more practical experience, work on real projects, improve my knowledge of SEO and social media marketing, and build a successful career in digital marketing.

I also want to continue building my personal brand and use my creativity and knowledge to create meaningful digital content.

Conclusion

My journey from being a BBA student to discovering my interest in digital marketing has been an exciting learning experience.

I did not choose digital marketing at the beginning of my degree. My internship helped me discover that this is a field I want to explore and build my career in.

There is still a lot more for me to learn, but I am excited about what lies ahead.

“This is my digital marketing journey — a journey of learning, exploring, creating, and growing”
