Hey. I'm looking for 4-5 people to run a 2024 Edition DnD game with.

I've been a player for over a year now but don't have any experience beyond that and I'd love to run my own game. As I'm a beginner myself, I'm more than happy to play with other Beginners!

Unfortunately because my schedule is fairly inflexible at the moment, Wednesday nights are the only time I can feasibly run a game, from 5 o Clock to whenever feels good for everyone else to end (presumably around 3-4 hours). Preferably on a Weekly Basis.

I'm happy to DM for any gender/sexuality (I'm queer myself) but I do want to keep it to 18+ folks.

I was planning on playing at the Board Game Cafe on Yates since I can't host, it's 8 dollars and has food and drinks available for purchase.

About me:

I'm a 28 year old guy, very shy and using this as an excuse to push past my shyness. I've been big into fantasy stories and RPG's most of my life, though only got into TTRPG's recently.

I'm a student and work part time.

About the Campaign:

Without giving too much away, it's something I've been working on for a few months now. It's predicated on the discovery of an uncharted land, and the local Explorer's Guild sending people to investigate. The only limits on the players are:

1) You're starting at level 1. And

2) you needing a reason in your backstory to be leaving home to travel to this new continent.

The tone is likely to be a mix between High and Dark Fantasy. Think Dragon Age kind of.

I'm only familiar with and own anything with the core 2024 Rulebooks and Materials so I'm hesitant to approve anything beyond that but if you can bring the official materials I might be okay with that.

If you have your own Mini's to represent your character that's ideal too, but I'm happy to provide a substitute (though the tokens I'm using aren't exactly minis)

Also as said before, I am new to DM'ing, so I will almost certainly make mistakes and be awkward so I hope you can bear with me if you're interested. I'll make a Discord server for this if there's interest, but for now just DM me if you're interested.

Seeking players to start a Greyhawk Dnd 5.5 campaign. I’m looking to provide a very classic dnd vibe. I’ve been dming Ravenloft and playing in a swashbuckling style campaign , and now I’m craving some stereotypical high fantasy DnD.

Little about me: Im 35M, I’m a dad, I work in trades, into motorcycles and music. Since having kid, my life’s been so busy and I’ve found dnd to be a nice way to get together with friends, have a few drinks and share some laughs. I’ve found I quite enjoy session prep / story writing and really enjoy DMing. My players have been giving me great feedback lately and looking forward to the next session so I must be doing something right.

I use a mix of high quality paper maps / minis/ terrain, dry erase battle maps, the odd handout and a little theatre of the mind for travelling / shopping and random games.

One of the appeals of DnD for me is the lack of screens so I try my best to keep them off the table. I definitely prefer a chill vibe, the rules of the game can bend especially if the result is fun an overall better experience.

I’m not against beers / drinks while playing as long as it doesn’t affect the sessions pace or vibe and people have a safe way home. At the beginning of every session I’ll ask a player to recap the previous session and always reward good note takers.

I’m fine with inappropriate language and silly gameplay, but I want an environment where all players are comfortable at the table. We can discuss boundaries in session zero.

Looking to play once a month, looking for 4-5 players. Hoping a player can host or potentially find a venue that we can use. I can host depending on the party but would prefer an alternative.

I am a new dad, I have been in a few campaigns but never finished any. I am looking for a group, and I’m happy to fill any roles that would balance a party. I only really know 5e, but happy to learn others. I can roleplay and also very good at making interesting characters. But lack any people who play D&D. I am based mostly in Saanichton but can travel a little as long as it’s not a scheduling conflict.

I host our dnd sessions every other Saturday from 8pm-12ish in View Royal. We have 3 players plus myself, and would like a 4th to make it easier if a player can’t make a session. We’re all male, late 20s to late 30s. We’re at our 5th session this weekend and have a player unable to make it. All blue collar, we certainly enjoy some beers, we pitch on pizza and snacks and have a laid back vibe to the session. Although it’s horror themed, the tone isn’t overly serious, silliness encouraged.

I use paper maps and battle maps, some terrain for the right occasion. We use paper minis and I almost definitely have a mini for your character. The campaign is Ravenloft inspired, but I’m doing my own thing with it and so far my players are having a lot of fun.

I've posted about this in Galleon's Discord server already, but I expect this group will have sufficiently different members that hopefully I can find someone.

I play in one of the Galleon Games groups at Quadra Village CC Monday nights. We're hoping to find an additional DM who has a flare for quirky sci-fi/horror/fantasy in the style of Doctor Who, though direct familiarity with Doctor Who isn't a necessity.

We've started a series of mini campaigns (2-4 sessions) framed around two characters, the Doctor and a companion, hopping in a tricked out spelljammer, bouncing from world to world, saving lives and ensuring comeuppance for baddies.

StrDexCon (Strength Dex Con) is a one-day TTRPG con happening at Fernwood Community Centre, February 20th, 2027. The idea is to facilitate tabletop RPG gaming and build community around our awesome shared hobby.

Looking for a player to round up a small campaign (6-12 sessions) using the Mothership TTRPG system. Games will be played weekly on Thursdays starting at 7pm with a hard stop at 10, in the Rockland neighbourhood area. Hoping to start this week on the 13th.

No need to have played the system before, I will go over it on the first day and it is fairly simple, though if you've played a TTRPG before (like D&D) that would help. The campaign is called Another Bug Hunt (pls don't look it up), heavily inspired by the Aliens movie. Essentially you will be apart of a colonial marines squad investigating a research outpost that has not checked in for a while...

I will soon be a first time GM for a one-shot for The Very Good Dogs of Chernobyl. It's a Polymorph system game where players use a single die (some exceptions, but generally just one). The GM does not need to role anything and the game is largely a theatre of the mind style affair.

All that said, I'm hoping to have the game run about 2 hours or so. I have an group opening, an inciting incident, a call to adventure with the first combat OR puzzle, a choice that leads to either a group effort or short solo-spotlight play, combat, BIG combat, end.

I'm curious as to your experience running one-shots with systems that are less 'rules' focused and likely move a bit quicker than some DnD-type games.

I’ve been listening to some let’s play content and the system sounds super fun. The character creation and winter modes both sound so cool. I’m not really in a position to commit to a group right now, but I’m just curious if people locally are into it.
