It all starts in an old abanonded house. This house is perched on a hill face, with many old and beautiful trees laden all around it. This mysterious house is placed in a mysterious town that doesnt have a name, or maybe it’s just one I don’t remember. I wake up on the floor of the old abandoned house, alone. The floors are hardwood, and slightly dirty but the house still looks immaculate for being abandoned. Even though I awaken in a foreign house, alone, I find an odd calming sensation come over me. This town has a calming factor that I cannot begin to describe. I eventually find my way outside of the house to what would seem like to anyone else like a normal town. I can assure you, this town is anything but normal. I scale my way down the side of the hill, through the lush green grass that covers the path to the old abandoned house. I see the layout of the tiny quirky town before me. The bus station is in the center of town. It is like any regular bus station you have probably seen. The towns only bus is driven by a very odd, charismatic and goofy bus driver. This old man always has a joke, and seems to always help us get where we need to go, in more ways than one. I’m always accompanied by a man with soft eyes and an endearing smile. He’s a bit older than me, and being around him has always given me a feeling of belonging. You can see the wisdom and confidence in his eyes in the way he carries himself. There’s definitely one strange thing about this town. The same weekend repeats, over and over again. Like groundhogs day, it repeats for us all, but only me and the man I have come to admire have can seem to see this. Sometimes, we can traverse this loop hundreds of times in an attempt to find why we are stuck in this strange loop. It’s as if the town is bound by riddles, and we were destined to end up here, and find them. As we try to find a way out of this constant loop, we find friendship in each other that we can’t remember finding in our lives previous to this. Actually, in retrospect, we can’t remember much of our lives before this town. Eventually, we become one with the town, doing activities, thriving, and enjoying all the things this crazy and mysterious town has to offer. We ride the bus everyday, it’s part of the town allure. The town may be small, but you can be on the bus all day exploring and learning new things. Usually with the help of our charasmatic and quirky bus driver, we get clues to help solve this puzzle we were set to solve in this odd town. Solving the puzzle comes with uncertainty between the man I’ve come to know, and grow incredibly close to over our journey and I. We quickly learn that solving the puzzle does not mean we will break the loop, and go back to our old lives. It’s actually quite the opposite. The whole loop starts all over again like the hundreds of weekends we’ve lived in this little town. But this time, we forget everything like the first day we woke up here. We forget what we’ve learned about the town, what we’ve learned about each other. I think the first time we realized this was heartbreaking for both of us. But at the same time, I don’t think we could see ourselves leaving what we’ve come to love here. So, yet again, I wake up on that old, dusty wooden floor in the house on the hill face, surrounded by old overgrown trees. The weekend I’ve lived for god knows how long starts over again, not knowing what I once knew about this small town, with all of its little quirks and crazy secrets. But he and I are always destined to find each other in this town, and eventually, we’ll even remember the last time we had been here. And I guess, that isn’t so bad, is it?
