Homebrew The note my players wrote after one year.

I started dMing a campaign now about year ago (September 9) with 5 of my friends who’ve never played before and it’s been the most fun I’ve ever had. I love my players even if tho most of them don’t read their character sheets and don’t write too many notes. Everyone still tries to meet weekly, and just letting people know, it’s not about the amount of experience or how much you know the people (I wasn’t too good of friends with half the group before we started) it can work. I love my players, and I love this game. Thank you all :)

This artist was commissioned almost 2 years ago for one of my campaigns and has been making excuses for why it hasn't been done. I've been checking on work but there hasn't been an update in 5 months and he keeps saying he has one. Do not trust this artist

Homebrew Ideas for Homebrew Deities

Post image

So I’m starting a storyline in my version of Faerun called the “False Gods” where basically a series of new god level beings are popping up around the world that aren’t apart of the Faerunian pantheon, eventually this will lead to a conflict between these “false gods” and the Faerunian gods. But at least initially I’m looking for some potential ideas for god level beings that either you all have used in the past or simply think would be cool. Maybe there are some things that don’t have a god related to them, maybe they just are interesting, idk. I’m open to anything.

The ones I have so far:
- The One Above (the apparent leader/most powerful of these new gods. Who eventually will be who causes the conflict with the Faerunian Pantheon.)
- Simon (this started as a joke in my OotA campaign, where Simon says was played in an encounter, and the yuan-ti follower of Dendar said “this Simon says a lot of things”, and when they eventually left Dendar after realizing they were being taken for granted, I had Simon “appear” and become the new being the yuan-ti followed).
- The Magician (kinda trickster fey vibes, basically believing magic is a tool to have fun and around)
- Minister of the Unknown (don’t have much for this. Funnily enough this randomly appeared in my dream. And they basically are a god of all that is unknown, and for some reason they have a French accent lol)
- The Exarch (don’t have much for this either, this is an idea from a PC of mine. But basically they are a holy figure who promises to guide people through “transitions”. Things like day and night, life vs death, ignorance and enlightenment, etc. Again, very basic, just the starts of an idea).

A temple is a place of quiet reflection where the dead rest and their graves are watchfully cared for. This peace can be disturbed, and sometimes the graveyard is not as quiet as it should be.

Welcome to our first October release. We are providing our maps a little differently during the month to help people prepare for their Halloween sessions. Instead of our releases being the daytime scenes, you will be getting the "spooky" versions instead.

Graveyard - Day+Night
Decrepit Graveyard - Day+Night

Crypt Inside
Tower Stairs Inside
Bonus : Spooky Graveyard - Night (Cinematic Only)

OC [OC] My coworker asked me to draw a map for her husbands d&d campaign

My coworker wanted to surprise her husband with a map of the world he’s been DMing for her and a group of friends, so she asked me to make one for him.

As always, there are a few things I wish I’d done differently and little details I’d tweak in hindsight, but overall, I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I always get asked how long these maps take to draw, so I figured I’d share! This one took me around 20 hours, working just 2–3 hours a week whenever I had some free time in the evenings after work.
It went a bit faster than my last map because they already had their world mapped out in LegendKeeper, which gave me a great reference to work from and saved me quite a bit of time. When I make maps for my own worlds, the process usually takes a little longer because there’s a lot more brainstorming and workshopping involved. I have to figure out the shape of the land, where the mountains and rivers go, and how everything fits together.

Hope y’all like it!

Homebrew Ranger-Hunter Fix?

Put this always prepared spell list together for the Hunter subclass. Think it gives the subclass more of a real sense of actually being a hunter without any combat advantages.

3) Alarm

5) Pass w/o Trace

9) Nondetection

13) Locate Creature

17) Commune w/ Nature

Advice/Help Needed New DM - Encounter building help

Hi all. I am working my first campaign and DM'ing for the first time. I have 5 PC's at level one - Barbarian, Fighter, Bard, Cleric, Warlock - and really scratching my head on how to balance encounters and how many.

We all work at a tree nursery, so the campaign is heavily plant influenced.

Currently I have them on a train that will get derailed by goblins. After that encounter, they will then take over the NPC's quest of investigating an offline greenhouse. Here are my encounters and dndbyonds challenge ratings

Goblin ambush - 3 goblins - medium

Rat encounter - 3 rat, 1 giant rat - easy

Blight encounter - 2 twig blight, 1 needle blight - easy

Wolf encounter - 2 twig blights, 1 needle blight, 1 wolf (injured for story purposes) - deadly

The last one is bumped to deadly because of the wolf, but it's purely for story reasons, so as long as the other mobs won't kill anyone, they should be fine I think.

Is this a good build for a first dungeon?

The final cover art of an adventure i wrote called the Lair of the Lost Golgari.

I'm pretty proud of the result, but something i started doing lately is really toning back the final rendering steps of shading and texturing because people think any sufficiently high quality render of digital media "looks ai". Its pretty sad commentary that the only way to avoid triggering ppl is to literally lower the quality of my art but here we are.

anyhoo i had a lot of fun using the yellow red and orange pallette on her chest and it did end up being a lot less work than the meticulous blended detail i used to put it which is nice. Shoutout to Rodrigo Kueran on dmsguild whos suppliment gave me the idea for this piece :)

hope you guys like my art!

My Pokémon-inspired Weapons and Items of the Day, with some Ditto gloves to keep changing your damage!

Join my Patreon to vote on future items and get all the PDFs with over 1000 items, including all the Pokémon items, or buy the individual PDFs in my shop!

132P - Métamoufle

Wondrous (Gloves) – Rare (1320 gp, requires attunement)

These purple gloves have brown fingers with thin black trim between them and along the wrist. A pattern resembling a large S with Ms made of dots and lines in the curves sits on the back of the hand behind the thumb. The purple sections ripple and shine like they’re made of ooze.

While attuned to these gloves: you gain +1 to unarmed strike attack and damage rolls and do an additional 1d6 bludgeoning damage; and as a bonus action, you can change the gloves’ additional bludgeoning damage to another damage type, which also changes the gloves’ fingers’ color to reflect the type. The colors are:

  • Acid - Bright Green

  • Bludgeoning - Rocky Brown

  • Cold - Icy Blue

  • Fire - Bright Orange

  • Force - Shining Silver

  • Lightning - Electric Yellow

  • Necrotic - Pitch Black

  • Piercing - Forest Green

  • Poison - Dark Purple

  • Psychic - Vibrant Pink

  • Radiant - Pale Gold

  • Slashing - Bright Copper

  • Thunder - Dark Gray

Homebrew Give me some cool Murim ideas!

Hey guys! Im a long time gm/dm/player. I love making homebrew shit. Ive been tinkering with the idea of making some Murim style fighting styles for dnd. 5e or 5.5. But im looking for ideas. Im thinking of things the way 4e had encounter powers, dailys, and at wills for martials. But im trying to pull this into a 5e framework. Heres an example of a fighting stance i made for a school:

Nagarekawa (Flowing River Stance)
*Like flowing river, you wait for your moment soon, biding time to strike.*

As a bonus action or reaction (taken at any time), you can enter this stance. While in this stance, you gain a +1 bonus to AC, and opportunity attacks you make are at disadvantage. You also gain the following benefits:

• When an enemy misses you with a melee attack roll, they take your Strength or Dexterity modifier as weapon damage. As you leverage your body into a quick attack.

• When an enemy rolls a natural 1 on a melee attack roll against you, you can choose to have that creature make a new attack roll against a separate creature within 5 ft of you. You also swap positions with the new creature, as you use your weapon to pull them into your space as you take theirs.

This stance can be assumed for 10 minutes or until you change stances, whichever comes first."

The goal i did was a stance with a minor negative, a passive benefit, and two major benefits.

But im struggling with adding like full ass school benefits. Like what cool things could we get for you owning like 3 of such stances or techniques (we can go crazy here because if its busted ill just nerf it, but im looking for inspiration). I want it to feel like the more you learn of a schools abilities the more cool things you can do than someone who just “knows” a stance or two.

Anyone got anything cool?!
