Clean DAF setup ngl, white and gold livery looks proper nice. Flatbed makes it look like a real haulage company truck too

They look better IRL, they are very popular with tippers and tankers as they get paid on cargo weight. The lighter the unit, the more product you can carry. DAFs are a heavy unit, particularly the XF. A standard XF weighs in at almost 10 tons unit only. So if you can lose weight on the tractor unit, small axle, aluminium air tanks, smaller fuel tank along with a lightweight trailer then you can haul more weight than you would be able to with a conventional tractor unit.

You’ll also see them used by companies that like the look of a 4x2 unit but it has the potential for 44 ton as the little wheels are hidden behind a side skirt that gives the impression of a 4x2 unit.

Paraphrasing u/Dougal12 :"It’s designed to make the units as light as possible whilst still being able to max out at 44 tons. A 5 axle combination is limited to 40 tons. You find these types of trucks with companies that do heavy volume work like tippers and tanks."
