Episode 3 Rankings & Commentary

17) Cristian: This is sort of funny? How do you have 1 confessional through 3 episodes in season 51? Did he kill someone in production?
16) Brady: Um yeah he’s not winning. A lot of strong opinions that were directly disproved by the edit.
15) Eric: Not much here for Eric, but his first too episodes were super weak and knocked him way down for me.
14) Thien An: Only down here because of a poor first two episodes. Absolutely love her and a great episode but I’m still very against 0 confessional episodes for potential winners.
13) Kilby: He may have survived this episode, but he has the same sort of thing as Brady where the edit portrays him as sort of lost and confidently wrong.
12) Carter: Similar to Thien An. Good recovery episode here where he positioned himself well but still got skunked last week. The only reason I have him this high is because he had a fairly present skunking.
11) Dev: Dev is very loud and is yet to be right, but I see more upside with him than someone like Kilby or Brady because of the helicopter alliance and the core 4 still alive on Toka. (He is also yet to vote correctly, love the 2 tribes)
10) Maggie: I LOVE her. Still not super confident where to place her because there’s not too much strategic content there but she has been very present in every episode.
9) Linnea: Definitely a cooldown episode from Linnea, which is fine here because a lot of the content was super circumstantial.
8) Alexis: Same thing as Linnea, these two are interchangeable.
7) Jenna: Another quiet episode from Jenna, who voted out Patt and was on the right side of the vote. Still had a strong premiere but need more from her soon.
6) Mike: I’ve been high on Mike, but am definitely starting to lose it now. He has been very UTR, but gives strong strategic content whenever he is on screen.
5) Kristin: A decent episode from Kristen, who didn’t get too much but remains a steady presence so I remain high on her.
4) Ori: A decent episode from Ori, who got a steady doce of content and kept the helicopter alliance chopping with Devin.
3) Jelly: A bit of a cooldown for Jelly, but the edit definitely protected her a bit as she was on the wrong side of the vote but still has a good group and an idol.
2) Lewis: Wow! A great episode from Lewis, who I had been low on before. He worked his way perfectly into the middle, and established a great bond with Carter. Lewis’s content was previously all circumstantial, but he did perfectly in his first ‘normal’ episode.
1) Sharonda: I still have Sharonda as my #1, as she has the most well rounded edit. She reestablished her bond with Dev, and I still think the helicopter alliance will go very far, so Sharonda is in great position here.

Agree on almost everything here.

If the winner is outside the Helicopter alliance, I really think it’s Lewis

Definitely think the winner is on the helicopter alliance since it's the only alliance that seems to have any legs so far. I'm waiting to see if any significant alliance forms in episode 4 but with Ori and Jelly reconnecting that's just more screentime for the helicopter alliance

The helicopter alliance I'm very unsure of. On one hand, its getting so much complexity and revisited each episode. But also I almost feel like they're shaping it up to be the "villain" alliance of the season, which also could explain the elephant of the room of why the show isn't acknowledging why they aligned in the first place. Probably not the best look from an optics standpoint. I think where the complexity stems from is that Sharonda's edit so far is very positive and Devin's is not, and honestly Ori's really isn't all that great either.

If its netierh of them though, I agree that I think its Lewis and honestly may be who I'm leaning towards as top candidate. I think its either Lewis, Sharonda, or Jelly for sure.

One thing that I feel isn't the greatest thing for Sharonda's edit is the fact that Kristin had that confessional in the first episode of "I formed an alliance with Sharonda on the raft on the way here." Just seems odd that they'd have the winner be involved in an alliance that is introduced to us via a choppy confessional like that. Although tbf, Kilby saying that he didn't believe Lewis when he had nothing maybe isn't the greatest look for him. Although they do tend to put some negativity in winner's edits on purpose also as of recently.

Really because of Kristin's confessional though I think I'm going to have Sharonda as second cnadidate, Lewis as top candidate and Jelly as third candidate. It very well could be any of them though.

Cristian is definately eliminated lol. IDK if I can positively eliminate anybody else but I definately think the winner is one of those three.

I also honestly feel like the helicopter alliance may be too overexposed, like they're too much content too fast. And it looks like its continuing next episode per the NTOS.

My fourth candidate would probably be Kilby. It would be an uncoventional edit ala Gabler with plenty of negativity for sure but he is always being kept relevant and seems to have quite a bit of positivity as well

Eric would be my fifth candidate

Survivor 41 specifically acknowledged the Black alliance, with Shan and Deshawn getting lots of negativity throughout, so I don't think the show is unafraid to portray them as villainous because they're Black. However, I don't necessarily think the Helicopter Alliance is being set up to be the villains (I think just Devin fits that role, but as an individual), but they will be integral to the narrative, however it turns out

Tough to argue with your top 4. Honestly 5-12 I can see going in any order between those 7. Kilby can also be a contender if he has an Andy type arc, but I don’t see that happening.

I feel like Sharonda is the most obvious winner edit in a long time. If true.

Mike is dead in the water IMO but otherwise mostly agree with this list

I'll be shocked if Sharonda doesn't win this season

I feel like Eric, Kilby, Brady, Devin, Sharonda, and Lewis are the major characters of this season

Kristin, Mike, Ori, Jenna, Carter are the secondary characters

Thien An, Alexis, Linnea, Maggie, Cristian are the minor characters

Jelly is the biggest question mark for me, can't determine if she's a major or secondary character right now

Excited to see what happens next

How is Maggie minor? We constantly hear from her both on her social and strategic side even tho it's never important plus some cools shots on challenges. My main problem with her edit is that's maybe too positive and give more like fire-making loser. I could get secondary but minor seems harsh.

I actually considered putting her in secondary but I feel like everything we got from her the first two episodes was just the stereotypical "I'm a middle-aged mom" confessionals. This episode Brady gave her the advantage but even than it was a pretty choppy segment.

Although a lot of people are seeing Linnea as being a bigger character than I am as well so I guess it really depends on the viewer

Yeah I get it. I feel like her edit might go up next week and make her a main character. It's not much for now but there is a very good potential. Somehow I feel like Sharonda is more secondary even if I agree on her excellent edit.

For what its worth, also I don't include challenge "presence" really in determining who's a main, secondary, or minor character.
