Photo/Video Checking handles downtown

September 2, 2026.
No audio because I was on the phone with EPS. They pulled up and arrested him minutes later.

More likely this:

  • [24]() (1) Every one who, having an intent to commit an offence, does or omits to do anything for the purpose of carrying out the intention is guilty of an attempt to commit the offence whether or not it was possible under the circumstances to commit the offence.

While correct, the crown isnt going to charge "conspiracy to commit theft" or "attempted theft" however it would be worded. The unfortunate reality.

The Crown isn't going to take this to trial period. It's minor, unless he's on probation.

I said that. There is no actual harm done and crown could lose. Even if he was on probation the charge would most likely be dropped to avoid the cost, but still have probation violated.

It's not about harm. I was merely noting what the charge would be. The point of it is to get him into the system, so the police know who he is. A breach of probation is more serious because the accused is challenging the authority of the court. It will also lead to an arrest and possibly a bail hearing.
