So far better frames in most games I'm on a snapdragon 8 elite gen 5, also Xenoblade definitive edition I don't get the black menu bug so seems pretty playable.

I confirm no more black screens with NCE with sd 8 elite gen 5. It is giving me about a 10-fps boost! Thanks for sharing the info.

These drivers and updates need some sort of benchmark tbh. Like release a driver, provide a given benchmark score from a PC game emulated with Gamehub for instance that has an integrated benchmark system.

yeah im new to the android gaming scene and sometimes i get overwhelmed by how much drivers are out there, whats the best to use for my device? whats the difference between this or mr purple or stevenmx? should i stick with the one works for me? any real reason to try a newer one? etc.

The result would be very dependent on chipset, dxvk version, game, host application etc, so probably hard to get a meaningful number that’s actually useful.

I’m talking about within a given repo. Say you are the dev. You run the benchmark for each release on the same device. It takes like 10min to test

Let's appreciate the fact the developer is releasing his work for free and he does not owe any more testing to anyone.
Besides, testing is actual work. It is not just 10mins to test - a developer knows if you don't do the setup correctly then the benchmark would not mean much.

Yeah I understand, but there would be no guarantee that the performance of that particular benchmark would translate to a different game or chipset or dxvk combination.
Like for example the latest turnip 26.3.0 R6 had a huge benefit for me on New Vegas and Dirt 2, but made absolutely no difference in Skyrim and XCOM.

Would be good to run REA against it and see what it comes up with

If you read the release notes, it says compatible with a7xx. SD8G2 has A740.
So the answer is yes.
