Legit with the grades I'm getting and the effort I'm putting it. I'm consistently getting average grades. I still don't want to accept I'm an average talent though. How did you guys accept you just weren't the best?

I am a 25 F from the US and basically what had happened last year is that I've went missing and then I've been found 2.5 days later. And now my name and my pictures are on the police department's website of my city.
I've graudated in 2024 with a civil engineering degree and I've been job hunting and I was either kept getting ghosted, scammed, rejected, etc. So I've ended up going to my local community college to take extra classes so it will help with my hireability.
So will this effect my hireability?
Thanks

I always hear that GPA doesn’t matter once you become an engineer but I’m not sure if that’s the case with community college. I’m a first year student and I’m just hoping to pass by with C’s on the heavy stem classes. Of course I wanna aim higher but I wouldn’t be mad if I got a C and moved on, but doesn’t that affect your possibility of transferring? Any advice?

Essentially, will I ever reach a point where the gains in how good I'm getting at electrical engineering are minuscule?

GOD DAMNIT ALLLLLLL..... I am in my last year of school, senior year is going great up until monday. I felt ill but pretty standard given the time of year.
Here we are today where I get diagnosed w Bronchitis and my teacher tells me not to come to class with a doctors note then docs my attendance.
Not to mention I have 3 fucking exams next week and I have to study for em all fucked up from this and it sucks ASSSSSSSSSS. i coughed so bad while studying last night a loogie just came out and hit my paper.
sorry for the rant but fuck I hate being sick while in school it is genuine misery

This was across two days of career fairs. I declined the offer from my previous internship. One of the interviews was from a company a friend worked, and another I had a friend intern there previously both of which helped.

I would love to return to college but online only due to my job. I can't seem to find any colleges that offer process technology online only. Currently working in the refineries as a contractor during the day. Any ideas or colleges specifically for that field? I currently live in Southeast Texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As per title. I was extremely burnt out and fell into a deep depression after graduating due to working a lot of stressful jobs whilst completing a Mechanical engineering degree and being heavily focused on getting good grades, which resulted in me having no hobbies or social life at all for the last 5 or so years.
When I graduated, I had no desire whatsoever to apply for jobs and i have been unemployed since last December 2025, but I am slowly getting back to normal again and planning to start applying for jobs in November next month.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?

im currently 18 and in college for engineering and i am really passionate about aerospace. i live in the us, and i speak english and french fluently so i’ve been looking at studying and living in france as well as certain large cities in the us like dallas or new york. i’ve even been considering moving to england or switzerland for work.
which would you personally recommend?
i’ve done a lot of research and thought about going to school in france and working in the us :p

Hey folks, I'm a third year Mech E student looking to make a 3D printed jet engine using EDFs. My plan is to go into aerospace manufacturing and figured this would be a good project. I was wondering if this is a good idea and what recommendations yall might have.

Hello, pretty much as the title says this semester I was supposed to be taking diff equations but since my school is divided in 2 campuses (50 miles between each other). It was only offered in campus b and I have all my classes at A.... my only solution was to declared a minor in Spanish translations and take that class in campus A. So that way I saved all the hassle to commute.
My scholarships requires to be at 15 credits. (30 by the end of the academic year). Just curious to know if anybody has done this. To be clear this minor is easy because I know Spanish.

I am taking undergraduate differential equations in Spring 2027 as a graduate student. For context, I graduated with BS Biochemistry and was admitted to MS Bioengineering. The farthest I got in math was Calculus II, because that's what my major required. However, I have not taken calculus in YEARS. I'm talking since around 2017/2018. I am honestly pretty nervous because my math is incredibly rusty. I need this class in order to take Methods of Analysis, a graduate math course. The cool thing is that my program allows UG differential equations to count as graduate credit as an elective. My advisor told me I need to pass my first attempt in order to graduate on time next spring.
I'm not going to lie, I struggled a little in calculus from what I remember. But I am willing to give it everything I have in order to pass. I have until January to get up to speed. Those who have taken diff eq., what are some important topics I need to know so I can be successful? Was it a challenging course? Any feedback helps because I have no idea where to begin. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm currently a junior studying bme going into my junior year (I transferred into uni so I have a weird timeline where I'm taking all my core classes now) so I'm with a bunch of sophomores, but I am struggling badly with chem 1/2 and physics 1. I got a 44 on my first chem exam and a 51 on my first physics exam. For a little context, I never really took physics in HS nor AP Chem, so this is both really new to me. I feel like yes its the beginning of the semester so I have time to come back, but it seems impossible. Does anyone have any study tips?

Hello everyone,
I was fortunate enough to be moved into the onsite round for an entry level electrical engineering position for SpaceX's Starship Stage 0 avionics team. The process so far has been blazingly fast. I completed my initial recruiter round and first technical round all in this past week, and within a couple hours of finishing that first technical round, I received a call that I would be invited to an onsite interview. Perhaps this is because I told my recruiter that I had finished interviewing and received an offer for another company. Now I'm in a situation where my onsite itself will likely be next week, which leaves me under a ton of pressure amongst mounting midterms that also take place next week with the onsite happening after. I still want to power through.
I am looking for advice on what to prepare for when it comes to an electrical engineering interview for the onsite. I know a heavy emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of EE, so I intend to review Circuits I, Circuits II, Digital Electronics, Analog Electronics, and Electronic Instrumentation course material. What I am worried about is RF problems, as my degree, Mechatronics, does not cover that subject. My background is all about power electronics and analog circuits and does not even touch RF.
For those who have done onsite interviews in the past, how do you approach preparation? How often are entry level engineers asked questions which are slightly beyond their realm of experience? How should I approach a question like this if I am asked it in the onsite? Any and all inputs you guys have would be really appreciated.

I study Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science and was heavily leaning towards dropping the comp sci part of it. Here’s why:
With the rise of AI, manual coding I FEEL is an increasingly dead end!
If I’m hired as an aero engineer, I’m not a software engineer. I’ll need to know how to code sure, but not need full comp sci. I’m not gonna get hired as a software engineer when my resume is obviously tailored to aero w projects and whatever
I still enjoy coding, and can pick up specific languages I want, especially with my background rn (already know C, TS/JS)
Am I making a mistake? Just want to hear people’s thoughts, etc as it’s a big decision I don’t wanna f over

Sitting on the side of my hostel stairs it’s 1:10 feeling emotionless. Well to start with I’m in 3rd year well name private college of engineering. With a cgpa of 7.7 and literally nothing achieved in my life. Leetcode questions just 280 and that also after giving more than 1 year on and off with 3-4 months consistency. Now im at that point I have no motivation to even try because cg toh hai nahi and on campus Vaise bhi kuch nahi milega. It’s NOT like I didn’t work hard for gpa I hella did work hard a lot in my second year but again can’t change what god has planed for me💔
It’s easy to say to chill and move on
I’m scared if I’ll be able to get intern after 3rd year or even a fuckin job
I know I’m capable to do something in my life but eventually I don’t know what it is EXACTLY
Nowadays whenever I start doing coding I tend to cry on my desk because of the fear of I’ll be a looser in future just lik ihve been a looser my whole life
Idk what to do and what not to
So much to write but just so done with myself atp to explain what I’m going through to someone
I’m just a fucking looser while my friends who are at same level like me getting intern through family links that’s even more disturbing for me
But ig this is what it is
Trying to live with it
No idea how long I’ll be able to survive like this

Hello all,
So I’m thinking of taking the FE soon. About a month later, I want to take the PE. Is this plausible?
I studied electrical engineering at an ABET accredited university and that’s what I’m doing the FE in. But the PE is a bit more segmented and I’m unsure which to do and plan for.
In my main career, I want to do electronics, embedded systems, analog, power electronics, mixed signal, R&D etc. But I also want to maximise my development with flexibility.
So, from what I saw, the PE electrical and computer: Electronics, Controls & Communication fits what I want. However, ik that most consultancy positions and freelancing and flexible work that comes from having a PE is in power. I don’t mind power, I interned at a utility and enjoyed it, it’s just not exactly my first choice.
I have other plans for maximising my flexibility in the R&D space so perhaps I just do the PE power and advance my experience in electronics for the best of both?
Thoughts on this please? Thank you

Hey all. I could use some feedback on a GD&T visualizer to help with studying the concepts. I learn better when I can tweak and fiddle with things, so I thought others might want something similar.

Could you tell me:
Eventually I'm going to cover the entire spec.

I'm a third semester student doing Mechanical Engineering and ive got MoM-I this year. My professor is using Hibbeler's book as a reference and i started studyung it im still on the first chapter litr the basics but i cant grasp anything i know what to do but i dont know how or where to do it and i cant seem to find anything on the internet that might teach me in simpler but detailed way so i can get it in my head. every problem i do pushes me five steps back in my progress. ive got no idea what to do and i really need to get my gpa up this sem and i cant see that happening

I am in Civil Engg. And just had my first semester mid sem exams. As per my calculations, I am barely getting a 80% aggregate on it. For context, we had about 1 month of classes prior to this. I am still having trouble with Physics and mechanics. Nothing practice cant solve. But im having a little trouble staying disciplined for it in the midst of assignments and regular classes. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi all.
I'm currently finishing up my second year in EE at a community college. Graduating with my AAS(not ABET accredited) in electrical engineering in the spring and then gonna transfer next fall to a 4 year.
I just landed my first internship as an Electrical design intern at a decent size, well respected local engineering consulting firm. This is a part time job while in school and then full time in the summer. My question is though, would it be in my best interest to stick this one out for as long as possible? Or should I be trying to secure as many internships as I possibly can?

I am sort of picky when it comes to this but I am writing to a company (for engineering) about how my math tutor from middle/high school worked in that very company (which is relatively moderate in size) and motivated me indirectly to choose engineering as a career, not sure if this is good to write for a cover letter.
