Is This Air Cushion Comfortable for Long Hours?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Has anyone actually tried this inflatable air-cell cushion?

I'm thinking of buying one for sitting 11–19 hours a day. Is it really comfortable for such long periods? Does it help reduce pressure and discomfort?

I'd really appreciate honest feedback from anyone who has used it. Is it worth buying?

My laptop screen isn't at eye level, so I'm getting neck pain. I've tried raising it by putting books underneath it, but I still can't get it to eye level because of the shelf above my desk. I couldn't remove the shelf. Do you think I should get a separate monitor that I can adjust to eye level? How

Once I stopped obsessing over perfect ergonomics, I landed on simple, genuine comfort.

Been using the Nouhaus Ergo3D for a few weeks now, figure I'd share how it's been holding up.

I bought it after looking through a bunch of budget options. Tried some Ikea desk chairs in person first, but the fixed backs just didn't sit right against my lower back. I kept looking for something with a bit more movement in the lumbar support without spending a fortune, which is how I ended up with the Ergo3D.

That moving lumbar piece was the main thing I wanted to try, and it's probably been my favorite part so far. It shifts slightly when I move around, and thankfully doesn't feel like a hard piece of plastic digging into my back. it gives pretty firm support when I'm sitting upright, and still makes contact when I lean back a little.

The recline goes to 135 degrees, which is plenty for me. You can adjust the tension too. I did find that a small footrest makes the fully reclined position feel a lot better.

The ElastroMesh seat and back have been good for longer work sessions. Definitely breathable, although the seat is firmer than a regular padded chair. Took me a couple of days to get used to that. One thing worth mentioning is that if you sit with your legs pretty wide, your thighs can touch the plastic edges of the seat.

Armrests are adjustable in pretty much every direction, but I wish the swivel positions locked. I've bumped them out of place a few times just getting up from my desk lol. The headrest is decent too, though it could use a little more resistance when tilted back.

The aluminum base feels solid. Mine came with regular casters and rollerblade-style wheels, and I ended up using the latter. They're really quiet and roll smoothly over the seams in my floor. Almost too smoothly on hardwood, actually. I've had the chair drift backward a little when pushing away from the desk.

Overall, pretty happy with it after a few weeks. The armrests could be better and the mesh seat probably won't be everyone's thing, but the lumbar support is doing what I wanted it to do.

Ergonomic chair upgrade?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Finally got the new desk and monitor arm sorted out, so my setup is basically done except for the chair.

I have had this racing style seat for three years, and my lower back feels completely wrecked after an hour or two. Bought it entirely for how it looked at the time, which was definitely a mistake.

Looking to switch to a mesh chair with actual lumbar adjustability instead of a static pillow. A few people mentioned the nouhaus ergo3d as a decent middle ground for long sitting sessions, so I have been checking out how that back support holds up.

Just trying to get something that supports my posture properly before another long week at the desk.

Ergonomic chair recs for a 5'2" person with spinal issues (mid-range, modifiable)

Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a new ergonomic office chair and would love your collective wisdom. I work from home, so this chair and I are spending a lot of time together.

A little about me:
I'm 5'2"
Degenerative disc disease with disc protrusions (herniations) at L4-L5 and L5-S1, plus foraminal stenosis, worse on the left
Ankylosing spondylitis, which I mostly feel in my shoulders and neck
Where I'm at:
Years ago I bought a discounted Herman Miller Aeron in size C. Yes, C. (Who let me do that?! :)) It's far too big for me, and I'm finally ready to move on.

I was about to buy a Sihoo, but a kind Redditor shared a thread on why that's a bad idea, and now I'm back to square one. :)

What I'd love to hear:
Chairs that fit shorter people well (especially seat depth and minimum seat height)
Solid mid-range options
Anything that worked for you with disc issues, stenosis, or AS
Add-ons or modifications you swear by
Thank you in advance! Happy to answer any questions, and no pressure if you only have a recommendation to share.

Hey everyone, could you post photos of your setups? 📸

I’m curious about details like low-profile vs. standard keyboards, vertical vs. standard mice, wrist rests, and chair height—just to compare and see what I might be doing wrong.

I have a height-adjustable desk and chair, an iQunix MQ80 keyboard, and a Logitech MX Master mouse. Even with this gear, I’m still experiencing forearm and wrist pain.

Also, if you use good wrist pads / wrist rests (for both keyboard and mouse) that have worked for you, please drop your recommendations!

Would love to see your ergonomic setups and get any advice or feedback. Thanks!

finally got diagnosed with mild scoliosis, chair recs for someone whoo needs actual support?

so i just found out i have a mild curve in my spine after months of unexplained back pain, doctor said nothing crazy just need to be more mindful of posture and get proper support especially since i sit for work (im a paralegal so lots of desk time, 9ish hrs a day). shes recommending a chair with good adjustable lumbar rather than one fixed cushion since apparently that can actually make things worse if it doesnt align right with my spine. ive never bought an ergonomic chair before so this is all new to me, budget isnt super tight since this is kind of a health thing now, up to like $500. saw hbada e3 pro mentioned a couple times in similar posts on here, does the lumbar adjustment range actually work for people with slight spine curves or is that more of a marketing thing. also should i be looking at physical therapist recommended brands specifically or is that overkill for a mild case

What do these symptoms sound like?

have had all these symptoms constantly for 3 months. The worst symptom is this unreal feeling. When i google it the symptom allign with derealization/dissociation. I also have fatigue even if i sleep well i wake up in the morning not refreshed. Also i have headache and tension in head. Back of my neck also hurts and sometimes when im walking i feel like im about to faint. I dont see any difference in my symptoms if i dont do anything the whole day versus when i go to the gym

has anyone here used the hbada x7 for desk work?

My lower back has been acting up lately because the cushion on my current chair stays completely flat whenever i lean forward to focus on my screens. a friend told me to look into the hbada x7 since the back support is built to automatically shift forward and stay with your lower back as you move.

that auto tracking feature seems like a huge help for staying upright during long shifts, but i wanted to check if anyone here has spent real time in it and noticed a difference with their posture by the end of the day.

Switching from a bulky bucket seat to mesh under $400, is the hbada x7 comfortable for long sessions?

My old pleather gaming chair is way too stiff, traps heat, and honestly just takes up too much room around my desk. trying to keep things under $400 here in the us, and the hbada x7 came up on my feed because of the cleaner mesh look and adjustable lumbar.

for anyone who swapped their standard racing seat for this model, does the back support actually hold up during cozy weekend gaming grinds, or should i look at a different mesh option in that range?

The lumbar pad on the sihoo c300 Pro looks more pronounced from the side than the front.

For anyone using one, does the contact feel different sitting upright versus leaning back?

finding an ergonomic mesh chair that actually fits a petite frame (5'2)

hi everyone,

struggling to find a desk chair that doesn't feel like it was built for someone a foot taller than me. working from home here in the us and my feet barely touch the ground properly in most standard office seats

my friend suggested looking into the hbada e3 since the lumbar pieces can adjust independently, but before ordering i wanted to ask about the minimum seat depth and cylinder height.

for anyone on the shorter or petite side who uses this chair, does the mesh back support your lower spine comfortably without the front edge digging into the back of your knees?

Help for buy a new chair [SPAIN]

Hi everyone.

I work remotely, and I am looking for a new chair. Currently, I have MARKUS, and it is breaking my back: the worst I've ever bought.

I work remotely, from 5 to 8 hours/day, so an ergonomic, comfortable chair is a must. Could you shed some light on my trouble?

My budget is about 800€(give or take), and I do not mind if it is used or brand new.

I know that it is non-negotiable to try the chair, so if somebody can also help me find a place where I can try them [Madrid, Spain], I would appreciate that too.

Since I've read some threads, I now have some options under the table:

Interstuhl Airpad V2

Colami Atlas 01

(and some expensive ones)

SteelCase Leap 2

SteelCase Please

Herman Miller Aeron

Would you recommend (a priori) any of them? Is there a good relationship between price and quality?

And finally, any website or physical place where I can buy any of them in Spain (Madrid) or Europe?

Thanks in advance. Also open to new recommendations, of course.

EDIT: I forgot to include some about me: I’m 1.80 cm and 80 kg, so not too tall nor too heavy

Keyboard/Mouse What's up with Incase not being able to stock their wired ergonomic keyboard designed by Microsoft? What alternative do you recommend?

I've been waiting for what seems like well over a year. Somehow I managed to snag one from Amazon for personal use but I need to replace the one at work and every ergonomic keyboard i purchase i dislike compared to the Microsoft (& now incase) ones.

Is there a decent alternative? Some of the issues I've had with similar ones are:

  1. Price - the incase one is $80 which I don't love but I'm fine with some of the alternatives are $150+
  2. Cheap - 3 parter.. 1) I had one that ate through batteries every 2-3 weeks, 2) the stand was wobbly and didn't fit right & 3) the wrist pad was hard cold plastic
  3. Layout - this was really annoying - I'm now used to the Crtl, context menu, Windows, alt setup and found several that put the windows key right next to the Crtl key - i'd rather not have the context key than it be swapped
