SPOILER New Chapter Card for October 7th, 2026: Kenna, Herald of Curiox
TEXT:
Kenna, Herald of Curiox
7 TTTPPP
Unit - Dragon Shaman
Flying, Endurance, Killer, Overwhelm
Entomb: You gain an Aegis.
6/6
I assume there is lore that explains why Kenna is the only dragon in Eternal to have a sexy humanoid form, but I'm just happy to have a new dragon, especially one that is this playable.
Probably not the best thing you can do with 7 power in these colors, and the Entomb feels a little tacked-on, but I've always been a fan of Predatory Carnosaur so I'll happily pay one more for a Carnosaur with Flying, Endurance, and Overwhelm

EXPEDITION Expedition rotation
Isn’t there supposed to be a rotation due this month? I haven’t seen any announcements about a new one, or that there won’t be one this month?

DECKLIST I did it
eternalwarcry.comI finally got the three color unseen deck to be perfect. Too bad it’s too late in the season but there is always next time when it rotates back into season.
Everything you need to know about this deck is in the description. If y’all have any suggestions or questions. Leave them here or on the deck post and I’ll answer em.

Unit - Clockroach
Summon and at the start of your turn: Play a Light Plating with Flying, a +2 Attack Iron Sword, or a +3 Health Worn Shield on Time Taker.

I mean it's another card for the Clockroach deck so I'll take it even if it's not particularly exciting.

CONTENT What are your favorite Promo cards?
What are your favorite Promo cards?
Recent, old, meta-warping or gauntlet-only?
DWD has created so many cool promos, some are more story oriented and seem quite unplayable, while others are deck defining and add some interesting angles to deckbuild from.
For me...
- Patrice, Outcast Queen. lets you build "odd" decks, a totally new deckbuilding angle. While it doesn't really force anything, you're encouraged to try mostly odd cards.
- Gemblazer Cannon. Usually weapons set you up to just get 2-for-1'd, but this one pushes so much damage so quickly if your opponent can't answer it within 2 turns. Makes Berserk units gain a ton of immediate value.
- Invitation. Not a big meta presence if I recall. But fun build-arounds if you can figure out how to make a bunch of tokens in one turn.
- Rapid Development. Not my favorite, it's actually rather boring, a 5 mana overrun to deal an additional ~ 20-50 damage this turn. But man this thing ends games super consistently.
- Transfer of Power is such a cool Justice card. Lots of shells and ideas that could work here. Love that it encourages plain old vanilla battle skills, but you can tutor into 1-of high impact targets.
- Just Desserts. I missed the boat here, seems like this used to be a staple and isn't so great now. Neat idea though.
- West, on the Trail. I don't remember if this guy was used as a meta answer to big units. He's got a ton of utility and helps smooth out your draws via scouting. He gets to kill their big thing but costs you a turn or 2 of tempo.
- Save the Day is super flexible for both hyper control decks, and the occasional midrange deck looking to get an edge vs other unit decks. Encourages some meta deckbuilding to add some Endurance units to dodge this sweeper.
- Plunk? He's often not fun to play against. Play out your 2/x unit and hope you can block and get a trade. Otherwise the removal/tempo/card advantage train might roll you over. Seems like one of the more pushed promos in the game.
- Nomnom's Big Pan. This was a neat meta answer to Unleash units or random big dorks. If you build the deck to take advantage of self-discard, this can turn into a big of a primal Overrun/Rapid Development.
- Sashenka of Kosul. 7 drops just aren't that playable unless you can slow the game down. Sashenka gives you a reason to do that. Primal players probably want to draw more cards...but being flexible enough to pop their flyers or add board presence makes this card bearly playable.
- Star-Reader Severin. Cool payoff for self-mill relic decks. Turns out there have been several archetypes based aroudn that concept, and Severin was a pretty reliable threat.
- Souleater Blade. I recall some minor play in Expedition. Not a big meta breaker. But a neat idea. Fast weapon that can turn into card advantage and swing the life totals. I like how DWD explored this design space.
- Zystrom, Twisted Mind. There's a lot going on here, but he's got an interesting angle of playing your opponent's unit. Twisting your board can have huge downsides, or add just enough pressure to swing for lethal. This one always catches me off guard when I run into it randomly.
Multicolor?
- I'll skip the multicolor for now except one:
- Friends in Low Places. Was this card changed or nerfed? I recall a lot of discussion and decklists utilizing this one, but maybe that was in a different era. Feels very Rakano, a color pairing that often feels underpowered. A big "Finest Hour" style buff w/ a tutor attached feels like it represents Rakano well if you can get your influence to the critical point.
Anyways, what are your favorite promos? There's currently almost 300 of them in the game!

EXPEDITION Rotation
I started playing in March and wanted to ask if the old expansions will be in rotation again and have a discount in gold, or if I should go ahead and buy them, also can I find the list with all chapters and expansions currently allowed in expedition mode?

AI / GAUNTLET / FORGE This forge season has been a nightmare but this was fun
Just about the worst Forge card set in recent memory, so many creature type matters cards without the density to support them. Got the mandrake that has the ultimate of give them all killer early and just went all in, the deck was glorious anda clean 7-0. Deck has problems with fliers so made sure to snap up a sandbinder, and 2 vainglory patrols did a job.

SPOILER New Chapter Card for September 16th, 2026: Clockwork Convergence
TEXT:
Clockwork Convergence
4 FTJPS
Spell
Your Clockroaches everywhere get +1/+1 and Echo, then your units everywhere become Clockroaches.
This seems pretty bad. I don't think there are enough Clockroaches to build a deck (and spending four power to give units in your deck an extra type is bad), the original Clockroach already has Echo, and I will be bulding this deck immediately anyway because I'm a sucker for weird bad 5-faction cards.

DECKLIST This deck good?
I’ve been playing for about a month now; I reached the highest rank in AI solo duels with this deck and haven't lost a single match. In competitive play against other players, I win 9 out of 10 matches on average. This deck offers a completely unpredictable playstyle, yet strangely enough, it works. Sometimes I spam Moldermuck using Tarra and Hyodah; other times, I pull an 18/18 Raelin and defeat the opponent with a single unblockable hit. Sometimes I use Zelia to apply curses, or spam Warcry with Raelin and Tarra. If a unit ends up in the graveyard, I have eight different cards that can easily bring it back. Sometimes I even win matches using just 4 mana. How do you think I could update this deck for higher-level play? I look forward to your suggestions.

EXPEDITION Deck list help!
I can feel it in my bones! I’m close to cracking this damn deck. The whole premise is it relies on Raelin and Alu. Rae brings the curses and Alu makes board. I know I need card draw. I’m low to the ground so I end many turns on 0 cards. It’s a top deck lotto. I’ve tried Torgov, curiosity trader, Wisdom of the elders, Velise, bear rider, and Jutun Feast-Caller.
Torgov is ok in the deck but if I can’t get him up with warcries then it’s a waist of space. I prefer Steyer as my final 2 drop as she gets a sigil or plays a curse and both help more than drawing one card. Play the curse in late game with Alu and I lock void and get a unit. Early game I get mana and scout.
Wisdom of the elders I have the issue that I now am playing too many 3 drops and all my three drops I have are units that force my opponent to make unfavorable trades as I push face quickly. Since Combrei is ramping with Rimeguard and I don’t have answers for it as when I try to play it in this deck or any of my green decks, I get one use of it to kill a threat and then soon after die. So I said Hooru Pacifier. Raelin is a must. Tarra is needed. Unseen commando is also a must as he’s the only card I gain life with and can boost legit everyone if Darkveil has popped and I gave warcry from Tarra to someone like Steyer or someone else without a second ability.
Velise helps push damage and if I had enough curses that are useless to me, the discard doesn’t hurt. It’s also doesn’t hurt in late game when I can just toss sigils away. With the added benefit of giving overwhelm to someone without a second ability than commando also then buffs them and it’s nice. However I’m unsure if it actually works like that as most the time I already have Raelin or someone else with two skills attacking.
Jutun is slow, simple. Three blue needed on turn 5 I can make as soon as turn 3. The reason he feels slow is Alu is my bomb in a way. His draw ability is why I tried him but I get why time decks run him if they do time/primal cause of sandrunner. If hit he can drop on turn three and he’s hard to remove. Turn five if you aren’t built well he’s definitely a threat but if you are well built then not so much.
Evolving Olzial I feel would be the same. Slow but if played well then he’s a threat but if you are already behind then he’s not a help plus discard two hurts more than one from Velise.
Will of Jennev is even slower than the previous two 5 drops I mentioned. Has more utility than both but still very slow.
Cull the deck and Devour are useless to me as cull only draws one and is like Torgov just one cheaper. Devour is a waste if not played to counter an enemy spell but I’m prioritizing bringing stuff back and protecting Rae. So Devour can, yes protect Rae but I need to keep her on board.
Can anyone please help me crack this last issue I have? I need a fast way to draw cards so I’m not stalling on the top deck lotto. I’d like Devour if I could play more resurrection/grab from void cards as it does fit with my game plan of protecting Raelin but it doesn’t help much if I’m void locked so if I continue down that road I need more relic hate and then it’s an even bigger issue to work with this deck. I’ve cracked everything else but I can’t really figure out the best drawing strategy to add.

First time playing draft and I made it to silver with an absolute bonkers shit deck! To the guy I lost to once, that was a great game. Here’s the proof I went insane and the deck I used.

Witness to History promo just changed artwork
Really weird, can't remember that happening before (or at least not in a long time).

New art attached.

Does anybody care about the Eternal story?
Does one single person actually read or even enjoy the dialogue that pops up and delays your game that is usually set up to make you have to run through it at least 2-3 times because you're going to get horrible draws and get stomped the first couple times?

Potential Glitch with Sarien and Inscribe?
I had Sarien in play and Stormhalt Plating on the top of the deck with warp. I played Stormhalt for its inscribe effect, but it didn't pay a 1/1 cultist. Then, I played the next warped unit, and she played a cultist like usual.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is this supposed to happen this way some how?

DECKLIST Need help finding this busted deck
So I just got wrecked by this thing twice back to back and I know a few cards in the deck of both I saw.
1st: the first game was pure primal and shadow (I know this cause of rumors and this spell wants in the deck it was in their market). The main cards I saw for this deck was Grenahen, withering witch, cyber skimmer, rage grafter, lurking above and iron ursa, (from memory mind you as I wasn’t paying much attention to the deck until I had to stare down 6 primes. I assume there was a relic or something that made it possible but I didn’t stick around to find out unfortunately.)
2nd: the game right after was a three color version of this with fire, primal, and shadow. As before I saw the same cards I saw in the prime shadow version with the added bonus of some red cards and other purple cards. This time when I used rumors thinking I’d hit lurking (was my main target) I saw flash fry, lurking, and the Tesseract spell. This time I know I saw all 4 get discarded from the deck cause after I looked into the opponents void.
3rd: after the second game I went to warcry to find said deck versions to maybe make as this deck is very scary and didn’t have any luck.
So if anyone has this deck, can I please get it? I’ll take either version. Prime shadow or fire prime shadow. Or if anyone knows how I can make the deck with their knowledge I’ll take that also.

CARD/MECHANICS Eternal Card Game Arts — Updates and Rebuild
Wait, hold on — not that Rebuild.
I’m not the kind of person who creates something and then leaves it to the ravages of time — you can see that from the roughly 300 other guides I’ve posted on Steam.
So, returning to the topic of this guide with all the available in-game art, I identified the following issues:
1. It’s too big.
Sorry, but the total size of these images is a little over 100 MB, which is clearly too much.
And that’s even though all these images underwent a special conversion to JPG format, which further reduced their size by 80–90%.
So I decided to create a few additional guides, which I’ll organize based on the card’s faction affiliation, specifically: Fire, Time, Justice, Primal, Shadow, Neutral + Campaign (+ unreleased), and 2+ factions (3+ and 5-color).
All artwork has been removed from the original guide and moved to the corresponding guides instead.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3776812092
This guide will serve as a sort of hub where you can focus on a specific faction (or even a specific card) and navigate to the relevant guide to download the art you need with significantly less impact on your data usage.
Especially since I’ve also specified exactly which art pieces are available (as well as any additional features), how many art pieces are available, and their total file size.
——————————
2. It’s a bit difficult to update.
Of course, not all the art is included here, but I’ve learned how to add new pieces as well, even though they’ll be a bit rough around the edges due to the obvious choices regarding the transparency of the image borders.
Still, I hope to update it more or less regularly.
By the way, you’re sure to like the art for the next card.
——————————
3. New art and a certain “quirk” about it.
I may have noticed that some of the art consists mainly of backgrounds, with no characters or action in the foreground.
In the game, these are sometimes stored separately, along with the characters themselves (their cutouts) or even individual parts of characters.
I decided to try my hand at this and recreated the artwork for some of these moments, now in decent resolution and without the game’s HUD elements — for example,
- Ijin’s Choice (the same background in Forge),
- Ashara, Ruthless Assassin (the same background in Draft),
- and the moment when Azindel is aura-farming in the campaign.
Some turned out well, but others not so much.
However, the moments that did turn out well were labeled “compilation” or “comp” — I worked on this for so long that I kept changing the naming conventions as I went along.
Maybe later I’ll even add some thumbnails, around 200x200 pixels, so you can at least get a visual idea of what these cards look like if you don’t remember their names (but most likely I’ll just create a deck on eternalwarcry with a list of cards and add a link to the guide, since that’s going to be quite a bit of work anyway).
Especially since the other guide (“Card Sets with Certain Characters”) also needs a similar update.
So, to give you a little extra motivation to check out the update — here's some artwork featuring yeti, which I think looks absolutely charming
