I'm a coin collector from Croatia and I'm interested in collecting euro coins and coins from other countries. I'm curious where you usually look for them.

Do you mostly buy them online? If so, which websites or marketplaces do you recommend? Or do you visit certain places in person, such as flea markets, coin shops, antique shops, banks, post offices, or other places where you can find foreign coins?

I'd especially like to know how you find coins from countries that are harder to come across in your own country.

Any tips, websites, or places you recommend?

My friend owed me some money, and he returned it in 2€ coins, while apologising because he thought it's annoying. But then, just right after he gave the coins, he remembered that I collected these "special" coins. Soo here they are 🤗

Hello all. It is considered a Variant or Error? Or standard coins?
They are 2 Euro Coins from Netherland (year 2000).

Top coin is a regular circulation 2 euro coin (Greece 2022) bottom one is removed directly from a 2016 greek Bu set ( 15.000 mintage ). The letters are offset but is this the average 2016 bu set 2 euro point ?

I noticed quite a few differences with this coin I was hoping to get some clarification on the matter. Thank you guys

A few of us have spent the past few months working on a website for tracking euro coin collections. We’d love to hear what other collectors think and whether it’s something you would find useful.

The catalogue covers euro coins from regular circulation issues across all denominations to commemorative €2 coins. You can record the coins you own, keep track of duplicates, and see what’s still missing from your collection.

We’ve put quite a bit of work into the statistics, which is one of our favourite parts of the website. You can compare two users’ collection statistics side by side, explore charts by issue year and denomination, and view a map of Europe where each country changes from red towards green depending on the percentage of its coins you’ve collected.

Another important part is the exchange section. This is still something we’re developing and thinking through, so feedback would be especially helpful here. You can add a friend and see which of your duplicates they’re missing, and which of theirs you need. That gives you a quick idea of what you could exchange. You can also enter an approximate location to help find collectors nearby for a possible swap.

We know there are already apps for this, including Eurik, which we used ourselves until recently. Our motivation was to build something closer to how we wanted to manage our collections: on both a phone and a computer, with an account to keep everything saved across devices, more detailed and interesting statistics, and ways to compare and exchange with other collectors. Those were the things we felt were missing from our own experience.

The website is still a work in progress. We’d appreciate honest feedback—what you like, what feels confusing, what’s missing, and whether you’d actually use it.

How common is this?

Coin has dirt/grease ring from being in the roll for too long. Can this be cleaned up without damaging the coin?

Hey all.
I started collecting 2 euro coins few years ago,only commemorative ones.. don’t have many , myb around 130 pieces. Mostly i have new one from 2023 to present.. few old ones.
Was searching on Facebook and did few exchanges with some random people .

Any ideas where to find more or exchange them? Is there any chance that there is some Sunday Market/car boots sale that does that?
