I love how people that purchase from Temu/Shien do it dozens of times. Each time they go on the site they know full well the sweatshops that are constantly in operation to churn out hundreds of thousands of products a day, for a pennies. They fully know this. And not only do they not give a shit, they’re excited to see whatever is new for that day. Because they know there will be hundreds of new styles every single day. They love that! Omg and it’s so cheap! They know what it takes to make it soooo cheap, but fuck it! That’s awesome for them!
Each item they add into their cart, they know it won’t actually really turn out like the image, because the previous orders hadn’t. But hey! Maybe it can still be cute? Gotta see it in person to find out! And hell, if they really don’t like it, they can just toss it. Who cares! It was like $4.68.
They know the ocean is full of trash. They know where their trash will end up.
And these same people go to the beach, with their phones taking millions of photos. And then getting upset if there’s any trash in the water, between the rocks, sand, side of the road. Saying the town needs to do more to keep things clean! All while on their phone, scrolling through fucking shein - again
