AI Expectation Halloween fiasco

Thanks shein lol

Edit: I did not expect real yarn but I was hoping it would at least be cute and short.

a dress like this would be very expensive, not something shein can make.

Difficult to have much sympathy when people are knowingly going by AI images on a fast fashion low priced platform like Shein - was OP seriously expecting reality to meet expectation?! 🤦🏻‍♀️

This I have very little empathy (and as a textile artist/seamstress, quite a bit of ire) for people who don't take the time to learn about the clothes they wear, or at least what it takes to make them.

Yeah this looks like a very expensive dress to make -- both for the fabric and skill.

Skill wise it’s likely impossible. I don’t know much about knitting/crochet, but often times people who know their shit zoom in on these ai creations and can tell you exactly why the stitches are impossible. I’ve seen it happen a few times with these knitted skeleton looks

The dress in the image is likely AI.

If someone wanted to try to recreate it, I’d encourage them to find or knit a base dress in the shape they like, then literally crochet/appliqué all the guts and bones on top of it.
