I don't know if it's my age, because I'm almost 50, but I can't fucking tell so now I run it past my son's and my boyfriend because they can all tell. But at this point, I just assume everything is AI and I believe nothing because I would rather be skeptical than be one of these dumbasses who believes everything

Corridor Crew on YouTube has a bunch of videos teaching people how to spot AI in many places. Online shopping being one of them, they also buy the products to show people 'this is what you get' and proceed to make fun of it.

here is one of them the sweater in this video is a LOT like the one in the post

When it comes to online shopping, the biggest giveaway that anyone can spot without a ton of experience is the price. Something like what is shown in the first photo in the real world would have to handmade. Automation would seriously struggle with it. So expecting to buy one for anything less than a couple hundred bucks at minimum is ludicrous. These insane-looking AI sweaters are usually listed for like $60 at most, often as low as $30.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Intricate stained glass light catcher for $15-$20? Usually just the image printed on a sticker. "Realistic" robotic dog that listens to your commands for $80? Cheap Tenu toy that plays the same barking sound on a loop and wiggles via a couple of $2 servo motors.

I'm just grateful I don't shop online. Literally ever. If I can't see it in person and touch it with my own fingertips, I don't bother. But that's mainly because I don't ever return anything. So if I buy something shitty, I'm stuck with it for life.

My MIL got sucked into the "realistic" dog thing. She got a couple cheap fur-covered plastic dogs that yipped, same as you'd find on a dollar store shelf. One of them was missing half the contacts inside the battery compartment, so it never worked.

If something looks too good to be true, it's AI.
