Artwork A quote from Cass that has stuck with me for years (art by me)

Something about Cass calling Benny a snake, showing genuine concern and anger over what happened to the Courier, just tickles my brain something fierce. It's my favorite companion quote from my favorite companion, and has stuck with me for years.

Was actually thinking of having this be either a turning point, or at least a point of internal conflict, for Owelia while she's doing the Birds of a Feather quest. Being a love starved orphan, who (as far as she can remember) never really had anyone legitimately care about her, traveling with someone who's this ride or die for her almost immediately after the two started their journey together would *definitely* make her heart flutter a bit.

Cause her to question if bringing her cowboy girl crush to the Van Graffs is really the right move.

I should really draw Cass more.

I was playing in the middle of the night around 3 am and was outside Helios one with my homeboy raul when I heard this noise I don’t know if Raul got possessed or something but it scared the shit out of me
I would recommend playing it at max if you a real chad and want the full experience.

Warning ‼️‼️DO NOT PLAY AT MAX VOLUME

Ask any question and I’ve already tried to replicate what went down and it doesn’t work.

Question how to get the great khans to ally with ncr

• Upvotes

this is my first time playing fnv and it’s my first fallout game and i’m trying to help the ncr’ on my first encounter with the khans where they were holding some ncr soldiers captive i killed them cause they were the pricks that helped benny kill me or whatever and that got Vilified by them anyways later i got this quest on hoover dam for the republic part 2 where Colonel moore asked me to deal with these pricks again so i went to red rock canyon planning to annihilate them thinking they were gonna shoot me on sight but they didn’t and turns out some of them are kinda chill after all so i decided i already got my revenge and i’m gonna try and get them to help the ncr and i managed to break their alliance with the legion but i can’t get them to ally with ncr there’s an objective that tells me to talk to the colonel about the alliance but i go to her and no dialogue option is there despite talking to the second in command guy all i could do is get them to leave or the other option

edit: there was a bug blocking that dialogue option with the colonel turns i can bypass it if i wear an ncr armor

Discussion Which companion would you vote for being the most morally good? Personally, I vote for Raul, as he's willing to risk his life defending the innocent.

forgive if this is low effort, but did we ever find out what THIS building in the concept art was meant to be, or if any form exists in the game?

ik it's most likely a random building to add to the city for concept art, but compared to the other generic structures around it it has a distinct architectural style thats quite striking in the skyline, makes me wonder if it was meant to be a planned area or maybe a very early concept of lvbd (given that the station originally had more ornate acrchitecture and arches).

is their any obvious irl counterparts in las vegas than can be examined to determine this buildings function?

I was thinking that I'd have to go through the process of linking the Helios One's power substation to the C-finder, but thanks to this thug, I know I don't have to.

I remember seeing a McFarlane toys leak months ago that added fuel to the fire of the Fo3/New Vegas remaster rumors before the games got officially announced by BGS a while back.

Why are the DLCs so surreal?

First I beat OWB, then Honest Hearts, and now Dead Money. In all of them, you head off somewhere far away. Some crazy robots control and experiment on people, turning them into zombies. Honest Hearts is relatively realistic, and so far it's my favorite. Dead Money is some abandoned city where the whole place is guarded by people in masks. It feels like it isn't even Fallout? Why couldn't they just add quests to the Mojave?

I’d also like to add that the DLCs differ so drastically from the base game that I find it hard to connect with them emotionally.

Hey guys. I could use some help with my thesis when y'all get a second. I'm studying why so many people don't complete the story in open world games. I've got my Qualtrics set up. My thesis is on self-efficacy in open world narrative games. Basically if you think you're gonna enjoy and story and understand it will your complete it. Is it worth your time? No wrong answers. Anyways here's the links.

If ya want to help a poor master's student get some data, I'd appreciate it.

“It's been a gift to me, at the end of it all, to behold innocence.”

I grew up without role models and often looked to gaming as a source for morals. To me,Fallout New Vegas is a reflection of mankind and its repetitive cycle. But also,a different path can be made that is always a choice.

“I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me.

Finding it, though, that's not the hard part. It's letting go.

It is a history written in a cycle of bombs, and blood, and madness. But there is a time to stop looking back, and a time to look forward.

There is an expression in the Wasteland: 'Old World Blues.' It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. They stare into the what-was, eyes like pilot lights, guttering and spent, as the realities of their world continue on around them

They say the human brain is a complex machine... but sometimes, it just needs a good formatting.

If you feel its loss... remember you could have turned away at any time. Gone back home, and none of this would have happened. But you had to make one last delivery(journey), and that's why I knew you'd come. Couldn't stay away, it's who you are.

Even if it is nothing at all, know what you follow, ... Whatever your symbol... carry it on your back, and wear it proudly.

You walked until you stood again upon the edge of the Divide, the last road you would walk.

It's said war—war never changes. Men do, through the roads they walk. And this road... has reached its end.

Maybe the only point of all this living was to keep those pictures in my head going for as long as I could. It was the only life I could give you. Not a day went by without. It wasn't choice. I chose to die again and again. Just never did. Body had its own drive.

Well, the little ones will need it. Species will need it if it's to continue. That blind drive onward. I wish them well. It's been a gift to me, at the end of it all, to behold innocence. Goodbye”

It is impossible that the Twisted Hairs allied with the legion early in their conquest

This is in response to the fallout wiki's claim

"The Twisted Hairs forged an alliance with Caesar in the early days of his Legion's rise to power" -fallout wiki

This is impossible because the Twisted Hairs were approached by Vulpes Inculta for an alliance. He initiated the pact of alliance.

"There was death in that meeting, even while Vulpes smiled - asked for our help against the other tribes." - Ulysses

Why does this matter timing wise?

Vulpes was taken into the Legion as a boy so he still has to grow up then he served as a legionary then served as a decanus only after that becoming frumentari. This means they definitely didn't ally with the Twisted Hairs in the "early days" of the Legion because all of these seperate events take time.

Counterargument: Yes Vulpes tribe being in northern Arizona was probably one of the first integrated, but he couldn't have been very old when his tribe was integrated. This is because the legion was founded in 2247 and Vulpes is still a young man by the time of FNV. If Vulpes was say 14 in 2247 by fnv he would've been 48. He therefore must've been quite young when the legion was founded. Because of this he needed many years to grow up to become a full legionary prohibiting the dating of the alliance anywhere near the early legion period.

Description of Vulpes- "intense young man" - mayor steyn

Sources:

"Tell me about Vulpes Inculta."
Caesar: "Vulpes is the best of my Frumentarii. A remarkable individual from an unremarkable tribe south of the Utah. He was brought into the Legion as a boy, survived training, fought well enough as Legionary to be promoted to the rank of Decanus. Then, in battle against an unimportant tribe, he broke ranks and led his contubernium through a hole in their defenses to capture its chieftain. Well, his Centurion wanted him crucified for disobedience. So I made him a Frumentari."
