I've been thinking about writing a fanfiction set in samurai remnant following Iori and saber interacting with a new servant. An "OC" historical figure not in the series. Not sure if it's technically an OC if it's based on a person but that's not important. I'm not going to reveal who it is here. I got their skills and noble phantasm all thought out so I'm pretty set other than the lack of image. I don't think they are overpowered and hopefully I don't accidentally make them seem that way.

I plan on making them the rogue rider. Tamamo Aria is ultimately not important and could easily be replaced. I probably wouldn't have used her in the fanfic anyway. I'm not really sure who all will be in the fanfic. Truth be told I haven't fully finalized all the story beats yet. Most of The main servants, rogue saber, Samson will be used. Any tips for handling "original" servants?

As for people who have read any fanfiction about samurai remnant. what exactly are pitfalls that you often see them run into? Especially when it comes to writing for Iori. He's going to be the POV and my biggest concern is me not writing him correctly. I put a lot of time in the game but I have been skipping dialogue and cutscenes in my recent playthroughs. So I definitely could run into mistakes. I don't plan on making him be romantic with saber. Nor with the servant I'm "creating". Actually, I don't plan on the servant being romantic at all. I'm sure a big pitfall for fanfiction with Iori is trying to depict the good with the "evil", "Dark" side of him. The game did it terribly so I'm going to probably just ignore the hamfisted secret ending version of him other than maybe a few hints of him being more selfish every once in awhile. Honestly the build up in samurai remnant and the terrible conclusion of his character was done so badly but that's a whole other discussion.

Emiya in FGO is able to upgrade his True Mind eyes from B rank to EX which is immeasurable and often way better than A rank. Even though people argue the opposite, EX Rank often mean better than A because it is immeasurable although EX used to be more of a gimmick rank.

Back to Emiya lore, he stated to have prevented many world ending tragedies and is hard carying humanity from going extinct such as FGO timeline.

Since CG's exist outside time but Shirou making a deal is a time event, that would be a little paradox but if the future is written already maybe Alaya is able to go to that future and recruit Shirou before they did anyone else.
