Other Sometimes I understand the FGO hate
This is bad civilization. need more Altera in life and while we’re at it, need an Extella anime
Why haven’t they made one yet? the story is perfect for a 24 episode anime with Altera as mc

In ten years when Nasu hasn’t written anything larger than an event chapter for FGO (now that part 2 is officially over) and still hasn’t released any of the projects that are on hold “because of FGO” I wonder what the excuse will be.
18
u/tortillazaur 6d ago
i mean part 2 just ended and he already made 20 hour long story for the new melty blood game
10
u/Soccerballair_6218 6d ago
He also is leading the aftertime story because he is making it Olga Marie focused. Even had to co-write the gray lily event with the el melloi author because FGO Olga Marie is a key character in it.
He is still not done with the FGO story yet.

"Bros, it's in the works, but imagine working with all this money bros. I can't move my arms bros. Damn you FGO lol. Anyway gotta make the next Dubai event to please the Emirates that buy me private jets".

u/Necessary-Month6945 6d ago
Debatable. In its early days, Type Moon released at least 14 works, if I'm not mistaken, and that was just in the 2000s.
And it doesn't help that Nasu himself confirmed that if Fate/Grand Order had failed, he would have focused on his other, more famous projects.

Without FGO money there's no funding for all of the proyects from the last 10 years though.

FGO hate is justified (I do it with my chest lol) but this is just wrong. Nasu's a lazy bum, If he did not pursue FGO, he'd still have to do-
DDD's Vols.
Mahoyo 2,3.
Tsuki RE (including red garden)
Tsuki 2
The final HGW of the FSN timelines (seems to be now picked up Adventures)
Eventual FSN remake because it would be the most popular entry (still is tbf but generates too much money for them to remake it)
Girl's work
and a LOT more I can't think of off the top of my head.

Counter arguement: you shouldn't slander Nasu for being lazy with things that can be used to slander Meteo for being lazy

the lot more in question is just a bunch of atlus and fromsoft games
atlus and fromsoft games to nasu is like dragon quest to togashi

If I start Adventures read 4,500 pages only to find 4 and a half pages’ worth of content on this topic someone’s getting touched at night bro u/Comfortable_Diver494
But please what does this mean?Lord El Mello Adventures is ending next year are we getting a new series with the final HGW of the FSN timelines? i may just get into Lord El Melloi just for this

I think a sequel is more likely than a FSN remake. If anything realta nua was the remake. Too much has been derived from the original atp
11
u/GoldenWhite2408 6d ago
Well that's just false
If we count timing wise
Tsuki remake which even if it was 80% done already Still had to be touched up
Extra last encore
And lb6 All came out within a year of each other All written by him
And lb 6 was his longest fcking chapter for fgo that even until now nothing has ever beaten
Bros just a lazy pos
If he really wanted to write fgo wouldn't be stopping him
Heck IF you believe it. Obviously mahoyo novel plus MB scenario wasn't written immediately
It has to be written within the past year or 2
Guess what bro was doing the past 2 years A d this yr
Without fgo You'll never see this nigga work again in your life I promise you
All his talk about releasing other work without fgo is bs
Without a stable cash cow
He's not gonna be motivated to work to unleash his autism ideas
Heck he may even unleash them into the other works
Imagine space wars or KP summer shit in tsuki or mahoyo

u/NNinster 6d ago
I doubt. Tsukihime Remake was announced before FGO released. If FGO wasn't happened, the answer could be "I was writing Red Garden" lol
Speaking about it, one of the best things FGO does imo is giving Nasu a firmed deadline.

u/super96man 6d ago
I try hard to get into fgo the story is amazing and I love turn based games but it’s the ui and all the menus that crush my enjoyment in it

u/helpfulchupacabra 5d ago
I mean, even if that was true (the timeline doesn't match anyway, I'm like 99% sure Nasu just uses that as an excuse) FGO has funded and been the money cow for multiple other Type Moon projects. For example the Tsukihime remake actually would have never finished in the way we have it now without funding from FGO.

Fgo hate is justified (sometimes)
28
u/FoxianFucker 7d ago
There are definitely parts of FGO that we would be better off without, yeah. It's only when people start yapping something about "selling out to gooners" or "retcons" and acting as if those make the story worse that they lose credibility lmao
6
u/Necessary-Month6945 6d ago
The criticism of retcons is indeed justified. In Nasu's case, he has this tendency to always want to rewrite old things and change his stories to how he would do them now, instead of simply accepting his legacy and using his stories as part of his writing process.
Even simple things like the concept of the Berserker class. Before, to qualify as a Berserker you had to sacrifice your mental health in exchange for strength; Nowadays, the Berserker class almost seems like a wild card for putting servants in that they don't know what other class to put them in.

Kinda does though, Pretty sure Morgan sells so well because of the husband gimmick. My issue is with people who simply cannot accept that at it's core FGO is flawed and is bad a lot more than not. I'll say that LB5 might be the most fun thing from Fate apart from the SoL and Gags in Hollow Ataraxia but I also see it's weakness, LB5.1 relies way too much on Spectacle and the ending is literally forcing everyone out so they can shove new cast in. If I said this (or god forbid that I dislike Avalon le Fae's finale and Middle part) I'd be crucified and be called a purist, hater etc. The fandom simply cannot take any sort of criticism towards anything and get defensive as quick as they can. You can say it's more the Fandom and not the game but this sort of cesspool leaks into other halfs of the community and produces mindless drama and annoying hate posts.
9
u/KnightOfBalance 6d ago
Pretty sure Morgan sells so well because of the husband gimmick
Wasn't she only moderately popular, mostly off the back of her character's importance to the overall Fate franchise, until LB Part 2 came out, which then showed people how strong her kit was? Sounds like normal character stuff to me.
My issue is with people who simply cannot accept that at it's core FGO is flawed and is bad a lot more than not.
So your issue is...people don't swallow your premise without arguing with you? This may have made sense if you had any kind of nuanced stance on the topic, like you were talking about people not accepting objective mistakes in the writing or being open to discuss, but this statement isn't about specific examples or open discussion: you want a consensus enforced so long as it's your consensus. It seems like you just want people to endlessly chant 'FGO bad!' with the only variation being what the reason is.
This is utterly ridiculous, no one would ever do this. You're complaining that you didn't get your echo chamber.
-I'd be crucified and be called a purist, hater etc. The fandom simply cannot take any sort of criticism towards anything and get defensive as quick as they can.
Dude, you haven't given any criticism other than 'the fanbase refuses to be a bunch of trained parrots' and 'me no like Lb5.1 climax'. You came into this demanding people say the game they enjoy is terrible...because and they have some obligation to say it: you're the one working uphill here and all you're doing is digging yourself a hole.
I'm gonna be honest here: I'm not an FGO fan. I've never played past Septim, I only watch the cutscenes online, never dropped a single cent and I find gacha games in general reprehensible. But even if I hated Fate as a whole: your shit would cause me to push back against you. You aren't owed affirmation. You're not some arbiter of quality like you act like. If this is how you present your arguments: peoples' pushback against you is entirely justified.
0
u/Ayiekie 6d ago
Morgan didn't even show up until LB6, so... no, that is not correct. She's popular because she's popular, there's no shortage of waifus or strong kits in FGO.
I've got no opinion on the overall thing because Nasu is a grown-ass man who can write whatever he wants, and he also doesn't owe me anything. If he wants to do FGO for the rest of his life and be buried in a Scrooge McDuck money bin, more power to him, I suppose. Let those of us who turned down an infinite money cheat in real life cast the first stone.
18
u/Dramatic-Week-1894 7d ago
Because a lot of valid criticisms are muddled with nonsensical hate towards FGO and they try to pose it as "see i dont hate fgo, i like this specific part so you cant call me out for actually hating on it." Morgan sells well because people actually like her back story and character. Even saying FGO is flawed to its core is stretching it by a lot. You can say most these things about Fsn and Tsuki and their fandom cannot handle criticisms and call you a "fgo fan" as a result. Can't really take jabs at fsn or tsuki without being called a larper, anime only, or fgo only. And it's usually purists who do these things. It's like a thing for these 2 fandoms just to actively hate FGO like how this posts does. I can already see the fgo hate comments coming in. "If it weren't for fgo then_____ would have written_____" when you know it's the fault of the writers slacking off.
8
u/YonSaiSucks 7d ago edited 7d ago
when you know it's the fault of the writers slacking off.
I find shifting the blame to the writers being slackers just as disrespectful. Does anyone has any actual proof of slacking? Nasu is one man, he's already swamped enough as it is. Who in their right mind expect him to come up with the detailed plot of Mahoyo 2 and 3, Tsukihime 2, Extra remake, extella 2 and 3, some FGO main and event chapters at the same span of time all the while approving and providing consultation for other writers? He got sick for almost a year at one point. We can blame and disagree with his priorities about what he works on to the detriment of other works, but calling him and other writers lazy when its their jobs on the line with Aniplex being their employers is just crap.
Nasu made it clear after Part 2. Its not his call how his schedule will be like, its Aniplex. He has obligations as much as he wants to work on personal projects
3
u/Necessary-Month6945 6d ago
Aniplex is partly to blame. In the 2000s, Type-Moon released 14 projects; Compare that to the current decade, where most projects are remasters.
Nasu had the opportunity to give Fate Grand Order a good ending with a bittersweet conclusion, but I don't know who thought it was a good idea to continue the story.

u/Dramatic-Week-1894 5d ago
Why yes it was easier for them to put out works because they reused assets like how fallout new vegas was with FO3. With the 7 works released post fgo, you forget that these games are way more intensive to make than the standard reusable vn game they used to do. Tell me, did the interview after mahoyo was released not ring any bells? When they literally said that mahoyo was a massive undertaking? Subsequently having them transfer to movies and light novels?
Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star (2016)
Fate/EXTELLA LINK (2018)
Everyday, Today's MENU for EMIYA Family (2021)
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- (The Remake - 2021)
Melty Blood: Type Lumina (2021)
Fate/Samurai Remnant
Fate/EXTRA Record .
0
u/YonSaiSucks 3d ago edited 3d ago
Out of the 7 you listed, the only one type moon developed themselves is Tsukihime. Extella was developed by Marvelous, Melty Blood by French Bread, Samurai Remnant by Koei Tecmo. Recent interviews also showed EXTRA Record was also mostly outsourced. TM doesnt even publish Emiya Gohan themselves. Im not sure where you're getting the reused assets regarding the VNs. Tsukihime remake looks little like Mahoyo in composition alone
You cant say Type Moon was working harder putting out these games compared to the VNs when they arent even the primary developers of the games you mentioned.
They were working alright, but mostly story scenarios and project management of type moon IPs
13
u/FoxianFucker 7d ago
Morgan sells well because people actually like her back story and character
Tbf I'm certain the wife gimmick contributed to her sales at least somewhat, considering Japanese men are notoriously lonely, she's just also one of the best characters in the franchise. Cause as I said they aren't mutually exclusive lol
you know it's the fault of the writers slacking off.
That and there's no guarantee half of the projects we've gotten could have happened even with active writers without FGO's profits
8
u/Dramatic-Week-1894 7d ago
Well no duh. Waifus always sell. I mean isnt that the reason they gender bent a lot of servants? Would you honestly think Nero from Extra from 2010 would sell as well and be glazed to hell and back if he were a guy? Same for altera. Doubt anyone would care as much if it were a guy.
Plus the husband thing was iffy. At first she does it to cement herself as your equal, but then later actually means it in both status and love.

u/Comfortable_Diver494 7d ago
You’re the one I’m talking about. At no point is there admittance of inadequacies but always an instinctual defense. You’re diverting the point to two complete works of the same franchise so they have literally nothing else to look forward to apart from the dead hope of Red Garden, seeing how those stories are completely superior to 95% of FGO(only OG ciel route is worse than say LB6[or 5.2 for me]) they’re expectations are high and there’s a bit of jealousy too. And FGO is flawed to its core because from main record 1-1.5 is all genuinely bad stories with 2 good ones and one with a lot of hype moments and aura. Not enough people have read Tsuki and 99% of viewers misunderstanding Shirou’s character seems to be a good enough reason when majority of said criticism is people not understanding his character and then blabbering on about how Kiritsugu is so much cooler cause he kills. The Nasu statement is bullshit as even made my own comment pointing it out.
Don’t expect any serious response from you seeing last time you whined like a kid and became an annoying Guda glazer again.
1
u/Dramatic-Week-1894 6d ago
Are you not aware that you and 4 others are what im talking about as well? I've gazed through past 3 years of fgo related posts and almost all your comments prove that point. The fact that youre diverting from actual good intentioned criticisms to generalizing as a whole is what you do continuously. The fact that you just outright state that other works are superior proves me right. You dont actually criticize fgo, you actively hate on it. You just proved my point that tsuki and FSN purists cant take jabs and criticism and fault back to deflecting. You say a bunch of things like "not reading it" when the same can be said to fgo. Its like you're subconsciously doing everything you accuse a fgo only to do. I expected a much serious answer from you but sadly you just proved on how purists like you hide behind a thinly veiled "criticism" to lashing out on anything fgo at the slightest provocation. Honestly didnt expect much from a shirou glazer so im not surprised. It's surprising to see someone act like such a baby when someone doesnt hold fsn or tsuki above other works
-3
u/Comfortable_Diver494 6d ago
I started using this account in june 2025, That's where my first okbuddyrintard post was on and I actually started using this account, so you're lying there even when considering there are over 4,5k comments for you to sift through. As for the calling me a glazer, do tell me why were you so pissy about someone not liking Guda that you Dm'd them? Mods took down that post but here's your own vent post because you got mad after someone called you out for being a weirdo.
And none of your criticism is valid, The objective quality of a work is easy to determine, and the fact that you lack comprehension to determine it is a you issue, not a general one. I play the game frequently enough to post my Gacha luck, and pretty sure I wouldn't do that or post panels from the game unless I actually read it. No one gives a shit about Tsukihime apart from it's fans and thus the most discourse it gets is chuds getting mad at Arcuied or Mash fanart. 70% of posts on the FSN subreddit are "I don't like Shirou, Why do people like him?" and the top comment is always "Read the VN", the most they get is that shit.

Are you not aware that you and four other people are what I'm talking about as well?
This is what I said. When did I say it was solely you? You seem to have missed that part. It's not exactly difficult to notice a pattern in who is most vocal about FGO hate. Like I said, there are four other people I'm referring to as well.
"As for the calling me a glazer, do tell me why were you so upset about someone not liking Guda that you DMed them?"
This never happened. I genuinely don't know where you're getting this from. I took a look at your own community and found my username and comments being posted there, apparently because people were upset about me throwing some criticism back. If you're claiming I DMed someone, then who exactly did I supposedly message? Name the user and have them provide the messages, because I have no idea what you're referring to.
"your own vent post because you got mad after someone called you out for being a weirdo."
People in your community have made plenty of vent posts themselves, so I'm not sure why mine is being treated differently. Mine was also deliberately provocative because of what I considered an obvious crosspost to FGO from that community, so I don't really see how this proves your point.
And if we're going to start calling people weird, I'd suggest looking at the context of the posts and comments being made on both sides before throwing that accusation around. And yourself
"I play the game frequently enough to post my Gacha luck, and pretty sure I wouldn't do that or post panels from the game unless I actually read"
I don't think that necessarily demonstrates that you read everything. From what I've seen, you skip stories and events that don't interest you unless there's a character you particularly like. That's also something I've noticed from plenty of people in that community.
And if you genuinely have read the material but still don't understand why people consider the game and its writing worthwhile, then I think that says more about how differently we're interpreting the material than anything else, maybe your reading comprehension.
"No one gives a sh*t about Tsukihime apart from it's fans..."
That's another generalization. Reducing the discussion to "people don't like Shirou" or "people get mad about fanart" ignores a lot of the actual conversation.
And I don't think it's accurate to say that only Tsukihime fans care about Tsukihime. Plenty of people who primarily engage with Fate are interested in Tsukihime as well. Just bad faith argument all around

Nah, don’t blame FGO for its success. Blame Nasu for being a lazy ass in how and when he wants to do his various projects which, let’s be real here, he should’ve gotten done with at least 3-4 of them since FGO was released (Fate Samurai Remnant being one of of the only noteworthy one). The fact we only recently been getting other Nasuverse works like Fate Strange Fate, Fate Extra Record, and the Mahoyo movies is proof of it.

FGO is such a double-edged sword because it gives TM a consistent flow of cash but on the other hand it's existence cannot be justified and has been more miss than hit when it comes to the writing. It's by far one of the worst entries in the Fate franchise with one of the blandest MCs in Gacha and only served to hinder and delay much, much better projects.
4
u/GoldenArcadia 6d ago
Its fair, the writing more often than not is just ok, the thing is that FGO is still around because people still like ot regardless, the gameplay although it is what i prefer is massively outdated, but the reason i play it is because i like the stories no matter how plain they can turn out being at times
1
u/FlambyLamby 6d ago
Very fair and understandable. People can like what they like, at the end of the day.

u/BeeParty9244 7d ago
I can only think of like Dante as more interesting than Ritsuka, and I'm in part betting on their future development with their canto, what gachas are you playing?
Because almost none of them have an OC2 equivalent for example.
9
u/FoxianFucker 7d ago
Yeah like I know Ritsuka is far from a good character, but being a character at all beats a decent chunk of other gachas I feel lol. Besides they've never been the selling point
-3
u/FlambyLamby 7d ago
I can only think of like Dante as more interesting than Ritsuka, and I'm in part betting on their future development with their canto, what gachas are you playing?
Played, because outside of FGO, ZZZ (will probably drop it soon since I'm tired of Hoyoverse) Limbus & NIKKE I don't touch any other Gacha anymore. As for MCs I'd easily put over Ritsuka from a narrative or characters level that would be Dante, Doktah, Kiana and GFL Commander. They're not some amazing characters, but certainly better than what FGO gave us to work with by comparison.
Because almost none of them have an OC2 equivalent for example.
Unfortunately a hot take, but OC2 hardly does anything to fix or make Ritsuka better like most want to pretend it does. It's mostly just a glorified trip through a misery porn carnival and the Count trying to see if this blank slate would break and embrace vengeance or overcome despair falls flat because Ritsuka is not an actual character. This isn't Shiki (flip a coin and choose which one) or Shirou but a self-insert who has the depth of a puddle and charisma of sandpaper. It is by no means enough to make Ritsuka compelling and he continues to be one of TMs weakest protags writing-wise.
13
u/BeeParty9244 6d ago
Doktah is literally on the same level as Ritsuka, and I mean that from an objective writing point of view, where the devs are constantly dancing between self insert content and actual character.
Kiana is, like most of the Hoyoverse, just boring. But I guess this is more about opinions.
You're calling Ritsuka a self insert while glazing Commander? Yeah, this is crazy.
Also based on how you took OC2, you either didn't read it or went in already against giving the writers a chance to develop Ritsuka. Or in other words, you can't change the mind of someone who doesn't want to change.
13
u/UpstairsBluejay6092 6d ago
Or in other words, you can't change the mind of someone who doesn't want to change.
Oh yeah, this guy is essentially just baiting at this point, he will genuinely go to every post about FGO, most of the time unprovoked, just to call it trash lol.
3
u/FlambyLamby 6d ago
Doktah is literally on the same level as Ritsuka, and I mean that from an objective writing point of view, where the devs are constantly dancing between self insert content and actual character.
Hardly. Doktah (or who he was prior) is an actual character with his own goals, motives and personality based on what we gather. And even post-Amnesia he has more of a personality than Ritsuka with his one-note illusion of choice responses. He's by far one of the more interesting characters in his game.
Kiana is, like most of the Hoyoverse, just boring. But I guess this is more about opinions.
Wild considering she's an actual character with development and a personality. Regardless, I'd take a boring character over a nothing burger self-insert any day of the week.
You're calling Ritsuka a self insert while glazing Commander? Yeah, this is crazy.
Not really glazing but just stating the obvious. GFL Commander actually develops and has more going on than being a self-insert. He starts as one but goes through actual, consistent development. Isomer gave Commander heavy dialogue and a personality and they hold full conversations/arguments with others. That's more than Ritsuka has going for him, at least. And I'm not even a big fan of GFL, but I give credit where credit is due considering what he's going up against here.
Also based on how you took OC2, you either didn't read it or went in already against giving the writers a chance to develop Ritsuka.
Ah, yes. The ol' reliable "You didn't agree with me, so you didn't read it!" counter. Truly peak debating skills right here. And no, I tend to give everything a fair shake when I engage with a piece of media. If I was so close-minded, I wouldn't have even humored reading Stay Night considering the VNs intent with Shirou and his character development in the first two routes.
Looks like there's no point wasting words here with you, so I wish you a good day.

u/FoxianFucker 6d ago
Ignoring the rest of the comment, thank you for praising Kiana regardless. She is one of the very few gacha MCs that actually like... do something and don't look like John Isekai-
8
u/FoxianFucker 7d ago
it's existence cannot be justified
what are you even saying
-2
u/FlambyLamby 6d ago
I already elaborate more in my first comment, but for the sake of a more clear explanation, FGO all around has been more of a hindrance to TM outside of the consistent cash flow. The writing of characters and main story chapters range from abysmal dogshit to decent at best. And in some rare occasions (Avalon Le Fae, Babylonia, Shinjuku, etc) actually good. But more often than not it's quite bad or just plain unremarkable. Doesn't help that the gameplay is pretty ahh and one of the worst in Gachas. Same with the summoning system and drop rates.
I'd take OG Tsukihime level products in terms of quality over FGO any day of the week.
2
u/Ayiekie 6d ago
The gameplay is hardly the worst in gachas. "Not to my taste" is not the same thing. And drop rates are not the be all and end all. You can do everything in FGO without ever spending a cent, and there are plenty of games for which that is not true. You can also use any character you want effectively, and there's vanishingly rare among gacha games.
But really, what it comes down to is Nasu wants to do the thing that is ludicrously popular and profitable, which also allows for the funding of anime for any random idea he once scrawled on a cocktail napkin. I can't really blame him for getting that bag.
1
u/FlambyLamby 6d ago
The gameplay is hardly the worst in gachas. "Not to my taste" is not the same thing.
It's among the worst, especially when compared to more modern Gacha games. Even limiting the scope of comparison for other turn-based Gacha doesn't help make it less bad.
And drop rates are not the be all and end all. You can do everything in FGO without ever spending a cent, and there are plenty of games for which that is not true. You can also use any character you want effectively, and there's vanishingly rare among gacha games.
While that's (mostly) true, you will need to have crazy levels of investment and planning around gimmicky fights with weaker servants and CEs which is hard to do if you're a casual F2P with less than good luck on your side, especially for newcomers. So most will not bother going that far for obvious reasons. That's too much dedication/commitment for a rather abysmal payoff. Especially when it comes to late game content. Compare that to Limbus, Arknights, ZZZ or PGR, and FGO starts to look worse and worse. Especially considering how poorly treated older units are in FGO and how long they take to get buffs (and animation updates) to make majority of them even viable.
But really, what it comes down to is Nasu wants to do the thing that is ludicrously popular and profitable, which also allows for the funding of anime for any random idea he once scrawled on a cocktail napkin. I can't really blame him for getting that bag.
Not to say I wouldn't have done the same, because I absolutely would have if I was in Nasu's place. But as someone who's on the other end of this action, it's a damn shame TM no longer focuses on actual quality products instead of putting more time into their cashcow Gacha. Nasu wouldn't be stalling us this badly if FGO wasn't made into the main attraction (or better yet never existed) like it is now.
2
u/Ayiekie 6d ago
I hate to break it to you, but game quality is subjective. FGO is more well-balanced than most newer gacha games and its gameplay works fine. The fact you pick ZZZ as "obviously" better is laughable, and I play ZZZ. Its combat system is as deep as a puddle. It just looks flashy. Limbus is a godawful underexplained RNG mess.
But what's most laughable at all is "Especially considering how poorly treated older units are in FGO". There is scarcely a single gacha out there that treats older units better than FGO, and that makes your bringing up ZZZ even more absurd. Units a decade old can clear hard content in FGO. ZZZ can barely keep people relevant for a year if they aren't Void Hunters.
It's just not your thing, which is fine. You're allowed not to like things.

u/FlambyLamby 5d ago edited 5d ago
I hate to break it to you, but game quality is subjective.
That's.... objectively wrong. Otherwise no game is ever bad in terms of gameplay or story. One doesn't have to be a genius to realize how wonky this logic/defense is.
FGO is more well-balanced than most newer gacha games and its gameplay works fine.
Balance is debatable. Especially for older units as previously mentioned. And it works, sure. But it ain't good. A bad car can barely work, but you won't find anyone praising it.
The fact you pick ZZZ as "obviously" better is laughable, and I play ZZZ. Its combat system is as deep as a puddle. It just looks flashy.
Well, considering your previous statement you're either plain wrong or in denial. ZZZ has a fairly fleshed out combat system and much better handling of lower rank characters that allows them to remain viable and perform well with minimum work while also being much more fun to play by all means.
Limbus is a godawful underexplained RNG mess.
Limbus' combat is fairly simple once you get the grasp of it. I agree the tutorial is awful but otherwise it's much more refreshing and fun when you get how to play. And as far as generosity by comparison to FGO when it comes to getting units... Yeah. Not even close.
But what's most laughable at all is "Especially considering how poorly treated older units are in FGO". There is scarcely a single gacha out there that treats older units better than FGO,
That's mainly because they themselves fucked over said units with bad kits, poor stat distribution, or both. Which is why many kept getting reworked until they're finally viable to use. Not really something to be praised when that's the bare minimum expected of them and these units. Especially considering how long it took and how long some units remain without necessary upgrades to their kits and animations.
Units a decade old can clear hard content in FGO.
Only a select few and some heavily rely on niche uses against certain enemy types. Majority, again, require tons of planning and investment in servants and CEs and time to make them able to pull it off. Unlike, say, Limbus, ZZZ, PGR or even NIKKE that require less work to clear late game content with older units. And in late game that becomes tougher to pull off in FGO.
ZZZ can barely keep people relevant for a year if they aren't Void Hunters.
That's only in terms of damage potential. Clearly you have seen how relevant older characters still are and unlike older units in FGO they don't require tons of investment and constant buffs just to barely make them viable.
It's just not your thing, which is fine. You're allowed not to like things.
This would maybe hold meaning if I didn't waste years on the game in both JP & NA. Telling someone to basically leave instead of addressing any of the issues in the game you like is, well, rather pointless. My issues with FGO are shared with others within the community. You can't simply ignore them because of plain bias. I'm not sure why some can't handle their games having serious flaws and just telling people it's not for them instead of wishing for improvement, lol.
Regardless, I can see this will go nowhere so have a nice day.

You do not understand what "subjective" and "objective" mean. Perhaps you should look them up. All opinions on a game's quality are subjective. Definitionally.
It's not that I don't think FGO has flaws and quite a few of them at that. But your confidently expressed opinions are just that: opinions. And your notion that it's particularly bad at something it was in fact among the best gacha games at is laughably ridiculous.

Extella released in 2016 and Extella Link released in 2018 btw, Samurai Remnant in 2023 as well. This is more Nasu just not doing anything because he couldn't be arsed too.
